Let me just start by saying, THIS IS NOT A SWINGERS RESORT..I am sure some of you are disappointed but many of you were a little nervous like we were before we went. This resort is a 3 1/2 star resort(per my standards) the food is good, nothing crazy. Picky eaters like myself can survive here. You can always get a late night cheeseburger and fries if all else fails. The activities at the "Sexy" pool are hilarious, if you are a prude you can hang at the quiet pool. My suggestion is don't volunteer for any activities if you want to keep your swim top on......No matter what, at the end of the activity you will get embarassed. It is all in good fun though. The beds were fine, not overly hard. They are pretty chintsy in the minibar stocking though. You get 2 Dos Equis per day in your fridge. Throw the maid a few bucks and you might get 6...The restaurant reservations is a pain, you have to go and wait for 40 min to get in the restaurant of your choice for the next day, and btw... guys can not wear ANY type of sandles to these restaurants. The first thing they do when you get there is do a shoe check. Tennis shoes are acceptable....very bizarre. The restaurants are not that spectacular you could probably go to the buffet style restaurant and avoid all the drama. Go to Margaritas for lunch they have a great lunch menu. If you want to book excursions through the hotel I would advise not booking through Olympus they are NEVER there. If you want to do the nightclub thing, go w/ the hotel. They go every night and rotate clubs nightly. You pay 40-60 USD and they get you in and get all your drinks... Again avoid the DRAMA of trying to go yourself. We had a great time and never laughed so hard in our lives. Yes there are many topless and g string ladies at the pool. Suprisingly there were 20-70 yr olds rockin the topless thing..More power to them, who cares. Nobody knows you there and nobody gives a "sheet"

“Great entertainment”

Temptation Resort & Spa

Jun 25, 2008

My husband and I went to Temptation on our honeymoon. We enjoyed the adult ,casual atmosphere at this hotel. No it is not the most luxerious but, by far, I think they had the best entertainment during the day. The staff in the restaurants are very attentive and will bend over backwards to make sure you have what you need. The front desk was not so pleasing but we did not let the minor inconveniences worry us much.

The reservation thing is a minor inconvenience but the food was very well worth it. The buffet food is nothing special but was edible. The drinks were not great. It tasted like very cheap alcohol however you must try a Miami Vice. I never got drunk or buzzed from their drinks but downtown Cancun is another story. My favorite thing about this resort was the upbeat, active atmosphere around the sexy pool. The music was great and the games were SO freakin funny. We were dispappointed that the jacuzzis are not hot. In my book, it is not a jacuzzi unless it is hot water bubbling on your back!

Beware of the Mexicana Ferry that takes you to Isle Mujares. They told us to meet in front of Sr. Frogs store for our return trip and we got left behind with 2 other couples. When we confronted the woman who worked for them and told us where to meet she denied it and walked away. We never saw her again. We had to pay for a ride back on another ferry so we could make it back in time for our dinner plans. It dropped us off far away from our hotel and we had to take a cab back. Very frustrating and not very professional on Mexicana ferry's end. Also, beware when you book a tour or event, they pack you in like sardines! All of our tours were fun but you will be crammed onto a bus or a boat or whatever.

All in all, we would recommend this hotel but we won't likely be back to Cancun. There are so many other places I would rather go.

“Loved this place. Would recommend to anyone”

My sister and I transferred here form Blue Bay Club and what a difference!

We were worried about swingers reputation and heard the games round the pool could be quite wild but they werent at all. It was more of a laugh than anything. We wished we had stayed here for our entire holiday.

It's really close to Cancun (only $12 for taxi in at night) and 70p for bus which come by every minute and is just as quick as taxi.

Loved the choice of pools and i loved the beach too. The choice of bars were good too. Loved paty o's and the sports bar. This is also the first place i've stayed where you can strike up a conversation with anyone anytime you go to the bar. We met loads of people as everyone was really friendly.

I'd recommend this hotel to anyone (obviously over 21) and we're thinking of going back next yr! i was honestly gutted leaving Temptations.

Only downside was the queing for restaurants in morning. Hours to book were between 10 and 12 but q's wld have formed by half 9 and there's only 1 woman taking the reservations. My sister waited forty mins one morn and after that we decided to stick to buffet every night. Who wants to spend 40mins every day of their hol waiting to make dinner reservations? Not me!

...beware the TIMESHARE!

First of all, this property was great. We got an upgraded room because our original budget room had orange water and a view of equipment. We kindly requested another room and where given one of the newly renovated rooms. Very unique!

Food was good, pool was clean, and staff was nice. Also, the beach area right behind the hotel was very nice.

Now, for the bad news: don't accept the "Welcome Tour" they offer when you check in. This is actually a timeshare scheme. They meet you for breakfast, take you on a tour of the grounds, then take you up to a room full of alcohol and sales people with hopes of gettting you to buy an over-price timeshare. As if that wasn't bad enough, they wouldn't let us leave. When we tried to get up, they tried to guilt us into staying and listening to more of their pitch by saying that our sales person was going to get in trouble because she was not doing her job well enough. Needless to say, we stormed out very angry and literally had to push people out of our way.

Other than that incident, the actual accomodations and hotel staff were great! Just be prepared for the timeshare scheme.

My boyfriend and I just returned yesterday from an eight -day stay at Temptation and it far exceeded our expectations. The staff was spectacular, the Asian restaurant was fantastic (ribs and spring rolls were our favorites) and the entertainment was great. To debunk several myths: we did have a bathroom door, check-in was easy (we were able to skip the timeshare promo with no hassle), our room opened onto Paty-O's and we were able to sleep without any trouble (the A/C drowned out any noises) and at no time did we observe anything 'x- rated'. We enjoyed the all-adult atmosphere, the pool games, the sexy lights, the never-ending free drinks (NOT watered down), the food (except for the main dining room- the food there was nothing special) and the friendliness of all the staff. Tip them well, be kind and they will treat you like royalty! We can't wait to get back there!

    • Disliked — The beach- not a lot of sand and quite rocky.
