my partner and i stayed at the imperial las perlas for 7nights, from reading the reviews we were expecting a very basic accomodation, which is what we got but it was clean and the maids would do anything to help you, i agree from other reviews that the reception staff are unhelpful and never happy. we went all inclusive to this hotel and the food was appauling we expected it to be quite basic for a 3* hotel but this food was awful, if you like plain pasta, boiled potatoes and recooked beans you will enjoy the food here. the beach is quite small but it is cleaned every day, the water is lovely and warm but you can not snorkel because of the seaweed. we did do 2 excursions which we thoroughly enjoyed one was going to the coba pyramids, before we went there we went deep into the jungle and went zip lining, absailing into a deep cave then canooing this was fabulous but dont go on this excursion if you arent into doing any of these things! we also went on the sunset lobster cruise, it was very romantic the food was beautiful and so were the staff and people we met. the hotel is quite away out from the main centre where all the shops, bars etc are. my partner and i walked into the centre one morning and it took us an hour half to get there. there is a bus stop outside of the hotel which is cheap its about 80p to get into the centre but beware that there are beggers that get on the bus and ask for money from you. overall our stay in mexico was good this hotel is ok but we wouldnt return and would not recommend it to friends/family.

i thaught it was great!! all the staff were nice (apart from the reception staff they were moody and didn't really pay any attention to you). Due to the hotel being small i met loads of really nice people.

just a short bus trip down the main road on a bus you have 2 big malls and all your night life.

i am planning on going back there as i enjoyed it soo much, and would reccomend it to anyone apart from families.

Good hotel, you receive that you paid... is cheap and clean ... we was there to visit the different tours of cancun we just come to sleep and was enough for us... But if your plan is relax in beach... choose other hotel...pool is small and the beach a little dirty. but staff are great people.

this was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. front desk was irritated that we arrived after our check in time. the room smelled funny and the air conditioner leaked all over the floor. you could literally hear other people having a conversation in the next room, and could hear the party goers come home at 3 or 5 in the morning. not to mention the maid barging into our room at 8am...we're on vacation! they offered a safe at the front desk for valuables...funny how i was missing jewelry after we left.

the best part...we had a 7am flight in the morning, and they couldn't even remember our wake up call!!!! didn't even apologize.

What can I say! After reading other reviews from people on trip adviser I had mixed views about staying in this hotel. But I can honestly say that I wasn't disappionted. The rooms and the restaurant were very clean and although the decor could have done with some updating, I couldn't have asked for better for a 3 star property.
The only thing I will mention is that the reception staff were alittle rude at times and whatever you do, don't rely on the hotel to exchange your currency, they never have any money!! The best advice I can offer is to change your travelers cheques at one of the many exchange places that are dotted up and down cancun. Make sure that the exchange rate is above 10 for the US dollar, that way you don't lose anything. Or better still take Mexican pesos as they are more widley used.
I will say that this hotel is NOT suitable for families with children as there is no entertainment in the evenings and the hotel bar closes at 11pm every night. But there are many bars and clubs for you night owls to explore!!
