My husband & I stayed a week at the Royal Caribbean in November 08. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of this resort. Our villa was spotless, we had maid service daily. We happened to be in our villa twice when she arrived, she offered to come back another time but we did not mind her being there when we were. We were surprised how thoroughly she cleaned each room. It wasnt a quick go-over at all.
Our villa consisted of two bedrooms, a dining area, living room, small kitchen & 2 large bathrooms. Also a very nice balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea, and the pool area.
There was a nice restaurant on site located right next to the pools.
A nice option that the Royal Caribbean has is that it is located right between the Royal Mayan & The Royal Islander. You can use all the amenities, pools, spa - at them all. You can walk directly from one building to another, very convenient.
There is a nice grocery/convenience store in the lobby, making it easy to pick up just about anything you need. The prices are not bad at all.
All of the staff was helpfull & friendly.
This is a beautiful resort, I'd recommend it to anyone!
See photo's attached, there are some of the pools, villa, & area.

A wonderful place to stay. The rooms were impeccably clean and kept that way by the staff everyday. The view was spectacular, as well as the weather. Ocean was warm (80+F) and clean. The only issue there was the rocky beaches which made it difficult to stand, recommend bringing water shoes. The staff was helpful and friendly everywhere we went on the resort and the amount of cleaning and grooming of the grounds that went on was unmatched from any place we've ever stayed. If you’re not interested in the 3-4 hour time share sales pitch stay away from the free transport to the Royal Hacienda you will waste an entire day of your vacation....bummer. On the other hand take the snorkeling trip to Puerto Morales the staff was great, and the fish lunch was the best meal we had the entire trip. If your adventurous take the scuba lessons with Solo Buceo, Antonio and staff were great and it was a once in a lifetime experience you'll not forget ! All in all Cancun is now at the top of our list for places we want to return to ....soon.

  • Liked — cleanliness and proximity to ocean
  • Disliked — Pushy Time share sales people.

The Royal Caribbean is not a hotel, but a private club (timeshare). We had room H130 - a beautiful suite (2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, dining and living room). We were just about 30 steps from the Caribbean and our views were wonderful! The resort is VERY clean (this is quite important to us). Our "personal Concierge" Josalo (did I get the name right??) was friendly, outgoing and a joy. As I had read in one other review, there were mostly older people here (age 60 and up). During this offseason time in October, it was not so crowded. That made it better for us. The pools were not so busy and neither was the beach. The restaurant food could be better - mostly all American fare, w/ little local flair. Everybody at this place was very, very friendly, including all the guests. It seems that everyone who stays here really seems to enjoy themselves and they come back year after year.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, View, Customer Service, Privacy, Room size
  • Disliked — No cell signal in room, weak signal throughout most of the resort, no wi-fi in room or connection

We were there the end of August 08, For a week. We found it to be a very nice place. The staff went above and beyond for us.
We were traveling with someone handicapped. I would return because they were so helpful. Nice resort.
Easy to catch a bus anywhere you want to go.

We were pampered and spoiled from the minute we first arrived....a glass of champagne for me and my bride as we checked in. Rose petals and doves on our bed, just like the pictures showed, along with a full bottle of champagne and a white chocolate covered dessert that was scrumptious!
Despite the cloudy and rainy weather 4 of the 6 days we were there, the staff made it all tolerable.
We ate at all the restaurants except the Asian, and went back to Marie-Maria 3 nights in a row!
Outstanding couples massage.
I must mention Eloise, the most fantastic bar girl in the pool area. For 2 days she waited on us, and went above and beyond our expectations, as she would bring us fresh drinks just as we were finishing our first one. She even walked on a narrow passage to deliver our 4 drinks as we relaxed with another couple in the Infinity pool.
We were treated like Royalty at very resturant, even at Spices which was an excellent buffet.
My only concern was the feedback we got from other patrons about the "time share" tours and presentations. We were able to avoid the full fledged presentation, but others we had met and went through it, said they were humiliated. Others said it was the only black eye, of an otherwise wonderful experience.
One other "negative"..... we love the ocean and beach and have been spoiled by the Gulf beaches in Destin. The beach here was full of rocks, and not very big. So if you are going and looking for a beach experience, it isn't here.
The staff was exceptional, and we got the Royal treatment. We hope to return someday.
