Just got back today and needed to write a review because other reviews that we read made us a little apprehensive. The hotel was great. It was peaceful but fun. There were no children or rowdy crowds! Kids are great if you are going on a family vacation but for relaxation and alone time this is the place for you! Just enough activities and shows to entertain. Great location to town and nightlife. Just a short bus ride to great nightlife and some shopping. The hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The ocean view was amazing! Couldn't have been better at any hotel in Cancun. Definitely get an ocean view room. Lagoon side is not bad but the ocean view is the most beautiful ever. We could lay in our bed and look onto the ocean. It felt like we were sleeping on the beach. Plenty of chairs, great beach, and good food! Lots of food. You will not be disappointed unless you are looking for a wild party hotel!

After reading quite a few mixed reviews I see where the bad reviews come from but I would not agree with any of those reviews. This is/was an adults only hotel and it has everything that I would expect in such a hotel.

Food was good across the board. Room service was 24/7 and ordered GRANDE COFFEE every morning and it came very fast. Breakfast buffet was really good because they had a VERY large choice of foods for almost any palete, but our favorite was the Mediterainian eatery that required you to reserve seats early. I suggest getting up and down to the lobby by 8AM to get in that same evening. Ricardo was the best and we had him as our waiter BOTH evenings.

Beverages were good as well as we were not there to get all messed up. A few dollars here and there and you could pretty much get whatever you would like and would also get you some GREAT service when the bars start getting busy. I stuck with the beer(Corona) and a shots of tequila(Sauza) here and there and that keep me just fine. When I needed a water it was not a problem and even though they don't give bottles of water I had no 'issues' at all. I highly suggest finding Miguel around the hotel bars as he took extremely good care of us and went above and beyond most of the time.

Hotel was very clean and neat. They were ALWAYS cleaning the windows and floors in and around the lobby and our room was quite clean as well. There were some dings in our door and some patched spots in the walls and ceiling but you have to keep in mind that there are thousands of people going through the rooms each year. If you are there to nit pick nicks in wood and what not then stay home as you should not be spending that much time worrying about the little things.

Beach and Pool were both very nice. There were always plenty of chairs to sit on and we didn't have to play the towel game to get a seat. Swim up bar was great and the water in the pool was very refreshing. Palm trees all over for those that require shade.

Spa was great but a bit overpriced for what you get. We did the couples luxury spa package and really enjoyed it. It ends with Champagne, Jaccuzi and chocolate covered strawberries! :-) Manicure and Pedicure were not worth it. Head to town for those.

ONE SUGGESTION - Those of you that don't stay up until 2AM and are light sleepers. Avoid Rooms 501-520 as level 4 is the lobby and the Disco-tech is down on 3. The stairs and the open air to level 5 allows some of that disco to penetrate a bit up the way.
---we were in room 515 and must have been to tired the first 4 days because we didn't notice it until the last 2 nights(nothing earplugs can't fix)--

when we arrived everyone was so nice and helpful the view was awesome the beach was great the food was good we did a lot of water sports it was all around a good vacation and def have plans on going again but watch your stuff because when the cleaning people came in to do their thing they stole the memory chips out of both our cell phones and the money we had with our personal belongings thank god it wasn't much but it coulda been other than that it was great we'll go again and keep a closer eye on our things

I was alittle worried about negative reviews but not true. went for 4d/3 nights. no problems at all. nobody in your face selling you stuff. beach beautiful,though waves rough. a little windy. ate at all the restaurants food was good and lots of variety. any drink you wanted hey cecilia and the candy man at lobby bar. good job. used water world facility free catamaran use was too windy for paddle boats.$ 50 for jetski for 2 seemed like we were out there a hour. would definitely go back very close to airport 7 minutes approx. enjoyed own jacuzzi with bubbles fresh clean water between uses. room was great with large tub I soaked for a half hour seemed like forever. chocolate strawberries left in room 1st night. great price value. hey any vaction is a good vacation. be glad you have the means to travel. good job grand oasis Playa. shout out to ernesto waiter at buffet bring the lunch to the ppol at 2 pm.
