We had never been to Cancun, but will definitely go back!
Spent 4 luxurious days at LeBlanc at the end of February. Very contemporary, with white being the main theme. Room overlooked the lagoon pool and the lagoon. It was very nice. romm was very well appointed with a king sized bed, double closets, jacquzzi tub, single vanity, large shower with 2 rainheads at either end and 4 other jet shower heads. All tiled with glass door and a seating area in the shower as well. Large, flat screen TV, nice sized dresser with mini frige and 4 bottle of liquor in it to use, included in the price of the room. Amenities included a bottle of wine, terrycloth robes, slippers, large bottles of complimentary toiletries, chocolates on the vanity at night.
Pools were very nice as well. When the larger infinity pool on the beach side would be shaded in the afternoon, we would just move to the lagoon side pool. Both have a swim up bar too! There was another pool on an upper level as well as a pool with jets near the beach. These pools must be heated, as I found out when I moved to another property later in the trip. This was where the all-adult aspect of the property was nice. No kid noises coming from the pool area. Just adults enjoying themselves. We met many people, just drinking our rum punches, viewing the beach from the pool. It was heaven!
Can't really address the restaurants. We only ate the buffet at the international restaurant and it looked very nice with freshly made grill items. I'm a picky eater, so I really can't comment on the restaurants, but I heard good things about the italian one. They also have an Asian themed one and another one that I don't know the name or theme of, but I heard it did a good surf & turf.
Bars served top shelf liquor and beers and were plentiful. Again, I found this quality out after moving to another property later. The lobby bar had a great view out over the pool to the beach and was a great meeting area. Plus, they served continental style breakfast there in the morning and pastries in the afternoon.
Check-in was efficient, staff was pleasant and helpful. We didn't use the floor butler or the choice of pillow types (there are 5). They had lots of available bottled water, but we used ice in our drinks and never had a problem.
There is still a lot of building going on on the strip, mainly larger,multi-storied buildings. I think Cancun is remaking itself into an upperclass destination and hopefully, getting away from the spring break crowd. This is maybe even more true due to the fact that most college kids don't have passports and don't want to pay to get one right now.
