We are just completing an 8 day stay at the JW Marriott and it's our first trip to Cancun or this area. We have been impressed with the high level of customer service provided here, at all levels from the front desk to the maid staff, simply outstanding. Someone greeted us as soon as we exited our airport pick-up, called us by name, escorted us inside and then up to our room which was a Caribbean Suite. The room is outstanding, great lay out, huge 2 room suite, 2 balconies, 1 1/2 baths, etc., very nice and very clean and up to date with furnishings. We tried all of the restaurant's on site. The food was great and I agree, the breakfast is a bit pricey but still quality food and service. The pool area is outstanding, clean with an attentive staff, same for the beach area. The Spa is also great and we used it every day.

I do agree that the prices for this hotel are quite expensive but it is a true luxury hotel which is exactly what we were looking for on this trip. We celebrated my wife's birthday here and I think the entire staff knew it was her birthday. They all greeted her in various parts of the hotel with a "Happy Birthday" which was a very nice touch, especially since she thought that I arranged for it!!!

The only negative is their fee for wireless Internet ($20 USD/Day) since most Marriott's are either free or a maximum of $10 USD/Day.

We would come back here for that luxury touch.

We stayed at the JW for 5 days in late August and had a fabulous time. We were a bit concerned about some of the postings that we had read prior to choosing the JW, but we found the hotel and the staff to be wonderful! The hotel itself is VERY clean and well kept. The pool area is also very nice although we spent all of our sunning time on the beach just as a matter of personal preference. The beach is clean, beautiful, and the water was fabulous. This is a great place to go if you want to take a long weekend break on a beautiful beach with nice people. We will return to this hotel in the future.

I think this hotel is great, it's absolutely beautiful! But I have also been to Cancun before and stayed at the Melia Turquesa which was equally as beautiful. The people at the JW were very nice and the service is excellent. The Infinity pool has the best view, it's like your in the ocean! I would definately recommend, but again, you are paying for the Marriott name.

I have been to Cancun 3 times and stayed at 3 different resorts, and chose J.W. Marriott this time seeing how its number #1 on here, and for a person that travels all the time and have stayed at thousands of hotels it was very average, the room itsself is no different than just a standard hotel room you could get anywhere, the service is good but not great. If your looking for a nicer room dont stay here, if your looking for just a very clean place to where your going to pay more for the name and reputation then stay here, I left after 2 days and moved hotels, very boring laid back dead atmosphere, the poolside food wasnt very good, and the pools themselves are boring. I have read thousands and have not written anything on here in 3 years so im not biased or they did not treat me bad just giving and honest answer.
