We travelled in November with first choice, upgraded flight which we all thought was worth the extra money we paid, our rooms we clean and tidy good views from our balcony, food and drinks a plenty although sometimes i found my vodka & coke a little strong but i just got another glass of coke, no bother there, the food was excellent we like our spicy food and there was plenty of that for us but there was also agood choice for those who have a gentler pallet, the only fault i would say is with the entertainment, don't get me wrong they tried their hardest but it was not the best.
Oh just one thing more in the lobby bar there is a barmen vincenzo best barmen ever he's lethel with the tequilla lol.
Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask

My husband and I actually stayed at the riu caribe in summer 07 for our honeymoon, I always wanted to write a review, so now I finally am.
I'm not sure if much has changed but this is how I remember it...
We loved it! The only complaint we could give is that it's in the hotel zone so it was a pretty busy resort, but that's to be expected.
The food was delicious, we surprisingly never really got sick of the buffets. I remember the breakfasts being really yummy.
The resort was really clean and new-looking. We loved the pools, but the beach was the best...very beautiful and calm.
Our room was very nice, the bathroom was a lot nicer than we expected it to be. One great thing about this resort is that no matter where your room is, you have a FABULOUS view, we loved it.
I would recommend this resort to anyone, and I actually want to go back again next time I visit the caribbean.

My sister and I decided to go to Cancun. I've stayed at this resort before, so I knew I'd have a great time again at this resort.

Let me first start by saying that whenever I think about vacation, the Riu Caribe always pops into my head. I have had nothing but great times at this resort. I've stayed at this resort twice and always recommend it to my friends. The only reason I've strayed from this resort is when booking and I can't find direct flights to Cancun (if they're sold out by the time I'm booking) then I end up searching for another location.

I can't think of anything to complain about with regard to this resort.

Checking into this hotel is super easy. I can't wait to go back. My boyfriend and I are planning another trip in November.

I stay at the RIU Caribe Cancun April 9th to April 16th 2009. At first I was going to rate this resort 3 stars, but then I changed my mind. I will explain.

Drinks
For some reason the soft drinks had this water down taste. The soda pop and fruit juice tasted like diet drinks. It was very strange. After about the third day, the soft Drinks tasted normal. I can’t say why. This doesn’t really help. It’s more personal then anything. The alcoholic Drinks were strong and very good!

Al A Carte Restaurants
I believe the RIU Caribe; list 3 Al A Carte restaurants. Maybe I don’t know the full meaning of al a carte but I would say there is only one. The Japanese restaurant was a buffet style. Drinks and the fried Ice cream dessert were brought to the table. Yes, Fried Ice cream; really good. The Mexican restaurant has a buffet style salad bar. The Grill restaurant appetizer, salad, main course and dessert were brought to the table, extremely nice. The food was good at all restaurants. For breakfast; recommend getting a cup from the lobby bar. The cups are bigger and you will need it for the fresh juice that is made on the spot. All different kinds of juice, amazing! The only meat I eat is fish. I had no problem finding food. It’s a good place for vegetarian as well.

Beach
The sand is extremely lovely. The beach is maintained and very clean. The beach waiters are more then delighted to take your drink orders. They are very quick. No need to get up and walk to the bar. Set back, unwind and enjoy the sun. If there is a problem finding a spot on the beach, because people wake up at 6 in the morning to put towels on the chairs! There is a beach area behind the stage were the nightly entertainment is held. Don’t know how empty it’s going to be after this review.

Night Life
The night life at the hotel is more of a relax type setting. This is good for the guests that are not into partying. Mind you this was Spring Break season. On the Sunday, the resort had a disco night. The party was in one of the meeting halls. The real partying happens in the club district. I uploaded a video to www.youtube.com its called [--]. The video has a lot of the clubs and the partying that goes on in Cancun. The entertainment staff at the Caribe organizes nightly Club outings. Cost: $40 to $60US per night (all you can drink). They know what clubs are going to be enjoyable. I would trust going to the club with them. Despite what people say, Cancun is very safe.

I had a really good time. Don’t like to go back to the same place twice. But you will find me there around the same time next year. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask!

I chose this hotel get married in, and i wasnt disappointed! Great service from the staff, the wedding planner went through everything with me and definiatley made things so much easier and stress free for me!
Hotel Food was Fantastic, lots to choose from, food theme nights and individual restaurants to book into for something different.
The location worked perfectly for us, it was nice and quiet, very relaxing atmosphere on the beach during the days (main pool area loud & busy with entertaining reps) and it was only a short bus ride into the main cancun area for great nightlife. (best way to get around by local busses, if you get a taxi, barter and agree a fare BEFORE you get in)
On arrival we were not happy with our room, it was overlooking a somekind of small construction site on the side of the hotel, we asked the front desk if we could move, and they were very accomodating to us, we moved rooms to overlook the main pool area and beach within 30mins.
The only DRAWBACK to the hotel was the main lobby with bar and entertainment area - the bar and seating area were great place for relaxing and making your own cocktails up with the fun, friendly staff, however the entertainment was AWFUL! the singers music was old fashioned and FAR TOO LOUD, so you couldnt even hear yourselves talk?! Not my cup of tea! The reps put on shows in a small little theatre at the end of the complex, some of these were good laugh. We ended up sitting outside most nights, or out of the hotel into Cancun for the nightlife there.
If you are looking to get married here i would definateley recommend it, however..... just becareful about the wedding package, money was an issue with us so we could only afford the middle of the three packages, which came with 10 professional photographs. When we arrived the hotel asked we we would like unlimited photographs for approximatley £500, we were seriously considering it, but our spending money would just not allow. The photographer came up to us personally at the end of the wedding day and offered us a copy of all pictures on disc for only £200! YES £300 cheaper than the Hotel! so he met us in the lobby 2 days later with the CD and i now have fabulous wedding day pictures from a day i will never forget!
Great experience, would defo recommend to a friend.
