me and my husband were nervous about booking a hotel but after reading all the reviews on the Omni we booked there and were very pleased. The people who work in this hotel never stop cleaning. Our room was nice overlooking the pools and ocean every morning when i woke up i could not help but look at the view. The pool staff had music and games going everyday.Me and my husband cant wait to go back!!!

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the Omni in Cancun. We recommend this to anyone who is looking for a very well run hotel that has almost everything you would require during a one week stay in Cancun: beautiful beach (check out my pictures), good food, great room, and incredible service.

We went to Cancun for our daughter’s spring break to relax and get some sun. Most of the hotels have lost their beach but the Omni still has a little one with a cute little bar on it. You can’t swim in the ocean because of the waves and the rocks. If you walk down to the Hilton—they had a small patch sand where people were swimming but it would too dangerous for children. My daughter loves swimming pools anyway so she had the best time.
We did not do the all inclusive here because we wanted variety but did eat breakfast everyday which was yummy. The dinner buffet restaurant was passable but let’s face it, inclusives are not gourmet. The Da Vinci restaurant was just ok. One night we went across the street to Captains Cove for dinner. The view of the bay and the sunset was beautiful. The food was good (I love seafood). The best part of dinner was the resident alligator who would swim up beside the tables and beg for scraps—my daughter and all the other kids loved this. Note—this is probably why you would not want to swim in the bay. On other night we went to Harry’s steakhouse, a short bus ride and then we walked back—it was expensive and high-end. The staff there was very nice and the food good. My daughter also loved the shows and on the Friday all the kids got on the stage after and danced.
We did the Chichen Itza trip. Don’t let them fool you—it was a 3 hour bus ride there and 2.5 on the way back. It was fun but a bit much for a 5 yr old.
We got a basic room facing the Bay. It had a nice view and balcony but they face the air conditioner fans which you can here sometimes. I would splurge for the ocean side if this is your main vacation of the year. The rooms were clean and fairly updated and had flat screen tvs. There was a damp smell when we arrived—as is the case with most Caribbean locations—but it diminished during our stay—when you get your own smell in. I would recommend that the hotel get a nicer smelling cleaner—they clean the floors with ammonia which is not that pleasant. The beds were comfortable enough but no luxurious linen or pillow top mattresses.
Tip: join the Omni hotels rewards club before or when you get there. We got wireless internet throughout the whole hotel and morning coffee, newspaper and beverage everyday for free!
The grounds are well kept and there are 3 pools. You have a great view of the ocean from the pools and it is really beautiful. One reviewer mentioned the hot tub and they are correct—kids in it constantly. In my opinion the Hotel should not allow babies with diapers—that just gross. The swim-up bar on the beach is a hot tub too—so go there to get away from the kids.
We thought the staff was very nice and helpful without being obsequious. The hotel had games and contests for the kids but it wasn’t like some hotels that blare “party” music all through the day. We were approached for the time-share but after saying no once—no one bugged us again. We were also there during the Swine Flu scare (we found out later) but not of us got sick.
All I can say is we had a great relaxing time. Just what we needed.

I first want to say that this was my first trip out of my country, therefore, this is my first stay in a hotel out of my country and only my second stay in a hotel.

With that said, I had a good time at the Omni.
When we arrived, our bags were taken care of promptly and we met with a representative who gave us a bottle of water and explained to us where things were in the hotel. We were then escorted to our rooms and left to do as we pleased.

We had a lagoon view room that was pretty nice with our own balcony. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We did notice that the ESPN channel that was suppose to be in English would switch between English and Spanish but, that is very minor since we weren't there to watch TV. The shower/bath was clean and the water was hot with nice pressure.

Moving on to the food. The buffet style restaurant was really nice with seats inside and outside. The waiters were also very attentive and friendly. Each night there was a different theme for food. I also had the chance to eat at the Da Vinci. You have to make a reservation beforehand in order to eat here. Make sure that you bring restaurant attire as men must have a collared shirt and no shorts for women or men. Also, keep your bathing suit in your room or covered.

There were beautiful pools and swim-up bars which, I unfortunately did not try out. I am kicking myself for that now but, do try them as they looked very clean and relaxing. I never saw overcrowding in the pools and they stayed open pretty late.

The beach part of the hotel was not very big and there was a small area where there were places to relax. There were many rocks on the shore and I did not see anyone in the water as it did not look safe to get in. However, I did notice on my way to the hotel that there is a public beach where the locals go. However, I did not go to see it.

This hotel was overall very nice and the layout is easy to follow and great-looking. For those who want fast food, there is a McDonald's and subway across the street. Also across the street, is an ATM.

We traveled with friends for 5 days all inclusive. The ocean front rooms were to die for! Overlooked the pools and the ocean. The hotel was spotless and the food as great for all inclusive. After the 4th day the food was boring and we were dying for American food so we ate out.

The beaches are rocky and you cannot swim in the area due to the terrible hurricane damage from a couple years back. So we made use of the pools and all the drinks we could drink. All employees were very friendly and helpful.

Take the bus to downtown its dirt cheap.

There is a smell of mold or something within the room. All of our clothing still smells of it. Could be due to the climate. Its not due to flith, nor did I see mold. Upon arriving I used the bathroom in the lobby and two maids were on the floor scrubbing the tiles with toothbrushes. It was immaculate. Not a finger print in the place.

They had great stage shows on Friday, sort of vegas style.

Rooms are large and bed was comfortable. Down side you have to pay for internet service around $12.00 a day.

Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel and will plan a future trip there.
