Four of us just returned from Cancun Dec 12th. I have been to Cancun several times, read all the reviews on the Oasis, and I was not sure what to expect. I must say that this is not the Ritz, but hey, we did not pay for the Ritz. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, the food was good, not great, the drinks were limited to a fairly short list, not a problem, we are beer drinkers. I'm not sure what type of service alot of you are used to, but we could not have been treated any better! we all spent a couple of dollars in tips, and that went a long way with the bar tenders, waiters and the maids. Considering the price we paid for our stay, we did not feel "put out" with tipping a few bucks. These are hard working people that deal with some of the most rude people I have ever seen. There were times I was ashamed by the actions of many Americans. The bottom line is this: The Oasis Cancun is a GREAT value for the money, treat people with respect, and you will get respect in return. The beach is beautiful, the resort is clean and friendly, and I would recommend the Oasis to anyone looking for a good value. If you want High Dollar, Pay High Dollar, but some of you people just do not know what a vacation is for. I would like to thank the staff for a wonderful vacation.

I stayed at the Oasis Cancun from Dec 6 - 13, 2003 and it was definitley the best vacation I ever took!!! Me and a girlfriend went down with low expectations (thanks to the bull$hit reviews we read about Oasis). This hotel was amazing! The rooms were clean...hotel was beautiful...the food was average! I did not hold it against Oasis...
Mexican food in general is average! If you are 18 - 40 than this is the place to be. The FOAM PARTY SMOKED!!! I never had so much fun in my life...it was even better than Coco Bongo!!! And Coco Bongo was amazing! The bartenders were awesome...everytime they saw me and my friends...our drinks were already made and waiting for us! This hotel was great...the service was good.....and YES...the drinks are watered down...thats why you should stick to red wine! I met sooooo many amazing people...(HOLLA) hahaha

People, People, stop the *******. I just had the greatest 6 days of my life at this resort (Dec 10-15). I'll be honest the rooms arent the JW Marriot but who cares, your in CANCUN! the food was so so but keep in mind your in a 3rd world country. Also if you just give your bartender or waiter a few bucks he hooks you up all day long with strong drinks and quick service. And for all of you who dont feel the need to tip, you should be ashamed of yourself. The food and drink is all inclusive, not the service. These guys work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week for lame pay and they work hard. The least we can do is throw a couple of bucks there way to show them they are appreciated and that there hard work is acknowledged. I would go back in a second and stay at the oasis cancun. Also you dont even need to leave the resort to have fun. The beach is huge! and you will meet so many good people there to just sit and hang with. I actually had more fun on the resort than I did at La Boom's.At night head to the sports bar, thats where everyone chills and pre-games early in the night. A guy named Carlos (who we already miss) plays great music and entertains you. Bottom line if your 18-28 this is the place to be, I promise you will not be dissapointed. Dont listen to the other reviews, Oasis Cancun will show you a great time. -Dave

I was a little wary when reading the negative reviews of this Resort so I took a chance. I was very surprised with the Oasis Cancun. The Beach is Beautiful. Turquiose water so clean you can see the bottm at 10 ft.
depths. The staff did a great job of making you feel welcomed ans SAFE.
Security on every floor, as well as on the beach, keeping an eye out for unexpected visitors. The Hotel was kept immaculate. From the front desk, to the halls to your room, even the sand on the beach was groomed and fluffed every evening for a picture perfect sunrise in the morning.
I just got back and am already looking to book another trip to the Oasis. I enjoyed the all-inclusive which kept the beverages flowing. If there was any negative to this place, it would be the variety of the food. All in all the the food was fair. I enjoyed the chicken and ribs joint poolside. Wished it was open for dinner as I would have eaten there more. The Italian place is good. Don't waste you time on the Ibiza though. Also, take some single dollars and leave a few tips. It would suprise you how much $1.00 will get you in Mexico. This is a good hotel which provides great value for your money.

It saddens me to write how disappointed I and my friends were with our stay at the Oasis Cancun. We purchased an all inclusive package and it did not deliver, period. There was NO entertainment - other than a once a week 'foam party' Thursday night, cost $29.00 at a disco that was closed the rest of the week; another night there was a pathetic comedy show - and then a casino night that should have been documented on what not to do. The atmosphere, our first week, was dour - very quiet - no music - other than a eavy classical tape played in the lobby of the Grand Oasis. No coffee access in the rooms - one had to walk for 1/4 of a mile to one of the open restaurants and beg for a coffee to take out. Room service yes - but that costs extra. Impossible to phone out.. No one serves anything on the beach - period. Trying to find a comfortable beach chair is also no small feat. There are some canvas chairs at the Grand Oasis - but one is 'not allowed' to use them unless you're upgraded at $85.00 a day (later quoted $28.00 a day to upgrade). It is the 'not allowed' attitude that prevails - that's depressing. The staff on the whole were very nice - but seemed not to know what was going on. The tour operators in the hotel were only interested in selling you entertainment packages into Cancun or snorkling packages etc... The room - was ocean front - but bathroom had mold in it. If you're middle aged - single - and don't want to walk for miles to have breakfast etc... or looking for entertainment at your 'all inclusive hotel' I'd strongly suggest you stay somewhere else. The management seemed not to be the least bit concerned about 95% of their guests being very unhappy. I'm not exagerating. We were hard pressed to find anyone staying there who were happy about the place. Repeat business is obviously not part of the hotel's agenda. I'll never go back there again. I would revisit Playa Del Carmen - and stay in a time share or rent a condo. You're guaranteed a clean place and can cook your own meals or hire someone at a much more reasonable rate to do so.
