I first want to say that this was my first trip out of my country, therefore, this is my first stay in a hotel out of my country and only my second stay in a hotel.
With that said, I had a good time at the Omni.
When we arrived, our bags were taken care of promptly and we met with a representative who gave us a bottle of water and explained to us where things were in the hotel. We were then escorted to our rooms and left to do as we pleased.
We had a lagoon view room that was pretty nice with our own balcony. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We did notice that the ESPN channel that was suppose to be in English would switch between English and Spanish but, that is very minor since we weren't there to watch TV. The shower/bath was clean and the water was hot with nice pressure.
Moving on to the food. The buffet style restaurant was really nice with seats inside and outside. The waiters were also very attentive and friendly. Each night there was a different theme for food. I also had the chance to eat at the Da Vinci. You have to make a reservation beforehand in order to eat here. Make sure that you bring restaurant attire as men must have a collared shirt and no shorts for women or men. Also, keep your bathing suit in your room or covered.
There were beautiful pools and swim-up bars which, I unfortunately did not try out. I am kicking myself for that now but, do try them as they looked very clean and relaxing. I never saw overcrowding in the pools and they stayed open pretty late.
The beach part of the hotel was not very big and there was a small area where there were places to relax. There were many rocks on the shore and I did not see anyone in the water as it did not look safe to get in. However, I did notice on my way to the hotel that there is a public beach where the locals go. However, I did not go to see it.
This hotel was overall very nice and the layout is easy to follow and great-looking. For those who want fast food, there is a McDonald's and subway across the street. Also across the street, is an ATM.
