I am so unhappy with this place. Some how it has to be fixed. I do not have $500+ to waste on a crappy vacation. While we were staying in Cancun a number of things happened. First we were booked for Avalon Bay. They did not pick us up at the airport. We finally arrived and was told our reservations were canceled! We then had to go the sham of a hotel Avalon Grand. While there, someone tried to break into our room. During the day while I was there with the baby alone. I called security and they went and talked to the people who threatened my security. They "Promised" not to do it again!! What the !!! My husband had to make them put a lock on the door because there wasn't one! The next day, by the way, they tried to break in again. So much for their promise. Then the maintanence crew comes in and unplugs our refrigerator. It leaked and I fell. My back has hurt since. The maintanance crew also came in during my sons nap and took the ceiling fan out of the room. I called down to the front desk. They had no idea why. I would have asked them but, they didn't speak English! My husband had to go down again for a lame excuse about the fan was falling out of the ceiling. What ever! How could they know this when we did not complain. The fan was fine. It is pathetic that we ended up staying in our room feeling unsafe, looking for a flight home, and hating Cancun. We moved hotels, thank God! Go to Gran Caribe instead. It is soooo much better.
