My sister, brother, brother in law, and neice just got back from there. We went June 17-20, 2009. I didnt read the reviews till after I booked my trip there and was very nervous. Im 25 and went with a 19, 29,30 and 4 year old. For the price, the trip was great! I was scared because checking in did take about an hour. They only had 1 person and our Lomas Repretative called for the manager and did get another employee there to help us. After that we did even get to our rooms at 1:45 instead of waiting till 3pm. They were nice. The AC was cold, the bathrooms were great, and the view was beautiful. The entire resort is landscaped so beautifully. The room service is included and that was awesome. All the restraunts were good however we are very picky eaters. If my parents would of been there they would of LOVED IT! The pool was spectacular! There were quite a few people but the pool is so huge you arent crowded. The swim up bars offered great drinks. There were alot of younger adults but it was ok. The beach does have alot of boulders but this is due to the Hurricane that came through a few years ago. I dont blame them for putting them there to help stop eroision. You can go down a little and swim. We took a Jungle Tour excursion and recommend it to EVERYONE! It was worth every penny. If you want a vacation, time away this place is great. You have to go with an open mind and not expect a 5 Star resort for the price we pay! Also the nightly entertainment is worth it especially the circus show!

This was our second trip to Cancun in less tha10 months.
The Complex looks great for the street. It is too spread out. You have to do a lot of walking in the heat. There are limited public airconditioned places. Even the lobby is hot and humid.
Charges for the internet and safe are unexceptable.
The pool is large. Dont drink the pool water I did not see many people using the restrooms, too far of a walk.
tried to call the fron desk to report a fight on our floor I rang the phone for over 5 minutes no one answered.
There is on one person incharge.
Poll activites are lame very poor.
I agree with the other negitive reviews.
The only good was the bartenders they work hard I tiped them heavey. Most of the time I got top shelf, so I thought.

Hi fellow travelers,

My bf and I just returned from a 3 day trip from Cancun, it was my second time and his first. I fell in love with Cancun on my first trip...the beaches, people, culture. I didn't know what to expect this time around with the health scare and negative news surrounding Mexico.

I see the impact it has made on Cancun and it's tourism. Many of the hotels are shut down or running on half capiticy.

We stayed at the Grand Oasis Cancun. My first thing that you feel stepping into the lobby is how humid it is...something is not right one the hotel lobby/main complex is almost as humid/stuffy as outside...

Check in, we had to pay for a key to the room safe, about 3$ a day..., we were told that internet was $17 for 24-total hrs...bought that as well. They issue you a login & password.

My complaint is the high-pressure sale staff, pitching the timeshare...you ask a simple question such has...where is the business center, you open pandora box...the lady keep hounding my bf and I about coming to a free breakfast, etc...timeshare presentation. We politely declined.

Too high pressure.

My big complaint is....we misplaced the piece of paper that had the internet login/password...my bf used about 30 mins the night before and accidently threw it away...I asked the front desk to reissue a new one, since they track the purchase...they said no. We had to buy another one...$17 buck. What the heck??

The hotel overall was clean and nice...aside from being very humid on in the inside. Saving cost on AC? Certains drinks were extra...internet hit/miss, very high pressure timeshare pitch. They only give you 2 bottle of water per day in your room, we called room service to order a snack and asked for 2 bottles, they said no...only 1. Food was good, Grand Oasis's fanciest restaurant requires 1 day reservation...is overated.

I have stayed at other resorts in the hotel zone that is more relaxing and equally as nice.

I was very turned off by the high pitch timeshare sale, paying for safe, not willing to replace the lost internet login, and the lobby/main complex being so humid.

the front desk was definitely the worst part about the whole vacation. we arrived at the hotel around 3 and didnt get to our room until 4:15. we were the only ones in line waiting to check in when we got there and it took over an hour! FOR PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 30, DO NOT PAY FOR ROOM INSURANCE! ITS A SCAM. they tried to scam us by saying because we were under the age of 25, we had to pay $27 per person for room insurance. they told the people next to us that since they were under 27, they had to pay! we thought it was kind of scetchy so we asked to see it in writing. the guy checking us in left for a half hour to go type up a paper! finally we got a manager and he gave us all our money back! then the guy came back with the paper he just typed and was upset that he just wasted his time. whenever we called the front desk to get something they were always slow, or we would have to call a couple more times to get what we wanted.anyway, now for the good stuff.....the bartenders were awesome as well as the restaurant service. food was good too, with a nice variety of restaurants. overall we felt pretty safe there. there was a good mix of people. oasis cancun is connected to it, so if you are young and looking for a fun atmosphere then i would suggest hanging out on that side. the plus to grand oasis is you get access to everything in both hotels. the beach was nice, the water is beautiful. the place was always very clean and everyone was extremely nice. for the most part it was a great hotel, just hated the front desk service!! we also did 2 excursions. the isla mujeres tour which was amazing and probably the best part of the trip! and we did the jungle tour which was not worth the money. also, go to coco bongo! its a fun experience :)

Well I can say the reviews on here are somewhat concerning....

My daughter and I arrived at 1pm Sunday June 7th. We were immediately ushered to a Cnocierge Desk and quickly checked in. I asked Yessica if we had two beds and she went to the room herself to see. It was not so she made the change and came back with our room keys. A+ on check in.

We arrived to a clean and sufficent room. Later that evening we did hae to call for maintenance because the tub drain was stuck and would not open. We went to dinner after I told Oscar at the front desk about it. Oh and the hair dryer was hard wired in the wall but the hard wire was out and open so i asked them to fix that as well. This issue was not fixed while at dinner and I spoke with Oscar again at the front desk. Hector at the front desk verified the info and they got someone there right away. Prbolem mostely fixed. The drain was not completely fixed but it was not an issue for us.

The pools were clean and well posistioned. the beach was definately rocky but not the hotels fault. Go down two hotels and swim at their beach it's nice. (we will visit that soon).

Now for the only downfall we saw at the resort.... The food was the same almost every night with little to please our pallet. We are not snobs by any means and what we ate was really good. There just didn't seem to be a large variety fro us to choose. No worries though.

I did not see one person that was put out in any way by the hotel on either side. The party side was lively and we saw these folks everywhere having a good time.

We did go to the Oasis Beach Club and Grand Oasis Carribean (very nice relaxed beach) and fun people there. We went twice to this hotel. It was nice and very fun. the beach is a lazy lopping water beach if you like this. We did and had a ball. Ask for Alfonzo at the outdoor bar near the Oasis Beach club. He is GENUINLY GREAT!!

We stayed our last night at the Gran Melia Cancun two hotels north of the Oasis. Very nice beach some rocky places but there was a place to get into the ocean and play there.

Go and have fun!!!
