WOW! This was our second visit to Temptation and fourth trip to Mexico. It was fabulous! We have use Fun Jet & Lomas for all four visits. Plane landed at 10:10 am and we were checked in & in the pool by 11:05! The theme of the hotel is Garden of Eden & the forbidden fruit (the apple) with Adam & Eve. hence the name Temptation!

Check in was fast. They ask you to see the "concierge" polity decline or go over to the desk and decline information. It is actually an attemp to sell you a time share and participate in a "Breakfast tour " that takes up to 3 hours of your time. We have never done it but have heard about the aggrivating time. We are considering buying a time share and will take the time when we do.

We had a GREAT room (2312) It was off the O' bar so it did get loud at night but never kept us up. Room was clean, Fantastic view, and air cond. worked well. Try channel 12 & 14 on the tv! ;) Hair dryers, irons, and iron boards in every room. No clocks or alarm clocks! We liked this though as we are on holiday and dont care about time! You get used to it...its nice..we did bring a travel alarm clock to use the last day so we did not miss our flight home!

Occupancy was down so we did not need dinner reservation at the restaraunts and the Buffet was closed at lunch. Breakfast buffet was good but same every day. The three specialty restruants were fantastic. Favorite was Mediteranean (Great seafood), then Italian (Great Veal) & Asian(great spring rolls) They all serve a complimentary house drink that was usually chapange with grenadine or melon liqour.

Drinks were ok. Favorites were Tequilla shots, tequila sunrise, Bahamma Momma, Beer(Cerveza) Rainbow shots, drunken monkey & Champange. We were given two bottle of complimentary champange in our room ...I think becuase I brought the staff a gift.

Though occupancy seemed only to be at 35-40% the staff and entertainment crew was FABULOUS! Bartender and waitstaff we great. Walking around the resort all the staff was friendly & curteous. The entertainment staff were a "HOOT" & marvelous. The games and event around the Main "sexy pool" (loud) were incredible and adult oriented. Think sexy Newly wed games!

The staff organized lots of activities- Tequila volleyball(so much fun played 6 games!), water polo, horse shoes, free sail $40 for 40 minutes. Took free scuba diving introductory lessons in pool!

There are 3 pools: 1.Sexy pool(main) where activities and games are & music, with swim up bar 2. Quiet Pool with swim up pool away from noise very relaxing. 3. Sports pool for water sports. The beach is way bigger than last year with lots of room and white sand beach.

Our opinion is this is not a swinger resort( we were never approached & did not see it) There are Topless women by the pool (probably 80% of ladies go topless) There is no preassure to join the fun and games and they are hilarious to watch. Most vacationers here were late 20's to late 40's. You will need an open mind in relationt to the games, shows and entertainment. This is an adult resort (no kids!) No spring breakers tearing it up. You can relax on the beach or quiet pool and have a blast at the Sexy pool and shows at night!

When you get to your room : before the bell hop leaves ensure your safe is open! It must be open then closed to reset your own combination. Avoid using the hotel phone in the room it is costly. We got free updated calling plan from verizon to use our phone in mexico look into that. Minutes cost more but could keep in touch with family and confirm ground transportation.

So much fun and activites there is no need to leave the resort day or night. We never did. Last year we took the 70 cent short bus ride to the market.

The location of the hotel in the Cancun area is not our favorite as the beaches to the south in Playa del Carmen and Playacar are prestine and more secluded but temptations is by far our most favorite resort! We love the value, deals and service we get through Fun Jet.

If you are an open minded couple open to new things, fun, SUN & sand you will enjoy this place. We will be returning again next year! If this was a helpful review for you, please indicate on this review that it was helpful!

Well had to write a review after reading so may different ones. My girlfriend and I went to the resort from May28th-June4th 2009. Now after reading the mixed reviews we went in open minded and figured we would decide for ourselves.

From the time we landed till the time that we left I would say we were treated very well. And that the staff is very nice not one of them will pass you without saying Hola. The resort is being cleaned from the time you get up till the time you go to bed.

Let me see if I can give you some helpful hints:

1. We used Best Days for or transfers to and from the airport, they where very nice and on time. We would recommend them

2. After checking in you are sent to meet with a person that tells you about the resort, they try and set up a breakfast with you to go over it in more detail. If you want the free gift and want to hear about there style of a time share then go, if not just tell them you are not interested.

3. Do not over pack; you will most likely be wearing a bathing suit most of the day and only changing at night.

4. If you do not feel like leaving the resort there will be no reason to. If you do want to go to the clubs the resort sets up a bus ride to a different night club every night for an additional $40.00 US dollars, includes the ride over, cost to get in, and all the drinks you want. Note it does not include your ride home, so you will need a bus or taxi home. Bus is much cheaper about 7.5 pesos each.

5. Sun screen is very important, weather you buy it at the resort or at home make sure you do not buy the cheap stuff. If the ingredients start with water or wax I don’t care if it is 80 block you will still burn. Buy a sun screen that the first ingredient is Aloe.

6. If you do not feel like running back and forth to the bartender bring you own larger cup, the bartenders will make you drink to the size cup you give them. If you do not want to pack one they sell some nice ones in the gift shop for about $8.00 US dollars

7. Bug spray/lotion can be very helpful as they have a lot of mosquitoes; they like to come out about sunset and since most of the night life is outside this can save you a lot of scratching.

8. Now when we went the hotel was only at 30% capacity due to the flu scare and just the bad economy in general. But normally you would want to make your dinner reservation between 10am and 12pm and if you want to get a nice seat at the pool you would have to have you towel on a chair by 8am. We did not have to do any of this, so that was really nice but I figured I would tell you about it.

9. Tipping, I suggest that you bring some dollar bills with you and do tip. But you can decide on when it is right, you know who is going out of there way to make you feel special. But all the employees work hard so show them that you appreciate it.

About the beach, yes it is true that it always has seaweed on it and does not have the best smell. The workers are out there all day doing there best to make it look nice but it really is not a beach. The small sand portion has some great sand but the water is not very inviting. The resort is located more on the bay side so you do not get the crashing waves and all that most people think about when you go to the beach. Now with all that said if you are looking for that type of feel than this resort is not for you. If you just want to look at the view and have fun with all the activities that are going on then you will most likely never even notice.

About the restaurants, we enjoyed the food at all of them with the Italian one being our favorite and the Asian a close runner up. Now most people talk bad about the buffet, we only ate breakfast there and it was decent. They have a cook that will make you omelets, fried eggs, and many types of Spanish foods. The items that are in the buffet line to choose from are like most other buffets you probably have been to. The buffet is not fine dinning in any manner but it surly is edible. If memory services me right there is some place to get some type of food 24hrs a day.

About the games they play, these games are fun weather you decide to participate or just sit back and watch. They do have an adult theme to them but guess what you are staying at an adult’s only resort.

About the other guests, if by the end of the second night you have not found friends to hang out with and party you are either a loaner and don’t want it or you must just smell bad (LOL). You will leave there with new friends and plenty of e-mail address of all the new people you meet. As for the rumors about the swingers, well we did not see any but that does not mean that they are not there, but if they are they are not pushing it on anyone.

If there are any questions you think I may be able to answer please feel free to email me at [--] and put Temptations Resort on the subject line so I just do not delete it as junk mail

We just returned from Temptaion Resort and LOVED it. This was our 2nd trip to this hotel and found that many upgrades have taken place and many more are in process. It's a lively, fun-loving resort and small enough to get to know other guests. The staff aim to please and are always willing to "go the extra mile." The food was excellent. There was quite a good variety and the specialty restaurants were great. The ambiance in both the Asian and Italian restaurants is very romantic. Breakfast was always wonderful..lots of fresh fruits and yogurt, along with the usual dishes. One night we took the Caribbean Carnival over to Isla Mujeres and hated it. The food on the beach was delicious, but the entertainment left a lot to be desired. At $87.00 pp, I expected more. We've been to Cancun 10-11 times, and we have taken other excursions and enjoyed them very much. Don't waste your money on this one. We will plan another trip to this hotel, probably in the fall. It's a great value and a fun place to be.

My husband & I stayed here for one day and flew home early. We stayed at Desire resort and spa for 4 days & 3 nights so we had high expectations considering we had been treated so well for those few days. Once we arrived at the resort the people at the front desk were very polite and helped us to our room. We decided to go eat at Margarita restaurant. When we got to the podium we stood there for about seven minutes before one of the 5-10 staff members acknowledged us. Then we were seated next to an open area that led to the outside. Kind of like a window with no glass. About two feet away from us on the "window" there was a plate of corn. Once again we sat at our table for about 5-10 minutes before someone came to ask us what we wanted to drink. As we got our food we noticed that one of the wait staff came to add more corn to the plate that was next to us. After we started to eat a bunch of black birds came to eat the corn. It was absolutely disguisting!! We were no joke eating with a plate of black birds right next to us.

After that we went to the bar at the "sexy pool". We were served quickly there and when we got our drinks there were no straws. We politley asked for straws and the bartender said that they didn't have any- and that they don't use straws at Temptation. Well we told the gentlman that we had just got straws at Margaritas and it was not a problem there. He then said that they don't have any straws because they were trying to protect the environment. He should have told us that in the begginning instead of exaggerating that "there are no straws at Temptation Resort".

After that we headed to check out the sports bar. Once we walked in there was an immidiate foul odor. It was horrible! After this we just decided to go back to our room. Once in our room we noticed that is was very hot! Turns out or AC was not working. We called the front desk to let them know and hey said for us to just wait for like 30 minutes and it should be cool. Well we waited the 30 min and it was not getting any cooler. After this we decided just to go home. We spoke to a young lady and gentleman at the front desk. They were very nice and very apologetic for our bad experience. We told them that we wanted to leave and they said for us to call our airline to see if we could change our flight to a day earlier. They did give us a new room that had a working AC. Once we got to the room we called the airline and got flights to go home a day early. When we went to check out they told us that we owed 75 pesos. We freaked out because we were only there for one night and we didn't even do anything or have any fun. Turns out the 75 pesos was for the phone call to the airline so we paid it. I really think that they should have told us that it was not going to be a free phone call when they told us to call. Over all the experience was terrible. If you want to visit Cancun stay at Desire Resort and Spa, it truly is heaven on earth! Temptation resort gets a 1 and Desire resort gets an 11.
