Good features: Hotel safe for children, nice and secure kid aquatic park, a big and amusing minigolf camp, good and wide kind of meals, a lot of pools, kindly and friendly staff, beautiful gardens.
Bad features: Awful beach, it was re-formed after Wilma and cement blocks appear from the sand, very dangerous for children and even for adults. Just a few meters separate the hotel wall from the water, so there is no space to get the sun. Absolutely the beach is not the best feature at this hotel. Be sure and choose the pools. Chairs on the beach and the pools were always reserved, although it is prohibited by the hotel, nobody respects this and they were always occuped. Bad wine quality in restaurants. Bad shows at night.
Summary: The children have a lot of entertainment during the day, and the parents could be quite because children are safe. Unfortunately the entertainments for adults are not as expected, there are no activities after 8 at night and restaurants and pools are closed, so you have to go sleep at 9. Thus, the day is very short and you go to bed expecting for something else. If you are looking for child vacation, this is the hotel, but if you want entertainment for yourself and your couple, do not choose this hotel.

This was our first trip to Cancun and all i can say is "WOW"!!!!! My family of 9, which consisted of myself, my girlfriend, her daughter, my brother, sister in law, two nieces, my nephew and his girlfriend, all stayed at Crown Paradise from June 22-July 1. We were immediately greeted with a nice cold mimosa and the kids with fruit smoothies. Don't pay attention to any of the bad reviews some people give. This place is awesome.

The staff is always hard at work keeping the place clean and keeping their guests happy. The rooms are pretty standard with nice views depending on what level and Tower you are placed at. The food was very good. My girlfriend and I loved the sushi, it was fresh just like here at home. My favorite restaurant was Los Gallos, I liked the atmosphere of the place. Wayne Boots, Fisherman's, La Piazza, and La Palapa were also great. We had excellent service the whole time from the bartenders and waiters, so be kind to them and tip. Make sure to bring along a big cup or buy one at the Gift Shop they don't mind refilling it for you, unless you don't mind drinking out of small 8 oz cups, but you will be going up to the bar often for a refill. The bars consist of Corona on tap and a good variety of mixed liquor top shelf at that. Just ask the bartenders and they will make almost anything you want, I enjoyed the "Miami Vice".

The pools and the beach were amazing. There are water slides near the back of the French restaurant, try them out you will have a blast. The beach water was so blue and warm I could stay there for hours. The sun is super strong down there so make sure to apply that sunblock regularly or else your going to get burned. If you have kids and want to get their hair braided. Go down to the beach and look for Maria and Ruby under the rainbow colored umbrella to the right of the hotel, they will braid hair for $15 dollars and that includes the beeds. They did my nieces and my daughters hair and it came out great.

If your looking to going into town, take the bus, it stops right in front of the hotel its about 80 cents to get on. Downtown is awesome, lots of neat shops for souvenirs at the flea market. Cheaper than the hotel, you will find good deals. Bargain with them. If you ever get tired of the hotel food, downtown has everything from Hard Rock Cafe to a good Taco Stand. We enjoyed our stay at Crown Paradise and hope to go back next year. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Enjoy your stay..............

Our 5th & LAST stay here. AC never got cold enough even after maintenenace looking at it.. Day manager rude when asked about closed pool. He kept telling us it would open tomorrow and rudely suggested we go sit down on the beach or by the french restaurant. People were wandering around looking for a place to sit. GYM worker rudely told me the rules are posted on the door and you must bring your own towel. He game me an "emergency" towel which was a washcloth. LOUD MUSIC coming from lobby at 1:30 a.m.! (& we were on 6th floor!) Twice the MAIDS left no washcloths & no soap. ROOM SERVICE had a problem delivering breakfast during the time asked for on the door hanger. On several occasions they were 20-30 minutes early. They didn't bring salt twice even when we ordered it with breakfast. Once they brought toast but no butter. All property restaurants were too warm. The RESTAURANT WAITERS/BARTENDERS were excellent and friendly. Front desk staff/management not friendly at all. We won't be going back to this hotel! Rumors are that it has new management.

Our stay was from 6-22-09 - 6-26-09.
This was our 1st trip to Cancun and found the hotel to be fine as I was wooried about some the the previous comments. The hotel is clean, the staff is always cleaning. No problems with the food wish we would have known about the sushi by the pool sooner than our last 2 days as my husband an 16 yr old son enjoyed the shrimp. We had great service form everyone and Jose that works in the buffet as our server. I found CPC aimed to pleased. Everything very well kept!! The beds were hard but room was clean with no complaints, plumbing and A/C worked just fine. I buffet did have the same repeat items but so what it was fresh for every meal as we ate their for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our trip consisted of my wife and two teenage kids and my brother with his wife and two young children. We stayed at this hotel from June 6 to June 13. We arrived late (evening) at this hotel due to our 5 hour flight delay. Check in was fast and the lady at the front desk was very friendly. We got to our rooms and check the view from our balcony and everything seemed okay for the night. The following day we wake up and check the view from our balcony only to see this old and aboned (ugly looking) resort property next to our hotel. The view to the ocean was beautiful, but the property next door made it feel so depressive. That same morning we went to talk to the manager on duty and try to get area loverlooking the pool (all rooms are ocean view) and after about 30 minutes of waiting for him at the lobby he told us that he would have a couple of rooms available in the area overlooking the pool by 1400 hours. We got our rooms on the fifth floor and what an amazing view from the balcony. I recommend you ask for this section b/c the view is incredible. You can see the palapa, huge pool (where all the day activity goes on) and the different shades of blue of the water with its white sandy beaches. Incredible!!

The FOOD:

I want to mention that we are not picky and that we have stayed in Cancun on four other occasions the past 8 years. We have stayed at the Sheraton, Melia Turquesa, and twice at the Riu Caribe. We have enjoyed all our stays in Cancun. I want to say that the food at the buffet in CPC was a little below average, since they had the same food(repeat) every other day
in the middle section of the buffet while the other sections they had Italian, Mexican, Chinesse (the same food) every day...and the same dessert every day. At the other hotels that we have stayed in they have same desserts every day but they varied the food more daily (Riu and MT). The snack bar by the pool is great. They have the best buffalo wings. they also serve burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc.. The ala Carta restaurants we went to were: Gallos (Mexican food) was great, the only place you could get Guacamole with your food(was great) all different plates we ordered were very good. the (Italian food) place was average at best. (Waynes boots)or steak house place was also pretty good. We did not get a reseravation to fishermans nor the french restaurants. Overall the food is good, except for the buffet which is average at best. If they can vary the food a liitle more, i can give them a better rating.

Bars:

We found the drinks to be very good at all the bars. The bartenders and waiters/waitresses worked very hard and would always approach you with a smile. Two of them that stand out of all of them were Ms Rebecca at the Trafalgar's bar one of the nicest waitresses we have ever met. Always with a smile and she made sure we always had drinks. During the day by the beach or the pool there was Mr David. He was one of the hardest working waiters we have ever seen (especially in the hot weather). He also would go around getting drinks for everyone. We gave them both and others good tips for there hard work.

Pools:

The pools were great. Both the kids and teens paradise were excellent for our kids. They enjoyed the slides every single day.

Beach:

Was awesome. The beach is wide and there is alot of sand. The only rocks i saw that most ppl compalin about was on the north side of the beach (but its only a very small section). The rest of the beach is beautiful.

Rooms:

The rooms were good. I had no problems with the A/C, the room was cold enough. The bathroom was good and the rooms were cleaned daily. My only complain was the hard beds (but all beds that i stayed in Cancun are all the same).

Elevators:

Very Slow and hot, of the three elevators servicing the two towers only two were working an one of them did not stop at the 3rd floor(luckily we had the 5th floor)

Entertainment staff:

They were all great. always working hard during the day by the pool and at night during their shows.

Overall, I do recommend this hotel to families with kids only. We had a blast during our stay there. My wife and I already booked a stay for August but this time we are staying at the Riu Cancun for our anniversary(no kids). Next year, we will probably return for another family trip, but maybe stay at another hotel.
