My husband and I dove with Octavio in January 2009. We did a reef dive, wreck dive and a cenote dive. The cenote dive and the wreck dive have been the best dives in my life! Octavio is amazing. He is so friendly, offers very personal service and is big on safety. The groups are smalls: it was just my husband, me, one more person and Octavio. He made our experience do much more enjoyable. I recommend Nautilus to everyone!

I am a happy return customer to this fine diving establishment. I did a referral dive certification one year ago, and was lucky to have Octavio as my dive instructor then.....I had hoped upon my return this year, to be able to go out with him again, but he has a following, and he was already out with return customers. I spoke last year with Clemente, about my dive then, and of course, he did not remember that, but I did, and when I found that he would be our divemaster, I was fine with that.....I went with Clemente and my dive buddy to the Chitales reef, and to Remedio reef/area to the north of the Punta Cancun.....the depths were 25-35 feet....and we saw a nurse shark, a sea tortoise, a manta ray, lots of conch shells on the bottom, and more snappers/groupers than you could shake a stick at.....
thanks to fred, clemente, and octavio for making scuba diving a fun and enjoyable experience for me.......I will return, and use your services again!

Feb 2, I dove again with Nautilus/Scuba Freds. I got certified on a referral dive deal a year ago, with Octavio as my instructor, and wanted to go with him again this year, but due to his popularity, he was booked up, so Clemente was our dive master. My dive partner for the day was a novice, and did the Discover Scuba class, which I did also, as a brush up and re-instill some practices that needed honing......We went out to Chitales reef, and the Remedio area, north of Punta Cancun....25-35 deep, nothing significant, but there was a lot of sea life to see! We encountered a nice sized ray, a 4 ft nurse shark, a 2 foot sea turtle, and hundreds of other fish.....
Clemente was working both a still camera in an underwater housing, and a video.....both had great shots when he showed it to us, but me being cheap, did not him up on the offer......he was a good tour guide, and when he saw something of interest, he got us to look in on it....we had a blast, and will use them the next time in Cancun for sure!

I dove with Nautilus on Monday, January 26th. Octavio picked me up at my resort and then we made one more stop to pick up another 2 divers that were going to dive with us. Octavio discussed with us our options since the winds were high and the water would be rough at the wreck. Octavio let us decide which dives we wanted to do based on our comfort level and the current conditions. Despite the rough water, we decided to tough it out and do the 1st dive at the wreck - great decision! Hovering 5' above the deck of the wreck were about 15-20 spotted eagle rays! As we made our way over to the other end of the wreck, Octavio pointed out another 25-30 spotted eagle rays hovering in the current just above the bottom. He also pointed out a shark in the distance hovering in the current. Each dive, Octavio went through the complete dive plan, explained what to expect to see and reviewed hand signals to alert us to some of the marine life we would see.

Being more of a novice diver, Octavio was very helpful with hints to make the dive more enjoyable as well aiding with my boyancy control.

I had my own equipment; however, the other 2 divers used Nautilus' equipment. During both dives, there were no issues with the equipment at all. In fact, one of the other divers was having trouble with her own personal mask. Octavio had an extra mask on the boat which made her dive a better experience.

Thanks Octavio, I will be back!

My 15 year old son and I enjoyed scuba so much that we can't wait to go back ! Fred and Octavio were fantastic. They were both so nice and made sure we had a wonderful first experience. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and we couldn't go back for a second time, but we will definitely call Octavio again when we return to Cancun.
