Cancun Inn El Patio is clean -- that's about the best I can say about it. Of course cleanliness is important when you're staying at a budget hotel in a Third World country.
You can expect zero ammenities -- no bottled water or shampoo. They give you two small sandpapery towels placed on the bed spread and under the remote control. My hypoconrdiac wife helpfully pointed out that the bed spread and remote are always the two most unsanitary items in any hotel room, making their contact with our only two towels a little disconcerting.
But for $65 per night, you just learn to deal with these things.
The location isn't bad at all -- in a upper class neighborhood on a major road in downtown Cancan, just a couple blocks from the plaza and all the popular bars and restaurants. We appeared to be the only guests in the place, adding a bit to the budget hotel creepiness factor.
The hotel clerk was friendly and helpful but didn't speak a word of English, which must be a challenge since I'm quite sure 99% of the hotel guests speak English.
Overall, it wasn't a bad place to stay, but next time, I'd probably spend another $20 to stay in a nicer place.
