Imperial Las Perlas Hotel

Traveled to this accommodation in September 2005. location is quite good and rooms are good for the budget. be carfull of personal belongings as alot of valueables went missing after the maids had been in to tidy. My camera, Gameboy, Razor and mobile phone all that were hidden disappeared after they had visited. others that I have spoke to had the same problem. Hotel management really didn't care and never even appologiised or attempted to help us or investigate. If u visit, do NOT take many valuables as you run the risk of theft. Cancun itself is great and had an amazing time. Another tip for you when traveling, do not use your credit card for drinks at the corona bar (located next to 'The City' Club). I use mine and my credit card was maxed out for approx £2000 for 4 drinks. Cant be trusted.

After reading reviews I was a little nervous but turns out this was a great hotel for the price!! At about $70/night you cant beat it!! Beach side, small kitchenette, great staff, free water, COLD COLD A/C.
.it was excellent!!

We got 3 rooms each were all different. First 2 had beach views, they were similair with 2 double beds. Only difference was one of them didnt have the vanity mirror. The 3rd room was poolside view but had a balcony. It was larger than the 2 but I heard the A/C wasn't as cold as the other 2 rooms. Yes the A/C worked and was def cold everynight! It was nice to walk into these rooms after walking around downtown.

The bathrooms worked greated. Except one of the rooms the water went out but it got fixed by the staff. My room was right upabove the entertainment area so i suggest if u dont like to music to make sure u dont get a room in that area. It was great for us as it was like a boombox in the room. except when they played with spanish music, but the hip hop was great!! As far as the showers it was def giving out hotttt water..so hott it was hard to even it out to try to get cold water lol

The kitchenette was a plus. We didnt use the burners or none of the plates/utinesels that were provided. The fridge was great for storing water and liquor.

The bed were pretty hard, not going to lie. I was upset because the bed I had wasnt sturdy on the bottom. like it was wobbly and i felt like it was going to break anytime soon. some of the other girls bed's were sturdy but only 2 off us were stuck with these types.

I booked 2 rooms through Travelocity and 1 room through Hotels.com. The only really upsetting thing about the hotel was that one of the morings I awoke to LOUD banging. I was really pissed and irraited because if they were renovating the hotel then travelocity should have alerted me. but yah it was so annoying i was mad and wanting to [----] at travelotcy because they guarantee they wont send u to a renovating hotel..but i got over it a day and few drinks later lol

Beach-it was great for tanning and what not. the water was weedy but if u want to cool off u can just jump in the pool they had. pool was great, not crowded. we def went at a time where it wasnt that many ppl so it was good.

Maid service-excellent! gave clean towels and made beds every day! def u should tip because thats money they earned..

Staff-guys at the front were nice and helpful. i didnt have to bitch at all to them which was a surprise haha.

Buses-bus stop was right across the street so that was convienient!

Water-purified water for free at the hotel.

We have just had 15 memorable days at the Las Perlas, first impressions was that the Hotel looked dated but clean.
You are right on the sandy white beach with a gentle lapping sea, but not the turquoise blue we where expecting. It was clear and clean but had sea weed growing a few feet from the shore.
The rooms where large with 2 double beds and air con.
A nice bonus for any football fan was that all the Premier league games where shown live on the TV in your room for free.
The food was well presented and tasty and had a 7 day menu
none of us went hungry or fell ill.
The best thing of all and we award them 5 stars for was the staff, the management should be proud of them.
They gave 100% to their jobs every day and met your every need
after a few days when they knew where you sat and what you liked to drink it was brought to you with in minutes of entering the restaurant or sitting at the bar.
The bar staff Miguel and Eusebio where entertaining we had many a good laugh sat around the bar day and night.
If you are looking for a relaxing stay with 5 star treatment and basic rooms this is the place.

“What a dump!”

Imperial Las Perlas Hotel

May 12, 2008

We just got back from spending 10 days in the Yucatan. It was an amazing trip! Booked Imperial Las Perlas for the 1st night through Hotwire as we were arriving late in the night and needed a place to sleep.

The hotel was so much worse than expected. The room was claustrophobic. The air conditioning barely worked (it was at least 30 celcius at night) and the bed springs creaked all night.

We generally pick cheap to moderate hotels to stay in and don't expect much from a room. But this dump was unbearable. Thankfully, we left early next morning for Playa Del Carmen and did not have to endure another night in the awful place.

If you are spending just the night in Cancun, I would suggest looking for hotels downtown. On the way back, we stayed at 'Hotel Colonial' just off Tulum Ave. For 400 pesos for a double, air-conditioned room, it was a superb stay - clean, comfortable beds and a nice location.

“fantastic place to stay”

Imperial Las Perlas Hotel

we have just returned from this hotel there was six of us who stayed here for two weeks it was amazing we all had a fantastic time yes you get what you pay for we read these reviews before we went and we nearly changed our hoiliday dont take to much notice if your a posh bird then dont go if your the down to earth and friendly type then go yes the rooms are a bit dated( try and get a sea view room )but you only sleep in there the air con was a god send we had a massive walk in shower which always had red hot running water the resturant was great the food was beautifull and the waiters were great they are even better if you tip them once in a while (george&philip) are the best .the bar is great and so are eusabio & migel the bar men, your never without a drink for long with them two. there is no entertainment in this hotel but they do have music on so you make your own entertainment like we did. the beach is great there is some sea grass that gets swept up onto the beach(its worse further up towards the hotel zone) but there is a little lad that is constantly raking it up apart from the one day he has off a week so dont forget him when handing the tips out the sea is beautifull but not very deep it also gets very hot in there.the weather was very hot but you have a breeze most of the time so you dont realise how much sun your actually getting so keep applying the cream all the time. all in all we would go back to this place not just for the hotel but for the really friendly people we met aswell (staff&guests) and the lovely atmosphere made by everyone.
