First of all, I was unsure about all the negativity listed on some reviews when I booked our vacation here at the Oasis Cancun. I thought, well, some people are very picky and not easy to please....well, that's not the case. We aren't picky people either (we even camp out in a tent to give you an example). SO, to make a long story short. This place sucked bad. We had to move to a different room the first night because they put us in a room right above the huge generators that run ALL THE TIME, very noisy. Then our next room didn't have good A/C, no soap, wash clothes or hair dryer. We asked 4 times for wash clothes and they kept bringing us hand towels. And never soap. So we found a maid's cart and asked for one. Then she gave us soap. After 3 days, finally called again for a hair dryer and got one....ugh. The water is just about the grossest! Smells like well water and never felt clean after showering. You would think after taking a shower from a hot day you would at least cool off....NOPE the A/C felt like a fan only. Very musty and damp all the time in the room. We didn't stay much in the room, but this was the time we needed to re-coop and cool off. We didn't wanna seem to complainy so we just stayed in the same room and road it out.

The food was terrible. If we didn't get to the restaurants before it opened, you may as well count on at least a 2 hour wait. Rediculous.....there were lines to get in the buffet also...so we just decided to go and eat elsewhere just about every night. Would recommend Margaritaville, Casa Magueya, Bubba Gumps and an excellent Italian rest. Itallianos. DO NOT go to Market 28. Waste of time and money. We went there and bought Coasters for $16USD...that was after bartering, they originally wanted $20USD...went to the mall and paid $8.50USD for the exact same thing. Don't waste your time going down to Market 28. Not very clean and not too many can speak english.

We walked up to the pool bar and first thing I smelled was PUKE! UGH...i just wanna a drink, but NOPE, no more. The pool water was really nasty, felt worse than lake water, oily and it was dirty.

We were very disappointed and will NEVER stay here again....but the saying goes, You Get What You Pay For. Perfect place for 18 year olds just out of high school...but nothing else. Can't relax here if that's the kind of vacation you're looking for. Don't waste your money. My opinion is even if the Mexican economy is hurting, before they put all these good deals to get people to come there and spend OUR hard earned money to vacation there, they should make sure they have the STAFF to make it a good stay also.

This place is horrible. Everything is bad, EVERYTHING. When we first get there and walk in the resort to check in we are told that are room is not ready and that we are going to have to wait until 5 pm, and that we are going to have to be charged 27 dollars since we are under 30. So we (was with a group of 14 people) tell tham that we are not going to pay this and to get there manager to explain this are told that the manager was not there and that we had to pay them cash to get in our room. We still stood our ground and they finally told us that it was for people that are under 25 and not 30. When we finally get into our room the AC is broke, the sheets are dirty, and the bathroom stinks. We by not means did not expect this place to be a 5 star resort, but i mean we had to go cuss out the front desk to get clean towels, and they were still wet when they gave us some. The food is horrible as well, and you can almost forget about eating there at night, the line at every place to eat is like an hour long because there are only about 3 place to eat unless your in the GRAND Oasis. The "Club" at the resort is 30 bucks to get in and the drinks suck as well, like not liquor, or watered down. If you do end up going here and staying i would suggest bringing your own fan because you will be hot the whole time, and for you to go across the street and rent a scooter (30 bucks for 24 hours) and go and eat at some nicer places downtown. Also do not rent the lock box in the room for sure because if you lose you key there is no way for them to get in it unless they drill it out, and it is going to cost you atleast 75 bucks cash. The beach sucks behind the resort, drug dealers, and guys trying to get you to buy prostitutes are all over the place.

If you are aged between 18 - 25. You want to party? Have the time of your life? Have great memories? Meet amazing people? Be at the best hotel where its all happening and where everyone talks about? - MAKE SURE you stay in this hotel - IT IS AMAZING!!!

I have been to Cancun 3 years in a row and this is by far the best hotel i have stayed in (previously stayed in the Barcelo Costa Cancun and the Riu Cancun)

The entertainment team are quality! big shout out to Jose, Julio, Luciana and all the others, they made our holiday so much more better!!

Also look out for Yessica (absolute Stunner) she works on Concierge!! haha

The rooms are decent! my air conditioning was fine, the room service was done every day, and i never had anything stolen (and we never used a safety deposit box, just my suitcase)

Food - all of our group thought was fine, good selection everyday
Drink - the aloholic drinks i asked for got me drunk, they tasted ok - so what else can you ask for - if people were to read the description of the hotel it states - alcoholic drinks are locally sourced!!

Beach - yes it is Rocky in places, all you need to do is go about 20 yards futher down, just about in line with the Grand Oasis part of the beach and it is perfect as you can see on my photo's

Pool - is just full of sexy American / Canadian / Mexican and some English Girls - Lads you will be in your element, for the girls theres plenty of lads too you can feast your eyes on lol!

Overall, i think that people should realise the main source of income for this hotel is for the younger genration, if you want to stay in a nice hotel where you can relax and have a peaceful time this isnt the place for you, there plenty of other places you can go!!
This hotel contributed to me and my friends having the best holiday of our lives!!! we will definately be going back next year!! BRING ON SUMMER BREAK JUNE 2010...

Thank goodness we got this trip at a bargain. I can see why they had to heavily discount the cost.

Complaints:

We had to switch rooms because our air conditioning did not work in the first room. We could not get our TV fixed in our second room for the remainder of the stay after multiple calls; we don't stay in the room a lot so it was not a big issue, just a nuisance.

The noise was also a problem, there were people yelling in the hall ways most of the night, especially at around 4am when the bars closed. I thought the prior complaints had a lot to do with spring break, but apparently not. The other noise was from the heavy table and chairs in the rooms being moved. When you move them the noise will be heard rooms away.

My biggest complaint was that we did not have any bottled water furnished for the rooms or a fridge. The bottled water in the lobby was $7, you can go across the street to a small store by Captain's cove. You would think an all inclusive would supply bottled water.

The Cancun beaches are disappearing. We stayed at this resort seven years ago and the beach was a large expansive area, but they have lost a third of the width of the beach area and you now have exposed rocks you have to navigate if you venture into the surf. Our group came back bruised and scraped because we thought we were up for the task. This goes for most of the hotels along right of the 7 in the hotel zone.

The best part of our trip was going off the resort to Captain's Cove restaurant for Steak and Seafood. It's expensive, but the service is top notch. We also ate at a very good Brazilian style restaurant at the resort. We had good food and good service. The people working in the restaurants were all working hard and trying to service everyone, but it looks like they cut the staff, so you may have to be patient. If you run into a great server, I would recommend tipping them. The people in the restaurants had the best customer service.

I have been to Mexico six times and we are going to the Playa Del Carmen area in two weeks, so I say these things knowing the area and having stayed at quite a few different hotels and areas.
