“Excellent city center option”

Just a couple blocks from the local supermarket and bus station and 3-5 from the downtown plaza, restaurants and night-life this was a great choice for us. The inner courtyard makes you feel really secluded, with a nice swimming pool, hammacks, and garden. The price is a little more affordable and the staff pleasant. It's not near the beach but you can take a public bus pretty easily.

We stayed one night because of an early morning flight the next day. Because of this we weren't able to have their breakfast. The hotel is located two blocks from the bus station so that was a cheap way to access the airport. The inner courtyard and pool were nice, the room was big and the bathroom was fine. The front office was nice and helpful. The big problem we had , with this hotel was the cleaning solvent odor that permeated the room. I thought that it might wear off, but it never did. I wouldn't stay here again because of the smell.

We stayed only one night and would like to have stayed longer. If we go back we would definitely choose this hotel. We had a large room at the back of the hotel away from the street which was quiet and dark for excellent sleeping. It actually was a huge suite, with kitchenette, large bath and a bedroom area which could be screened off. It was just off the garden, across a little bridge. The central garden and pool were magical, and birds were singing in the large trees. We could hardly believe we were in the heart of Cancun city! This would make a lovely place to stay for a week or two, and be able to cook your own meals.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful. They stored one large bag for us while we travelled through Guatamala. On our return they delivered it to the room. The cost? $1.00 per day for storage. We were picked up at the airport by their van driver. Just as they said, when we came out the doors he was there waving a sign. We needed a wakeup call at 4:00 a.m. to catch a flight home, and they did that right on time. The staff attention to detail and care of the guests was top notch.
The only small problem was that the air conditioner was old and rattled loudly, so we just turned it off and opened the window.

We stayed here on the first and last nights of our honeymoon and loved the place. It has lots more character than the megahotels in the hotel zone, and it's cheaper too.

It's 2 blocks from the bus station so handy if you want to fly into Cancun and get a bus straight out, which is what we did. You can get the bus to the airport, or the hotel staff will take you. It's also very close to a big supermarket and lots of bars and restaurants on Av. Tulum.

The hotel is an "eco-hotel" and has lots of measures to save electricity and water, which eased my conscience as I'd just flown half way round the world to stay here!

The courtyard has huge palms, hammocks and a nice little pool. They organise yoga classes etc. The staff are friendly and speak English.

I booked online from the UK, which worked OK, although I didn't get confirmation of my booking immediately - I don't think it was an automated system.

The rooms are spacious, and have an interesting wooden floor, cooking facilities and fridge.

The good:
Lovely courtyard, really nice. The complimentary breakfast at the cafe was excellent, if simple. The reception guy was very friendly, and helped me out with some problems I had with my car rental company. He was great.

The location is great for downtown Cancun. Right by Tulum Av. and next to a supermarket. Downtown Cancun really ain't all that, however. Then again, the Zona Hoteleria is pretty strange too. If I were to do the trip over again I'd skip Cancun and go straight to Playa del Carmen...

The bad:
The rooms are serviceable, but a little dingy. The colors are bright, but because of the lighting, everything seems a little drab. There were ants in my sister's room and they infested her bag.
