Our stay at the Barcelo was great!!! We had a wonderful time.. The staff is great and our rooms were always kept very clean... The pools were wonderfula and hand washed and cleaned every morning. The bartender at one of the pools was absolutely great@!! thanks Antonio! We are already planning to go back to this hotel!! We did run into a few problems but nothing more than any other hotel I have ever stayed at! They were right on it to fix these problems though! I would highly recommend visiting this hotel! As for the bad revies on this place is crazy.. You will always have good and bad stays but it doesn't totally reflect all on the hotel. WE WILL DEFINATELY GO BACK!! IT WAS GREAT!!

we went for 2wks the beginning of june, the location is amazing beach right outside and the lagoon and shopping center the other, the rooms and hotel were very clean and cleaned daily also fridge in the room restocked on a daily basis, there are 4 pools one pool is taken up by people who want to join in the activites and the other pools you are left alone to sunbath or swim freeley, the food is of a very high standard and was most delicious, i could not moan or pick at any faults on this holiday would recommend to all

I just got back today from the Barcelo and it was great! The service was awesome as was the staff. I don't know which buffets the people ate at that claim got sick but I thought the food was great! Especially Mexico lindo. The beach was affected by the hurricane but still fun. Bring a boogie board. The alcohol was bottom shelf but after 6 heavily rum filled mojitos I couldn't tell the difference. The price that we paid was a steal and will def. be back. Only complaint was a couple of teenage senior trippers that were loud and obnoxious coming in at 3 a.m. but do stay here! It is def. worth it!

We were there from Jan. 22. 2009 to Jan. 29, 2009. It was our 3rd time there. We arrived at 10:30 am and got our room right then. Since it was our 3rd time at this hotel, they gave us an upgrade for free so we had a ocean view room with a balcony ;-) We then went down to pool # 3 since we now our way in this hotel. Angel was waiting for us because we kept in touch with him all year long on facebook. We were so happy to see him again. We met new the entertainment staff (Vanessa, Mariana, etc...) they are all nice people and we can't wait to see them again next year. We plan to go back there with a party of 8 in Feb. 2010. The food was still great, as everything else was too... It will be our 4th time at this hotel this coming Feb. and I really don't want to try any other hotel because I love the Barcelo and the people who works there too much ;-) Enjoy your stay.
