Look, i am 24 years old. i have stayed at the best hotels and the worst hotels.
never in my life have i been so disgusted by a hotel. but i can honestly say this is the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. its so bad i opened up a travel advisor account just to complain somewhere, cause i complianed at hotel and they didnt even care. if you want a dirty pool, terrible free food and drinks; the water smells its actually famous for that, towels old, sheets dirty and cacaroches. oh and if your under 27 years of age they will charge you 27 dlls as a security fee. staff is terrible, and you wait for hours to get a room. if you bring a girl at night that you met after club they charge you 50 dlls just to spend night till 9am; imagine our surprise 7 nights in a row. (expensive) . but ok, if you want to party and dont care the food is terrible, alcohol worse, dirty pool, terrible service and like paying extra for bullshit things; sure why not come over you ll love this hotel.

First of all, check in and check out went very smooth! We booked our trip in the main pyramid...got there and they stuck us in the old part! Reacked of smoke! They forced us to pay an upgrade! We did! The service was great! The food was not too bad, although nothing spectacular! The pool area was good. Everything was very clean and well maintained! The service and kindness of the staff were amazing! We will never return to this hotel! The beach was absolutely terrible! ROCKS everywhere! When I say rocks, I mean "HUGE" boulders! Very unpleasant! They kept saying it was do to the hurricane that was 4 years ago! WOW! My father in law cut his leg, my husband cut his leg! A few people ended up in the hospital due to wounds suffered on the beach! I definately would not recommend this hotel to anyone with kids. We only went to the beach two times out of 7 days! I personally go to Mexico for the ocean...not the pool!

Once in 2003 and once in 2007.

It was great in 2003. In 2007 not so great. It wasn't awful but it has gone downhill. I would chose a different resort if I ever go back again. I doubt I will though. I always get sick from someone slipping water in something while I am there. I have been going to other countries now and doubt I will be going back to Mexico again.

It is just overrun now with young kids because it is cheap.

We got engaged while we were here and we had a great time. Your trip is what you make it :).

OMG! Arrived, room not ready...no big deal, well eat! The restaurant and pool area immediately impressed me. Free food...ok..breathtaking view...Wow! The first 15 were great ones. We travelled, all 9 of us in 4 different rooms for a bachelor party.
After eating the gross food in the nice restaurant, we walked into the lobby at 3 when they said the room would be ready. From here its all downhill. There was over 100 people waiting, some on honeymoon, the hotel staff couldnt even say what the issue was, no rooms were ready and they were telling people to come back in 2 hours...
People were asking for the manager, and noone would come forth and say who the manager was. It was the most bizarre experience.
After hours of waiting we got a room in Phase 1 or 2. Im not sure which, but we didnt stay in the hotel with the lobby or the pyramid shapped. We stayed in the old ones. Got into the room, it was cleaned up ok. The sheets smelled along with the comforter and pillows. Remember this hotel you cannot lose your room key ($100), towel key ($15), or safe key ($65).! The room was just ok, the towels were super old, and very rough feeling.
People partied and made noise all night, the elevator didnt work and we carried our bags ourselfes to our room on the 5th floor.
There was coacroaches, it rained in the room, the door would not lock all the way, we lost total electricity for 3 or 4 hours, room service ordered at 1am, was delivered to our room at 530 am while we were sleeping, they walked right into the room when we didnt answer door, oh and the service when you call anywhere is awfuill...
We were supposed to have a mini fridge and didnt....just a great pool.
The food was not good at 4 or 5 resturants we ate at. The complaints go on an on. Everyone whoe worked at the bars there would not want to serve you unless you had "propina" or tip money! bring singles, lots of singles if your expecting good service.
