My parents own a time share there and my family (wife and 2,11,and 13 year olds) and parents went for a week this August. It was the all-inclusive package. The staff was VERY friendly and always looking to please. They also kept the kids busy with actvities.The rooms were very clean, big, and well furnished. The hotel grounds were very well maintained. The staff supplied us with cartons of milk for our 2 year old daughter. The food wasn't bad. The alcohol was watered down..even the "premium" stuff. Breakfest was good but lunch and dinner seemd to get "tiresome' by the 5th night. I would have liked to seen the hotel pool a little cleaner. There is no ocean beach at Sunset Lagoon. But they do provide a free 10 minute boat ride (which was actually fun) to the Sunset Royal which has a gorgeous beach. As a member you can use all of their facilities too...including the restaurants. I enjoyed the lunches there. I had expected to be approached by timeshare salespeople but wasn't.

I would return for another vacation....

My family and I were there this past Feb. You'll see by the title of this review how much I enjoyed my stay. I have been in one star hotels that have better room service. The food was the worst. If you have a vacation planed here, I would truly reconsider!

We have just return from a week at Sunset Lagoon. The hotel was great and the staff was outstanding. This was the first time we have ever been to Cancun and we loved it. My uncle has a timeshare at this place and was nice enough to let us use it. It was myself, husband and 2 boys ages 8 and 16. Neither of them were bored there was something for them to do everyday. Yes we did get approach to by a timeshare the first day and really felt bad to say no....the salesperson was superb and really understood why we had to decline...but it just wasn't the right time for us to purchase and my hubby and I agreed that if next year we did return we will be re-consider. After that one tour we had we were never brother about it again for the rest of the stay.
The rooms were great and very clean we had an awesome view of the lagoon from our patio and our own personal hot tub :-))))
Everyone was great and very freindly and made us feel very welcome. The food was outstanding and waiter were awesome they really took the time to remember what type of drinks you order and would serve you before they would come and ask... you never got bored eating the same thing 3 nights of our stay they had outside dinner with great dancing show for the whole family to enjoy. Ladies they have a great SPA!!!!
The activity staff Ceasar, Jackie and Johnny were wonderful they really made the place come alive with their jokes, attention to the kids, great personailties and their energy. My kids are still dancing to PUMP IT UP...lol!!!!
All and All this place was wonderful and we will return

From the friendly greeting upon arrival to the assistance with luggage when leaving, I found the entire experience to be 5 star. The customer service is great....once someone hears your name, they call you by it. The bartender knew my drink order by the second day. Housekeeping was great.....we were not the neatest guests and certainly appreciated always coming back to a clean room and full wet bar. I took the tour and actually purchased a timeshare during my stay. I cannot say enough about the great people and beautiful land they have to share with you!
