the price is very economical when compared to other hotels in the area. Obviously the clipper club is a little older and it isn't near as fancy or as appealing when compared to some of the other hotels in the area. It is a condo/apt type hotel. but you have to look at it for what it is. The pool is nice, they have a nice bar at the pool and their restaurant made real mexican food. They have a store on the property and also had a local travel agent as well. You have to try a night cruise it was a blast. We had a nice view of the strip and the lagoon. Like I said it is older. And you don't have luxurious feelings when staying here. So if you are that type you may want to stay away. The one thing I'll say is that I've stayed at a more upscale hotel in cancun and went the all-inclusive rout and I didn't have near as much fun as I had at the clipper club. the location is wonderful. You can easily walk to great restaurants, shopping centers of all types, and the beach. The room also has the feel that you are in a different country. I really enjoyed my experiences at the clipper and would return if I go back to cancun. It is my personal opinion that cancun is a much better experience if you don't go all inclusive staying at an upscale hotel property throughout your entire stay. You've gotta try the mexican taco restaurants as well. they are heavenly....nothing like a real mexican taco and a dos equis. I'll end by saying if you are making your selection based on the luxurious comforts that a hotel room provides...you will be disappointed. If you are about location and getting to experience the real cancun, mexico....then this is a wonderful choice. the only complaint that I have is that the property doesn't have direct beach access. but as I said it is walking distance.

The food was good, location great and that is where my positive remarks end. We stayed there for 5 days and had to be moved twice due to non-working ac and an ant infestation. There was mold growing in the bathroom and in the ceiling of the room. After we were given a room with working ac we realized that there was mold in the ac as well. I had a terrible allergic reaction to all of the mold and end up with a respiratory (sp) infection. We were in town for a party that was in the heart of town and the location of this hotel was perfect in terms of the party but in the end I would have rather paid the $8 for the cab instead of the medical co-pay and prescription costs. Adding insult to injury right down the road were several good resorts, RIU, Dreams, Fiesta Americana... that were all inclusive and not priced very bad. After you add the cost of food and drinks to what we paid to stay here we were only a few dollars away from what our friends were paying at those all-inclusive resorts.

The location of this hotel is great! Its quiet peaceful. It has a very nice pool and the rooms are ok. Please beware the sofa beds aren't what we consider a sofa bed (the fold out type)...they are a matress on raised cement...not very comfy. My boyfriend and I brought (because of what we read on TripAdvisor) with us an Areo Matress which worked wonders. In our room we has a few creatures the first that we found were red fire ants that came up through the drain in the sink, a pet lizard and when we got home my friend went to the doctor and discovered that they were bitten by bed bugs. Yes Bed Bugs! Thankfully this will be the 1st and last time that I ever come back to this hotel! Consider yourself warned!

Location! Location! Location! For spring breakers is great!! Price is great, not expensive at all. You can walk everywhere from there Cocobongo, TGIFriday, Starbucks, etc... its right around the corner. I suggest you go there if you don't have any money but want to have the spring break Cancun experience. (Also you can get a day pass for like $20 dollars in fiesta Americana) beautiful hotel and it comes with a $15 dollar food or drink rebate.

Best western is horrible. 2nd day there they stole one of our cell phones and perfume. If you're young, you're invisible to the employees at the hotel. (You will get no respect!!). Also if they give you a price in something, confirm it!! Because they will change it like 3 times. Also if possible learn some Spanish because they will take advantage of you!!!

  • Liked — The location
  • Disliked — The thiefs they have for workers!!

This hotel is staffed by very kind and helpful people and the restaurant on the grounds is very good for hotel food. The hotel is safe and clean and the grounds are maintained quite well. The rooms are old. I had a two bedroom suite. There were many problems with the rooms - showers not working properly, sewage smell coming from the vents in the bathroom, broken blinds, very very hard uncomfortable mattresses, broken stove. The walls are all concrete and sound travels through them. I traveled with two small children and am not a party goer. Around midnight the clubs open and even with the windows closed, the air conditioner on, and a white noise machine we could not escape the deafening base of the discos nearby. The Lagoon the hotel is on is polluted and smells pretty bad. The play area is cute but not safe. It is unfenced and just 5 feet from the polluted lagoon and the posted sign warms of crocodiles. The only swimmable water is the pool (which is refreshing, but not luxurious by any regard). The sea is down a long driveway and across the street and getting there on foot (with a stroller or children) is not easy. If you are coming to party - a good place. If you want to chill and enjoy the caribbean - not a good choice - you will have to leave too often. Our family was staying at the President Intercontinental and I was much impressed with that hotel.

  • Liked — hmmm.? kind people.
  • Disliked — location from sea and overall shape of it
