“Lots of fun at BBG!”

My boyfriend and I stayed at BBG from March 28th to April 4th. We had a great time. Because of the nature of the games at the "sexy pool" this was a "different" type of vacation than our last one. (That one was a bit more low key...LOL!) One reason we choose BBG is because it was adult only and we knew that Cancun would be full of spring breakers and thought the 21 and up age limit would make it more our speed, but still lots of fun at an affordable price.

We arrived in Cancun and had decided to take the Colletivo to the hotel to save a bit of money. If we go back we will certainly be taking a cab unless our group fills the collectivo. We just waited too long IMO in a warm van waiting for it to fill and it seemed to take a quite a while to get to our destination. Too much of a hassle for 20 bucks in savings.

We arrived at BBG at about 5 pm. When we checked in we asked for an ocean view room. He said he gave us a better room but no ocean view. We tipped him 20 bucks for the better room. We went to a room on the first floor near the court yard close to the sexy pool. It was very cutely decorated but smelled a little musty and small. The front desk clerk said to come back if it wasnt ok so I sent my bf back. He came back and told me he got us a better room. We ended up with a third floor room with partial ocean view and overlooking the quiet pool. In my opinion it was the ideal location. Very quiet at night, the room was large with a mini fridge and despite the fact the furnishings werent as cute as the last room it didnt smell musty at all. I think it was room 1322. We unpacked our bags while waiting to get the safe set (this only took a few minutes from the call to the desk). The housekeeper een made us towel animals every day!

Food: We ate at the buffet every morning except the one day we had an early excursion. Breakfast runs until noon so you can still make it if you stay up late partying! They have a small continental breakfast set up in the lobby bar for those who are up early and are going on excursions. The main breakfast buffet is pretty good. They have fresh made omlets and fried eggs made to order. They also have fresh pasteries (that I ate every day!) The waffles are behind the egg station and are made by the same cook to order...I didnt know about them until the 6th day and they are MUCH better than the pancakes and french toast that are in the buffet. We only ate at the buffet once for lunch as we usually didnt want to get redressed or werent at the resort for it. The one we did have had really good ribs and kabobs at the grill area. Over by the quiet pool during lunch hours the Bellavista will serve you either at the pool or in the restaurant if you arent too wet. They have AWESOME burgers (I know I know who eats burgers in Mexico but really they are darn good) the pizza wasnt good at all. We made reservations at two of the specialty restaurants. The Italian one was pretty good. There wasnt as much flavorings as I would put into them but still good. Have the Flambe! We also ate once at the seafood/steakhouse. That was pretty good also again not as much seasoning as we like but still pretty good. It was nice to not eat at a buffet. The service was great at all the restaurants. They also have a small buffet that has either mexican or snacks until very late. Pretty good stuff there too.

Drinks: Like I hear about most All inclusives they were watered down. HOWEVER I think that considering the amount that most people are drinking it is doing a public service. I never failed to get at minimum a good buzz going! LOL! Migal at the swim up bar in the sexy pool is the BEST and he would make them stronger if you asked. My drink was never empty. Ask him for a rainbow shot...YUM!

Entertainment: There is ALOT going on at this hotel! However if quiet solitde is more your thing stay by the quiet pool. There were always chairs at that pool open and there is a swim up bar there too! The poolside entertainment starts at 10am and run all day. Chairs by this pool fill up quick. There was anything from horseshoes to volleyball to the "contests" Like Mr. and Miss BlueBay. The majority of the contests are "adult" in nature and people sometimes end up with their cothes off. But rememeber it is a topless optional resort (by the pools and beach only) so many of the contestants may be half naked to begin with. The people who are so disgusted with this hotel's entertainment...well frankly I just dont understand. While it isnt "classy" there is enough info on the web to tell you what you are in for at BBG and yet you choose to stay there. I mostly knew what I was in for. I did see naked people and that was a bit of a surprise. I ended up participating in a game my first day at the pool. It was a bit more than I expected (watch out for crazy darts....) but I was able to roll with the punches. All the games were fun to watch and laugh at. If you didnt know in advance about these things the quiet pool was just a few steps away. Not sure what the deal with the YMCA and Mexico is but I heard it daily at the resort and then at other places too. There was nightly entertainment at the hotel bar "Nice Shoes". We only went to that bar once but i did hear good things about other nights. The hotel entertainment staff also took you to a club each night with all inclusive for a 40 dollar fee. There was a booze cruise also on Friday nights only for BBG. That was fun. And dont forget to utilize channel 12 every chance you get while in the room...it is free! ;O) There are free Hobiecats with lessons that was a ton of fun.

Beach: there were always plenty of chairs on the beach. It wasnt the most stellar beach as there was a rocky area and there was quite a bit of seaweed but they did work hard to clean it up. Lots of shells.

My biggest complaint was not getting a wake up call for a day trip that we requested and almost missed the trip. Bring a clock. Also I wish there had been a HOT TUB. Each pool has 4 sunk in areas with jets but they share the unheated pool water so it wasnt the same.

Out and about: We went off grounds a few times. One day we took the ferry over to Isla Murjeres and spent the day driving a golf cart around over there. That place is Beautiful. Do like we did and go on your own. Take your golf cart over to the far side of the island. There are some BEAUTIFUL places to pull over and just take in the ocean views. We also went to Xel Ha. That was fun also. We also went on the pirate dinner cruise. The dinner was good as were the drinks. The show was entertaining but it had me longing to have my kids there....LOL!

There is no place better to go. My husband and i go to BBG the last week of February ever year and would not trade it for anything. Chinos group is the best and seeing the same acts each year never gets old since most of the participant have never been there before and have no idea what they are about to do.

Like other reviews have said the food is ok it does get rather old but that will happen anywhere you go. The Chinese restaurant is the best. We do not go to BBG for the food we go for the fun. So far there is about 15 couples that return every year the same week as we do and it is always fun to see familiar faces as well as new ones.

The adult only Booz Cruise is always fun and do not be afraid to get on a bus and ride around town to see all there is to do.

I went back to BBG march06-20/07 third time I will NOT go back to Cancun in march the BBG gets the teachers but the rest of Cancun gets the studentsdid not go to my favorite bar COCObongos because of it being so packed I went to the small bars by myself and had a great time. The second week I went to dadyrock and bullfrog, after bullfrog went to downtown cancun with a couple of friends(they work at the resort) and partied there with them BBG is great at anytime, but i will not go back where spring breakers are. On the resort I went sailing on the hobiecat(it's free to guests)and I went on the MAR Y TER twice which is a luxury yacht for the BBG. I will be going back to BBG but not in march or april. this is the only resort i go to.Hey teachers I feel your pain!

This was my husband and mine 4th time to Mexico but first time to BBG. Went to BBG from 3/21-3/28, ages 26-29, went with another couple. If you like to shop take the bus to market 28, there is walmart down there, The food does suck and so does the beach losts of seaweed and rocks which is not cleaned up everyday.Alot of review say tip your bar tenders and staff we did for a while but it did get old very fast, the drinks stayed the same and so did the service, so i guess that up to you. The entertainment was GREAT, I recommed the contest at the pool from noon until like 3pm lots of fun. My husband and i did almost every contest, now here is the bad thing please read Every thing was great except one thing, PLEASE DONOT STAY ON A GROUND FLOOR, MY HUSBAND I GOT UPGRADED WHEN WE JOINED THE RCI, FROM ROOM #1323 TO ROOM #1140. THE LAST NIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT OUR ROOM WAS BROKEN INTO. OUR LAP TOP, CAMCORDER PERSONAL BELONGS(UNDERWARE AND BRAS) AND GIFTS WHERE TAKEN. THE HOTEL WAS REALLY NO HELP, THEY LEFT THE PIECE WOOD USED TO BREAK IN OUR ROOM NEXT TO THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR. oH YA THEY DID PAY FOR MY HUSBAND TAXI TO THE POLICE OFFICE. WE ARE HOME NOW. We did meet some great people, James and Heather. o h ya can't forget Karen, everyone knows karen she is alot of fun. If you would ask me, would i ever go back to BBG, after being robbed. my answer would be YES, yeah it sucks being robbed but hey that can happen at home, i can replace all of that stuff. but the impression of this hotel was great everything goes there. just be carefeul with your belongs, if you do go to this hotel have lost of fun and be open minded.......

We just returned from another great trip at Blue Bay. It was my fiance's 1st time there and my second. And once again I was not disappointed. Here is a quick run down of the pros and cons of our trip and Blue Bay...

Food: The breakfast's were great. There was lots of variety and went till noon. We usually went twice in the morning. Lunch and dinner at the buffet was a little disappointing. The food lacked flavour and it seemed to be the same thing every night. At the end of the week we found ourselves going out to eat. The a la carte restraunts were quite good. There was a lunch restaurant that made bugers, pizza, ect. There are also 3 dinner restaurants - an Italian, Seafood and Asian. We didn't go to the Seafood one but the rest were amazing. It made up for the lack at the buffet.

Room: The room was very nice. Nothing special though. It had everything that we needed. Check out channels 12 and 14 when you get there. Everyday they make a different animal for you out of the towels. We had a beautiful view. There were no complaints.

Service: There service overall was great. They accommodated or tried to accommodate everything that we asked for. As with all Mexican resorts, if you trip the bartenders at the start of the week you get a little better and faster service.

Drinks: There was more than enough to go around. They have Pina Coloda's and Strawberry Daquari's pre-made and in slushie machines. Anything that you wanted they could and would make for you.

Activities: What we loved about Blue Bay is that if you wanted to participate in the activities there was more than enough to fill your schedule. If you just wanted to lay on the beach they left you alone. As other comments have stated... if you are appose to nudity, swearing, and are not openly comfortable about sexuality this might not be the resort for you. Their tagline is "Nobody knows you, and nobody gives a (--)."

Beach: The beach was very nice. They have lost some sand since the last time I was there but they are working at bringing it back. There are two sides to the resort and beach. One side is quite with no music and much more subdue while the other is the 'party side' with the activities, music, ect.

Overall we had a great time. I've been all over the Carribean and to many different types of resorts. I wouldn't go here on my honeymoon but it doesn't mean that I wouldn't go back. It's a great cost effective place to go where you know that you are going to get great service for your money. It's not luxury, but it's a lot of fun. You'll find what you are looking for here.
