I chose this hotel get married in, and i wasnt disappointed! Great service from the staff, the wedding planner went through everything with me and definiatley made things so much easier and stress free for me!
Hotel Food was Fantastic, lots to choose from, food theme nights and individual restaurants to book into for something different.
The location worked perfectly for us, it was nice and quiet, very relaxing atmosphere on the beach during the days (main pool area loud & busy with entertaining reps) and it was only a short bus ride into the main cancun area for great nightlife. (best way to get around by local busses, if you get a taxi, barter and agree a fare BEFORE you get in)
On arrival we were not happy with our room, it was overlooking a somekind of small construction site on the side of the hotel, we asked the front desk if we could move, and they were very accomodating to us, we moved rooms to overlook the main pool area and beach within 30mins.
The only DRAWBACK to the hotel was the main lobby with bar and entertainment area - the bar and seating area were great place for relaxing and making your own cocktails up with the fun, friendly staff, however the entertainment was AWFUL! the singers music was old fashioned and FAR TOO LOUD, so you couldnt even hear yourselves talk?! Not my cup of tea! The reps put on shows in a small little theatre at the end of the complex, some of these were good laugh. We ended up sitting outside most nights, or out of the hotel into Cancun for the nightlife there.
If you are looking to get married here i would definateley recommend it, however..... just becareful about the wedding package, money was an issue with us so we could only afford the middle of the three packages, which came with 10 professional photographs. When we arrived the hotel asked we we would like unlimited photographs for approximatley £500, we were seriously considering it, but our spending money would just not allow. The photographer came up to us personally at the end of the wedding day and offered us a copy of all pictures on disc for only £200! YES £300 cheaper than the Hotel! so he met us in the lobby 2 days later with the CD and i now have fabulous wedding day pictures from a day i will never forget!

We (7 0f us) stayed at the Riu Caribe for the second year running. The weather was fantastic. The food was excellent and the choice was amazing. The beach bar serving pizzas was understaffed and consequently we had to wait up to 40 mins for a pizza.The rooms were clean and on our departure some of the rooms were being refurbished. The beach and pool areas were kept very clean. The entertainment team worked very hard to keep everyone entertained, although some of last year's staff had left and new staff had to learn the dances/shows very quickly. We went on various excursions last year so this time we just chilled apart from a day excursion to Isla Mujures. I can recommend this - no need to book through the rep though, just have a walk down to the nearby ferry. The kids loved the golf buggies to see the island. Some of us held a shark (no charge -just make a donation). My neice went to the Kids Club but sometimes the staff did not interact with her,but they made up for it at the Mini Disco and she was on the stage every night. She even sang 'Mamma Mia' on the karaoke. (She's only 3).

The swine flu alert did not spoil our holiday. We knew nothing about it until we arrived home. Had we booked to go 2 weeks later then our holiday would have been postponed but fortunately this did not happen. We can't wait to go back.

The hotel is a little out the way but an easy and quick bus ride it and there's one ever minute or two as it's the only route for a bus.

This hotel was a good choice excellent service great staff food had a great selection and drinks were not perfect but v good for an all inclusive . Overall would highly recommend doubt we'll go to cancun for a 3rd time but if we did this would be our choice. Also make sure you have the passion fruits they're not just decoration our favourite they look different to the normal one alot bigger.

Clean resort and usual riu high standards out of the 3 Riu's in Cancun this for us was the best. One Riu is too lively beer games and loud yanks etc newwer admitidly and the most expensive of the 3 is like a morgue but was quite flashy til they kicked us out because we had the wrong bracelet on lol.

Anyways good choice good value decent food and drink good beach no brainer if Cancun is what you want. We've been twice to Cancun now so was fun but our last visit. Good for a cheap carib style xmas getaway wheni t's cold

We were there in June of 2008. We had previously stayed twice at the Riu Cancun. I preferred the Riu Cancun to the Riu Caribe.

Food could get a bit boring at the buffet
Not much "kid friendly" food at the buffet
Our room had a few ants the first day
The beach did have some seaweed or something that washed up A LOT
Had a bit of a mix up with check in but was quickly taken care of
Some women go topless when they really shouldn't

All in all, we had a great vacation. Great value, WONDERFUL service. The staff was so friendly and helpful!
