...beware the TIMESHARE!

First of all, this property was great. We got an upgraded room because our original budget room had orange water and a view of equipment. We kindly requested another room and where given one of the newly renovated rooms. Very unique!

Food was good, pool was clean, and staff was nice. Also, the beach area right behind the hotel was very nice.

Now, for the bad news: don't accept the "Welcome Tour" they offer when you check in. This is actually a timeshare scheme. They meet you for breakfast, take you on a tour of the grounds, then take you up to a room full of alcohol and sales people with hopes of gettting you to buy an over-price timeshare. As if that wasn't bad enough, they wouldn't let us leave. When we tried to get up, they tried to guilt us into staying and listening to more of their pitch by saying that our sales person was going to get in trouble because she was not doing her job well enough. Needless to say, we stormed out very angry and literally had to push people out of our way.

Other than that incident, the actual accomodations and hotel staff were great! Just be prepared for the timeshare scheme.

My boyfriend and I just returned yesterday from an eight -day stay at Temptation and it far exceeded our expectations. The staff was spectacular, the Asian restaurant was fantastic (ribs and spring rolls were our favorites) and the entertainment was great. To debunk several myths: we did have a bathroom door, check-in was easy (we were able to skip the timeshare promo with no hassle), our room opened onto Paty-O's and we were able to sleep without any trouble (the A/C drowned out any noises) and at no time did we observe anything 'x- rated'. We enjoyed the all-adult atmosphere, the pool games, the sexy lights, the never-ending free drinks (NOT watered down), the food (except for the main dining room- the food there was nothing special) and the friendliness of all the staff. Tip them well, be kind and they will treat you like royalty! We can't wait to get back there!

    • Liked — The entertainment at the sexy pool!
    • Disliked — The beach- not a lot of sand and quite rocky.

“A Relaxing Time”

Temptation Resort & Spa

Jun 15, 2008

I read reviews for a month before our trip to Temptations, and I wasn't really sure what to expect. My husband and I were there for a week, and we had a good relaxing time. We are in our 20's, not big drinkers, and wanting a relaxing vacation. I will just go over a few things from the resort.

Check-in was fine. They gave me and my husband a room with double beds, which I thought was odd since obviously we are a married couple, so be sure you specify double or king beds. They changed our room to a king room with no problem. Also, be sure the price they are going to charge you for all-inclusive is the price you were quoted when you made reservations. Ours wasn't, but it was later fixed.

We did the time-share presentation, and it wasn't bad. Never take the first deal because by the time we were ready to leave, they had cut the price down considerably. We received $75 for the tour. It took 2 hours, but part of that time was during breakfast. Also, beware because they try to get you drunk while doing the presentation.

The food was good. I really liked the all-inclusive thing because you don't have to worry about cooking or finding anything to eat. the buffett was good with a wide variety of foods. My husband is picky, but he always found something. The waiters were very attentive. We ate at the Italian, Seafood, and Asian restaurants. Waiting in line for reservations is crazy. My advice is to take a book and be in line by 9:30. If not, you will be in-line for an hour. Also, be aware of the dress codes for the restaurants. The asian restaurant has a no-sandals rule. My husband and I went there for our anniversary, so I had on a nice dress and glittery sandals. The guy would not seat me until I hade on shoes that weren't sandals, so I had to wear my sneakers with my dress. it was so dumb because at the next table were ladies with very casual outfits and sneakers. Just be sure your shoes have a heel or wear your sneakers.

I had a 50 minute massage that was wonderful. I highly recommend the spa.

We also took the day trip to Isle Mujures. It was awesome!!! I highly recommend it. The catamaran was relaxing, and the tour guides were wonderful. it includes lunch. if you are going to Temptations through RCI, you will get this trip for free. if not, i think it is just $49 per person and it is so worth it.

We mostly stayed at the quiet pool. It was very calm over there. Women still go topless there (women who soooo shouldn't go topless), but it's not a big deal.

Overall, it was a relaxing trip. I do recommend the place. Everyone, including the staff and the guests, was very nice. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

This was NOT a swingers resort or over the top hedonism. There is toppless sunbathing at the pool but no overt nudity. It is an adults only resort so the shows are risque, but not vulgar. The food was great. Don't waste your luggage space with nice clothes for the "reservations only" restaurants. All the food is equally good. Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The beach had seaweed but it didn't bother us a bit. The watersports were very fun. The drinks were not watered down. In fact, they sometimes seemed very strong. The rooms weren't overly big but were very clean. I would definetly go back.

Our first time at all inclusive resort. This was a mid range resort not the most expensive, and not the least so we were expecting mid range service. We never ate at the restaraunts butthey looked nice and the buffet and mardi gras which served grilled food were more than adequate. The hotel service cleand and stocked our fridge daily, a little skimpy on the water but we drank mostly pina coladas and daqaris all week, bar staff was great. They try to schedule you for a time share in the beginning but we never attended and never heard about it after. Great info about the area from the time share person though. Beach area wasnt the best but we made the most of it. Fun at the sexy pool good for a laugh. I had a great time, for what I paid. But I am an optimist and make the best out of every situation.
