Two star seems a little harsh but next to two star it says (Okay, but some problems) and I feel this sums it up perfectly.
We booked on this tour expecting to get really drunk and have a funny night. Here lies the first problem.
We had to queue for a long time to get on the boat and when we eventually got on we were sat on some uncomfy stools which we would spend the majority of the night on. You were assigned a pirate who would bring you drinks. When we first sat down he brought us our first drink promptly, and the second drink arrived not long after. Not bad so far.....However this was the last we saw of him, so we couldn't possibly get drunk, we didn't have another drink all night so it's not really an open bar all night.
Now for a good part - the show was brilliant. Really funny, the pirates are really great and everyone was really really laughing for the whole time. On our boat there was two japanese tourists that didn't really speak much english and much of the humour seemed to rely on these two. i.e the pirate trying to speak japanese to them and just saying random things like "ah,, nintendo, sushi" etc etc....also calling the guy Mr Miagi and involving him in every game and nearly the whole show along with his wife "Mulan" it was all very funny and they seemed to take it in good jest - I mention it only because my boyfriend and I wondered if it was a set up - ie. these two people were part of the act? Only because such a large amount of time and humour centred around them we wondered what they would have done had they not been on it? It was all really funny anyway....
Now for another downpoint. One of the games was sending three girls round to collect everyones shoes. The last time I played this game was when I was about 4 and I didn't enjoy it then. We were forced to give in our shoes and half way through the game we had to go for our meal - barefoot. The meal was ok, nothing great not awful, not memorable. When our shoes were eventually returned my boyfriends brand new trainers were soaked in beer so it kinda put a downer on the night right there.
The games are forced, no choice but to participate. Next involved a game where a complete stranger pulled you up on to the dancefloor and you had to rub each others noses, touch each others knees then rub bums as the pirates shouted out different drink names such as "Tequila!"....we were sober so this wasn't really all that fun lol.....
Then there was some dancing, things like Follow the Leader, Macarena, YMCA, Whigfield etc....which is all fine except it was way to crowded to do any of them dances lol!
All in all I wouldn't recomend this or do it again.
The show was brilliant I do want to make sure I'm not completely negative cos the pirates were brilliant and funny but there was just not enough drink, space, comfort etc and you are stuck on the boat you can't leave if you're having a bad night.
Good show, bad night out....
