My husband and I were married at the Moon Palace on April 7th. We stayed with 4 other couple from April 2-9 and had a wonderful time. We cannot believe the negative reviews. You must be pretty picky to write a bad review about this hotel.
The wedding package was perfect. We took a 15 minute carraige ride to the gazebo. The wedding was approximately 20 mintues and then we went for our pictures. We couldn't have had better pictures. The photographer was excellent and the guys doing the video did an excellent job. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better wedding day. I found that there wasn't a lot of information on the weddings on the website or on any other sites so if any one has any questions or would like to see how the pictures turn out please do not hesitate to contact me at the above address.
The hotel itself is amazing. The place is so huge that you have can take a shuttle bus from one lobby to another. We usually just walked. The grounds were keep really clean. Our room was huge. Every room has a double jacuzzi tub, huge marbal shower, liquor dispenser, mini fridge and king sized bed if you asked for one. We stayed on the Nisuc side and if you ask me it was way nicer than the sunrise side. The only difference is that we didn't have a hammock on our patio, but really how often our you in your room. The maid would do our bed up different every day. One day we had flower peddles in the shape of a heart. An usually they do something different with you towels everyday. Our fried's maid did swans, an elephant and a little boy. They are really neat to see. I recommend using the pool on the Nisuc side as it is much quieter and less crowded. We never had to go and reserve a seat early in the morning. The only seats that were always gone were the beach ones. But that's ok because the beach isn't really all that nice. No one would swim in the ocean there because there is a lot of seaweed. They come and pick it up every so often so it's really not a big deal. If you want to see a nice beach just hop in a taxi and you to Beach Palace or Cancun Palace. However the beach is private at the Moon Palace so you don't get people harrassing you like you do in Cancun.
The food was excellent. There was so much to choose from. My husband is a fussy eater and her never complained once that he couldn't find something that he liked. The service was awesome. One waiter would pull out your chair while another would put your napkin down for you. It was really wierd just getting up from the table and not paying. I can't believe the kinds of food that we got from this all inclusive. They have everything you can imagine and will cook it up right in front of you.
We never took advantage of the free tours. Instead we got one of the taxi drivers "Renae" to take us around for the day. He does his own tours for groups of 8 or less for about $200. It was well worth the money. We had no time constrants and he drove us around for the full day. He also knows lots of people and got us deals on the prices into Tulum and Xel-ha. He even got us booked to swim with the dolphins after they told us there were no spots left. I highly recommend going to Xel-ha for a full day. Its a beautiful place where you can swim with the dolphins or snokel. They have a river that you can float down on tubes (well really there is not current so you have to push yourself).
Overall the resort was awesome and I would recommend it to anyone. We will definetely return. I do however recommend that you stay here after springbreak as the staff at the hotel said that the two weeks before us were absolutely horrible.
