This is the old Hyatt hotel in Cancun. Don't be fooled by pictures. Stayed here in 2007 and had a miserable experience - food sucked, management was rude, Hyatt refused to refund money when I checked out early. Don't stay here and don't ever stay at Hyatt Hotel chain - Hilton and Sheraton much better at customer service. I do highly recommend Rui Las Americas in Cancun - that place is amazing.

I will write a lot more later.... for now our room was fantastic. Royal tower suite. Huge balcony with the ocean honestly underneath it.

Seriously you must be warned of Royal Holiday vacation club. Google royal holiday scams before going to cancun. They will steal your money and lie to you. You will find ABC's story on them too.

There was almost no one in the hotel because of the swine flu scare. We felt like we had the beautiful torquoise ocean to ourselves. I have to say considering we were the only ones giving them business they could have given us a little better service.....
I don't think you will find a room this close to the ocean in any other hotel here for less than 6 times the price. I don't think I can recommend this hotel to anyone while Royal holiday is scamming people there! Oh well...

We purchased this package on Expedia.com(more on that later)
We had a direct flight form DC, flight was good, packed but no problems, arrived, we found a ride to the hotel afte going through a bunch of options!
Almost everyone at the airport works for some time share company or resort so be careful or will be wasting time going for a sales pitch which is what our hotel was, a destination for the Royal club to make sales pitches.

They actually don't bother you if you are guest at this hotel however.
The hotel is nice, the beach is one of the best that cancun still has, I would definitely go back. we had a great time, we were their for 11 days.

Caution, stay away from the expedia travel desk! We spent over $600.00 on tours, only one was decent, al the others we bought were other sales gimmicks!, I could not believe it.
Expedia is ignorant to link themselves with kind of people.
i have had other issues with Expedia as well, their customer service has gone down to almost a zero!
I have used this company for years, but after spending 11 hours on the phone with them this last time, i will never use them again!


I tried to reach the CEO's office after I got back and was told, oh they don't take calls from cusrtomers!
Well excuse me lady, gues what? I am not a customer anymore
so you don't have to worry about talking to customers, you have one less!
What ignorant person runs that company now?

I have been looking around for hotels to have a wedding in Cancun in November. Based on reviews, price, and value I thought that the Cancun Caribe looked the best. My fiance and I just went down there May 13 -17 since rates were so cheap to check out the hotel.

We were very impressed. The hotel is not a huge and have all the bells and whistles of perhaps a larger place but all the staff was extremely friendly, the hotel actually had a decent beach where a lot of them did not, and the smaller feel of the hotel was really nice. Not tons of people everywhere.

Now the one complaint was the beds were not super comfortable nor the sheets but if you are not picky about that sort of thing and want a beautiful view, great pool, and nicely decorated rooms for a good price then this is your place.

The wedding coordinator was also extremely helpful and we got our whole wedding for a very good price since I shopped around to see what other hotels were charging.

This is also very close to the area where they have all the bars and areas to go out partying if you want to be near it. Bus runs right in front of the hotel every 2 minutes.
