“Still as good as ever”

Stayed again, last visit newyear 04. I forgot how great and SINCERE the service was. Lovely. I agree with the Whiffy smell at the other end but I am sure if you had a word they would resolve in a minute.
Our room was not made up until after 1600hrs for the first two days and I feed back, this resulted in a maid arriving within 20mins and two phone calls to confirm all ok from customer relations.
I also found the older end less busy and more relaxing,
also the pool may not be as flash but more beds and laid back here.
All in all, still probably the best holiday location I have had for relaxing, eating and drinking.

“WOW - great honeymoon!”

We stayed at the Moonpalace Hotel in Cancun for one week in April 2005 for our honeymoon.
FOOD - The food was great with tons of places to eat from sit down full service to a buffet style. If you are picky about what you eat - this place has lost of options. Drinks were great and plentiful!
ROOMS - The rooms are a nice size with a jacuzzi for two. Room had working a/c which is more than i can say about many other resots that we have stayed at. The view was great!
POOLS - There are 2 pools which are huge. Quick tip - if you want a lawn chair - wake up early as most chairs are occupied by 7:30am. (these are very hard to come by)
STAFF - they were GREAT and we are not the type of people to mingle too much at times. We always got great service regardless of how busy they were! We loved the towel figures in the room.

Although gratuity is included, the staff really do deserve something a little extra. Please be kind to them and they will asist you in every way possible.
**** We would highly recommend the Moon Palace! ****

My husband and I stayed for my 50th in 2005 in the Sunrise side and it was fabulous. This was the honeymoon/wedding side and had no children. They seemed to keep the families on the other side. We visited the 5 restaurants in the Sunrise and the 5 on the other side. It was unbelieveable, the food was superb and the staff priceless.... nothing was too much bother and they smiled all the time and really made us feel like royality.

The mini fridge and spirits were topped up every day. The made swans out of the towels, they pulled your sheets over at night and made sure your room was tidy when you came back. The breakfasts were great and we could not complain about any of the restaurants at all. We took their courtesy bus into Cancun which is quite far and visited another palace hotel of a lower star and they treated us with the same hospitality and that little band that you wear means you still do not pay a penny at any of their hotels. We even stayed on their beach all day and had lunch. The beach there in Cancun was beautiful. We could make our own coffee in the morning before going to breakfast. We could lie on the beach at Moon palace and be served our lunch there. All in all a superb place.

We would definitely go there again but dont like the long haul and we were charged 150-00 for being overweight (we did not have any extra stuff in the cases) and could not understand why Manchester had not charged us anything when we were leaving.... so we could not understand why we were charged that but there was a little fellow with his foot on the scales!!! I requested that they weigh our luggage again and they refused and you had to pay cash, as they would not accept credit cards so be careful. We saw another chap having his luggage weighed and he was overweight and not charged. I asked why and he said because he was a first class passenger so we were being penalised for not being in first class. We had to pay up or be arrested......... god knows what would have happened if we did not have the 150-00 in cash.

Apart from that everything else was fantastic no probs whatsoever but watch for the foot on the scales!!!!! otherwise you will be out of pocket.

“Terrific!”

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort

Our family of four (children 17 and 20) just returned from a week at the all inclusive Moon Palace in Cancun. We've been to different all inclusives in Cancun, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Curacao and hands down, this place was the best.

You start with a 20 minute drive from the Cancun airport. How convenient is that? Check in was prompt and efficient and if a room wasn't ready you simply changed into beach clothes and you were on your way.

As stated, our family has stayed in numerous all inclusives. Hands down, this was the all around best. The rooms are nice, come equipped with a flat screen tv, and have views of the water. The multiple restaurants are all good, the service is outstanding, the golf is great, and the beach is wonderful for long walks. Two large beautiful pools, an abundance of activities, a good spa, and did I mention how good the golf was? Beautiful challenging course.

We couldn't find a fault. As a matter of fact, we bought into their time share (although they don't call it that) because we liked it so much.

“Best All-Inclusive Family Vacation EVER!!”

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort

Jan 3, 2007
20/20 found this review helpful

Over the past several years, we have taken many family vacations to all-inclusives, from Jamaica to several destinations in Mexico, including at least 4 to the Cancun/Playa Car area. Our experience on this vacation at the Moon Palace has been the BEST VACATION ever. We were there to celebrate Christmas (Dec. 23 -Dec.30) with our family.

We stayed at the Nuzic side, which was the quieter side, but did visit both sides and the Golf course and spa during our stay. The rooms were outstanding. We stayed in a room with a king-size bed with all the fine appointments you might find in a top-notch US Hotel. There also was a substantial size safe, which was included. (We had to pay to use a small one last year in Puerta Vallarta--Marival Resort).

Anyway, the entire stay was a dream vacation. The food was excellent in all of the restaurants, including the buffets. My husband found that if he wanted steak for lunch, it was available in the buffet line--cooked to his request. Seafood, and shrimp were also plentiful for lunch and dinner. We would make reservations each evening by simply going to the restaurant of our choice. This is something, which is so much nicer than having to make reservations early in your stay for the week.
Sometimes the wait was a little long (1 1//2 hr.), but there were plenty of snacks/drinks available while we waited.

The staff was the happiest and most friendly of the many other resorts we've stayed at. We would normally tip a few dollars, after a drink order and we had service faster than we could drink them. After dinner at the restaurants, we would tip our main waiter with a $20 or so and it was like we made his week. It was genuine gratitude! On Christmas, we did give our waiter a $50 bill, and I thought he was going to cry.

Again, we felt this was one of our BEST ALL-INCLUSIVE Vacations ever. We will be going to Cabos San Lucas for our Spring vacation. After this absolutely wonderful vacation, I'm afraid nothing will ever come close to being as wonderful as the MOON PALACE in Cancun.

We DEFINITELY plan to RETURN to MOON PALACE !!
