We have a timeshare in our hometown and used it to go elsewhere for the first time. We chose the Sunset Lagoon Hotel & Marina Resort and loved it!! It's like a Little Greek Village. The staff was very nice and kept you busy all day long (but did not bug you). The younger staff were amazing (going from 7:00am - 3:00am)! Lots of variety when it comes to the food - we left with a few pounds added on. The Lobster dinner was very good and the presentation was very nice. The room was very comfortable. We went with another couple and had our own bedroom which gave us our own privacy. Rooms were kept clean and the fridge was stocked daily. The newly renovated rooms looked gorgeous. We stayed on the beach side (which was not renovated yet) as we were told the street side may be a bit noisier (this was a good tip). The resort was very clean. We were up every morning, early to breakfast (7:00am) and the restaurant was clean along with the pool. Lots of excursions we booked left from the Marina which is in walking distance (2 minutes away) so it was nice to not have to find transportation. The staff at the front desk (Erik & Areida in particular) were very helpful and very polite. There wasn't a lot of damage done by the hurricane (or they sure got things fixed up fast) at this particular resort but a lot of resorts are still not up and running due to the hurricane. Everything was up and running at the Sunset Lagoon. The only thing that we could not do was take the water transportation to the sister resort - The Royal Sunset. The beach was completely wiped out over there ( a lot more damage). If you are looking for a quiet place to visit with not a lot of traffic, then you'll enjoy staying here!!

The entire staff of the hotel activities outside and in the evening worked from the morning until late at night to make that the families and children had a fun time. When I saw my wife and children having fun with them it was good to see this hotel was for families. The entire staff were kind and friendly.

Our second trip. We were there Feb.18-25. Still a little damage from Wilma but service was excellant!
And so nice that they remembered us from 2 years ago. Will return next year.
You can do alot here or just relax. Have lots of pictures. Hope to post later.
Then we went to Fisherman's for the following week. Two weeks is the only way to go!

this resort is awesome even though they were busy geting some of it back together from Wilma...it very very good ..excellent suite we had the 2 bdrm presidential suite and I was very impressed with it...
the staff was always there to take care of your needs.. the whole experience was wonderful and we will go back there....soon I hope..:D
