My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon, May 16th through May 22nd, and we found it good for the price. The hotel was VERY clean, there always seemed to be someone cleaning at all hours of the day. I agree with the other reviews that the front desk was not the friendly; they seemed putout to help you.
The room it self was clean, and there was a mold smell that did go away after the first day. We also had two sinks and a mini-fridge. You do have to ask for the remote down at the front desk. If you want to lock up your valuables you have to ask for the key for the in-room safe, which is $2.00 a day.
The bars are great, you will have no problem getting your fill of Corona or alcohol. Marco and Omar are the best bartenders, watch out for Ishmael' he is no fun. Just ask for however much you want and they will gladly give it. Though if you do plan on staying on the beach allot we do advise that you buy a portable drink container and get it filled up so that you do not have to go back and forth all the time.
The only real negative was the food, it was all the Mexican version of American food, it would look the same but taste different. Breakfast in the Buffet is really good, lots of fruit and made to order omelets. Lunch and dinner were generally ok with at least something to eat. The snack bar is good if you want something quick. The Italian restaurant though was bad. It is not full service; you have to get your own appetizer and desert off of a buffet and they only serve dinner. The actual main course was ok, not the best ever by far. Definitely do not order the sangria, I know it's Mexico, but it was really bad.
So over all it was clean, the beach is beautiful, they play dumb games like bingo during the day, there is plenty to drink, and you can always find something to eat. Oh and you are not required to do the time-share thing at all, but we went and bought so it can be a deal. And lastly ask Omar at the Lobby Bar if he can play "Texas Hold'em" with you.
