Ok here's the deal the hotel is clean, They are very nice when you go to the front desk, But if you are all inclusive and you try and get a drink. THEY WILL NOT SERVE YOU!!! You can't even get eye contact unless you have a $5.00 bill in your hand, which you end up paying $5.00 a drink every time you go to the bar. They do not know what all inclusive means. You have to pay for beach towels if you don't bring them back every day and check out a new one everyday, Thay all want tips for EVERYTHING they do. NO BEACH!

i really liked this hotel. check-in was fairly easy. stayed in the new tower- rooms were really clean with nice, modern decor. the bed was very comfortable with crisp, clean sheets and a nice fluffy duvet. tv was flat screen and had cable (but mostly in spanish- disney and nickelodeon all dubbed in spanish, for those with kids). i liked the rain shower head in the bathroom even though the half-open shower left the floor wet and the toiletries included lotion, shampoo, face and body soap, shower cap, sewing kit, and first aid kit. the pools, lounge chairs, and general area were clean from what i could see. check-out was pretty easy, too.

but then again...
after reading all the recent negative reviews, i don't have much to complain about because i wasn't all-inclusive, didn't eat on site, never went to the bar, didn't swim in the pools, didn't need service or maintenance, and didn't care about the beach. we used the hotel to shower and sleep. and, yes, the walls are thin. i could here our next door neighbor pop open a can of soda and you can hear the footsteps down the hall but neither myself, boyfriend, or best friend (who stayed in another room) had any problems sleeping. there was a 2 hour blackout after midnight the first night we were there (March 7th). i was sleeping, it bugged the bf since he was watching tv at the time. and even though i put the 'do not disturb' sign on our door, housekeeping came into our room and cleaned and replaced our toiletries and towels anyway. not that big of a deal to me.

so, if you're like me- not picky and need an affordable, beautiful, clean property in a great location to sleep and shower in, i highly recommend the nh krystal. enjoy my pics of the hotel!

Unfortunately, most of the reviews are quite accurate - the hotel definitely did not live up to our expectations. Here are the main reasons why we did not like the hotel: 1) We chose not to have the all inclusive package (which, based on some other reviews was a good choice). Unfortunately, we were not made aware that the hotel has a policy that you cannot bring in any of your own food or bevs into the rooms. We came back from Subway one evening with a few to-go sandwiches and a few bottles of juice/water/beer and were stopped in the lobby by the security guard. He ESCORTED us to the front desk who told us they would have to confiscate our food and beverages as we are not allowed to bring any outside food into our rooms. After about 15 mins of "discussion" they told us this was our last time. (The remainder of the time we brought in any groceries/food/bevs in our backpacks). 2) We had the same exact problem as a couple discribed on a review posted back in Summer 2008: The battery for the lock on our door was malfunctioning. We had to ask SIX different times to have it fixed and after the third day, some one from the front desk reluctantly and rudley came to our room (which was on the first floor, closest to the lobby), removed the back panel of the lock and moved the batteries around. It worked successfully from there onward. 3) The pictures displayed are beautiful. Unforunately, there no longer is a beach infront of the hotel and the waves come right up - splashing against the retaining wall where many of the lounge chairs are. The "waterfall" in the main pool is not operating. There is bird poop on many of the lounge chair cusions. Make sure you dont go during spring break if you would like to get a full nights rest as you can hear a pindrop in you room from the poor accoustics in the hallways and adjacent rooms. 4) Front desk, lobby security, and bellman definitely need to work on their customer service. Overally they seemed unhappy and unwilling to help.

Although there were some issues we had with the hotel, the value was still reasonable and we were able to stick to our budget. However, my advice is that there may be several other hotels in this price range that would probably suite your needs and expecations a bit better. It may be a good idea to request the newer building, as there are two seperate structures. Fortunately, overall we really enjoyed our trip to Cancun and would definitely go again - just to a different hotel. Hope you enjoy your stay!

We were excited to be one of the first guests in the new Krystal Club area. It was stated to have officially opened Feb. 15, 2009. Construction isn't exactly completed. We arrived in our room to find the bathroom counter top was a piece of wood. The bed was comfortable but the frame was cosmetically damaged. Don't know if it got busted moving it in or it was an old one brought it. The marble floors you could tell weren't cleaned very well. They had the gritty feeling of construction debris. I saw the cleanining lady with a broom and mop everyday, but it didn't seem to help.
The all-inclusive seemed to be a red-flag for "you won't be tipping so you aren't a priority".
And even when we tipped to keep the drinks coming it seems to matter, 10 minutes meant at least 30 minutes. We ended up ordering two at a time and then placed our next order right away.
The buffet food got old quickly. The only hot breakfast food guarantee was a freshly prepared omelet. For lunch you can order off a menu in the cafe and have something prepared fresh. Room service, of course plan on a wait. Don't order anything you expect to be warm. The french fries were ice cold. The Hacienda restaruant that you need to make reservations for was great! Food and service were excellent. The waiter told us when we sat down that everything without a asterick by it was included. And I made a note for after dinner the flaming coffees sounded good. When we asked about ordering them after dinner all of a sudden they weren't included. So we asked to see a menu and asked him to repeat his statement about the astericks. So he had to "check with his manager". He came back happy to report that we had special approval. ya right!
The dine out program was nice. We headed to Margaritaville and had a blast!
If you are going March-April bring ear plugs if you plan on getting any sleep before 3am.
The spring break parties are really loud and there is NO sound proofing of the rooms. Two nights we had the pleasure of hearing our neighbors in a heated argument for a half hour.
We did love the balcony rooms and left the patio doors open and fell asleep to the ocean waves... when the parties were over of course.
The beach you see in the pictures doesn't exit, for real. Even though I read a couple reviews that said the same thing, I kept looking at the pictures and didn't want to believe it. However, if you walk just 5-6 min. south, there is some beach. Bring water shoes, very rocky. You'll walk through a little spot with grass umbrellas, sand and lounge chairs, you have to be up before 7am to put your towel and a book or something to save a spot, but one day someone didn't play by the unsaid rule and took our spots anyways.
We made the best of it, got our share of sunshine, but I would not go back.
I have plenty of pictures to show the lack of beach, oh and the hot tub is not a hot tub, it's just another pool. The "beds" on the beach you see in the pictures, are not on the beach, they are up close to the hotel and you have to pay $30 to use them.
