We were there from Jan. 22. 2009 to Jan. 29, 2009. It was our 3rd time there. We arrived at 10:30 am and got our room right then. Since it was our 3rd time at this hotel, they gave us an upgrade for free so we had a ocean view room with a balcony ;-) We then went down to pool # 3 since we now our way in this hotel. Angel was waiting for us because we kept in touch with him all year long on facebook. We were so happy to see him again. We met new the entertainment staff (Vanessa, Mariana, etc...) they are all nice people and we can't wait to see them again next year. We plan to go back there with a party of 8 in Feb. 2010. The food was still great, as everything else was too... It will be our 4th time at this hotel this coming Feb. and I really don't want to try any other hotel because I love the Barcelo and the people who works there too much ;-) Enjoy your stay. Our first room was roasting and tiny. They tried to repair the air conditioner, but couldn't. Said they were too full to change rooms until the next day. While I was in the process of changing rooms the next day, the maid went through my husbands pants pockets that were laying on his suitcase, went in a buttoned pocket and removed $100. I told the front desk about it, not expecting anything because he left it there at his own risk, but he said oh well that happens. Then he said I owed $78 to change rooms. Our next room was bigger, but the beds were terribly hard. The air conditioner ran in that room, but the room never got below 25 degrees C (77F). They said that is as cool as it will get. The resort only has a narrow strip of beach. So if you are looking to lay on the beach, this is not the place. It seemed like they were low on staff. Service was friendly, but scarce. One girl was getting drinks for 3 different pools that were packed. At times there was only one person working the front desk and you had to stand in a long line (not at the heavy check-in or check-out time either). We've been to Cancun twice before and stayed at the Westin-Regina and loved it. We only stayed at this place because it was a last minute Priceline deal...didn't end up being such a deal. We will never stay at this place again. Westin-Regina had a lovely beach, with wait staff that came out there to serve you...very relaxing.

1st room the air con was not workin! 1 girl spent the day vomitin after eating the buffet! Didnt have choice of restaurants! Cockroaches in the rooms! And 2 of us came back with SWINE FLU!!! But, Vanesa an Mariana where very helpful an friendly! So now we might not be able 2 go 2 are friends wedding!!!

We had a very large group of 10 people (3 different families) and each of us were very pleased with our stay at Barcelo Tucancun Beach Hotel. The hotel had just re-opened the day we arrived (due to the swine flu), this was June 1st. We actually were the 4th people to check in to the entire hotel. For most of the week we had the run of the hotel to ourselves. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. Their athletic director was AWESOME, her name is Vanessa and she MADE our stay at Barcelo a lot more fun. The pools were great, the grounds were well tended and the food was good. The food got a little old after 5 days but you'd have that anywhere, the waiters were excellent too. The hotel had 2 nights where they had special planned evenings of dance and music along with buffett food. There was Caribbean NIght and Mexican Night and both nights were awesome and the food was excellent. The waiter we had both nights was wonderful and very attentive to our needs. (his name was Jorge)
We would definetly go back and stay with this hotel again. Looking forward to next year.
