Location! Location! Location! For spring breakers is great!! Price is great, not expensive at all. You can walk everywhere from there Cocobongo, TGIFriday, Starbucks, etc... its right around the corner. I suggest you go there if you don't have any money but want to have the spring break Cancun experience. (Also you can get a day pass for like $20 dollars in fiesta Americana) beautiful hotel and it comes with a $15 dollar food or drink rebate.

Best western is horrible. 2nd day there they stole one of our cell phones and perfume. If you're young, you're invisible to the employees at the hotel. (You will get no respect!!). Also if they give you a price in something, confirm it!! Because they will change it like 3 times. Also if possible learn some Spanish because they will take advantage of you!!!

  • Liked — The location
  • Disliked — The thiefs they have for workers!!

This hotel is staffed by very kind and helpful people and the restaurant on the grounds is very good for hotel food. The hotel is safe and clean and the grounds are maintained quite well. The rooms are old. I had a two bedroom suite. There were many problems with the rooms - showers not working properly, sewage smell coming from the vents in the bathroom, broken blinds, very very hard uncomfortable mattresses, broken stove. The walls are all concrete and sound travels through them. I traveled with two small children and am not a party goer. Around midnight the clubs open and even with the windows closed, the air conditioner on, and a white noise machine we could not escape the deafening base of the discos nearby. The Lagoon the hotel is on is polluted and smells pretty bad. The play area is cute but not safe. It is unfenced and just 5 feet from the polluted lagoon and the posted sign warms of crocodiles. The only swimmable water is the pool (which is refreshing, but not luxurious by any regard). The sea is down a long driveway and across the street and getting there on foot (with a stroller or children) is not easy. If you are coming to party - a good place. If you want to chill and enjoy the caribbean - not a good choice - you will have to leave too often. Our family was staying at the President Intercontinental and I was much impressed with that hotel.

  • Liked — hmmm.? kind people.
  • Disliked — location from sea and overall shape of it

Great location in the party area on the hotel strip. Room was good. Keeping supplied with towels was a project; on the regular room cleaner's day off, NOTHING was done. Otherwise, it was great! The restaurant there was great! Personnel overall were
VERY friendly and eager to help. Will stay there again.

We are in our mid 30's and went to Mexico to see what there was to offer. We were looking for a hotel as a place to stay during the nights, not really to hang out by all day. This hotel worked for that purpose. It is situated on the lagoon and sits back away from the busy street.

Upon arrival, we were brought to our room which smelled of mildew and was very small. There was one small window, and the place was depressing. We were there 10 minutes before I went to the reception desk to ask about other rooms. They told us about the other available rooms and walked us through them- very hospitable. We decided to upgrade to a suite. This was just $10 extra a night- very much worth the money and highly recommended. The room included a large bathroom, kitchen area with a sink and full fridge, a dining area with seating for 6-8, and a room with two single beds. This was a problem, and we took the cushions( there was no mattress, just cushions on raised concrete) and created our own large bed. Also, the air conditioner worked well.

We used the local grocery store and stocked up on snacks and drinks and utilized the refrigerator with no problems. The only food problem was that any food left out was covered-and I mean covered- in little black bugs. So we stored everything that was edible in the fridge where the bugs could not attack. The cleaning staff also brought bottled water daily for no charge.

The grounds and pool were well maintained. There were nice tables around to use as well. We did find that there were many vacationing Mexican families staying as well. We guessed that it may be a resort for Mexican tourists more than tourists from other countries.

Would we stay there again? No. It served its purpose, but it did not enhance the vacation at all.

My husband and I exchanged our timeshare (2 bedroom lock off) to a 1 bedroom (6- maximum occupancy / 4 private) in Melia Vacation Club at Gran Melia Cancun and 1 bedroom (6 max occupancy/4 private) in Best Western Clipper Club. My family and I stayed at Best Western Clipper Club from May 19th through May 26th with four adults. The grounds were ok but very well maintained and clean. It was a family-oriented resort and it was located right in the downtown area of the hotel zone. We could literrally walk to the restaurants, clubs, and designer stores from the Clipper Club. This is not an A+ hotel look but the location was just terrific. It was a short walk to the beach. The customer service was very friendly and attentive. They informed us what we should and shouldn't do while we were in Cancun. I truly recommend this resort for people who are budget conscious and do not care how the resort looks like.

  • Disliked — There is no elavator. You have to walk up the stairs for your units.
