A wonderful resort. Rooms are spacious and stocked with all the necessities. The sales people are not to pushy either! Loved the grounds which have beautiful pools and nice gardens everywhere. The food is wonderful and they have room service also. You can book excursions right there at the resort as well as renting a car. The feature some of special activity each night of the week. Loved taco night ! The staff is very friendly and most helpful. We would love to go back to cancun, specifically back to VCI. If your looking for a negative about the resort ....the ocean by this resort has alot of seaweed wash up although the resort attempts to keep up on that. It would not stop me from staying there again. You can jump on a bus for free that will take you to the royal sands if you want big waves. ENJOY

Oh my gosh!! We spent a week at Club International and don't even know where to begin to tell you how amazing and wonderful this Resort is, but was so impressed I just have to write about our experience. When I learned that C.I. was the oldest of the Royal Resorts I expected it to be quaint.... Never in a million years did I think we would enter this private club..... with gorgous flower garden after flower garden, you just cant stop looking in awww, knowing the termendous up keep to them.

Our bags were checked immediately when we arrived. Check in was smooth and quick, we got to "OUR VILLA" for the week and before we were able to finish looking at our wonderful and spacious 2BR, 5-6person villa, with everything you could need... the bellboy was knocking with our belongings.

Stepping out on the bachany is another breath taking exprience, we were on the 4th floor over looking one of the 2 pools the resort has, and able to see the ocean, right from our bachany with a view you can spend hour after hour admiring.

Our plan before arriving was to take the bus to Walmart, do our shopping and take a cab back. So we could have most of our meals in the villa, since it has everything you could need, as I mentioned, but the store has a wide selection, and we felt the resturant had delicious, reasonalable meals w/ a very happy "HAPPY HOUR"!! So between the resturant and the snack bar we never made it to Walmart, and mainly ate right at the resort.

Another bonus is being able to catch the shuttle between the 6 Royal Resorts, which we never felt the need to leave, since the beach there was absolutely beautiful.... (as it was cleaned daily at 6am, which I seen with my own eyes) the whole resort from house keeping to the grounds were kept immaculate.

After listening to several people raving about the resturant at the Royal Mayan, we did catch the shuttle, and enjoyed a fabulous dinner with an atmosphere to be spoken of.

I personal can't say enough of the staff at the C.I. for thier friendliness, and making sure you had a wonderful vacation, you can tell they take pride in thier work, and thier Resort, you can feel the owership between the members and staff, which can't help but give you that comfortable, warm fuzzy feeling you need to totally RELAX!! Which is key to a true vacation....

In writing this I took a minute to think of something that would of made this vacation more enjoyable, and the best I could come up with, was if it wouldn't of gone so fast!! But you can't blame that on C.I. So I guess all I have left to say is "THANK-YOU" Mark and Club International for Incredible memories that will last a life time to me.

I stayed here with my friend for a week. You had to pay for every single thing. I had 20 dollars stolen from my walet in my purse in my room! I went to the manager and they fiddled around with our lock and told me that the person who cleaned my room had been working there for for 20 years and was very reliable. Grrr. It made me very angry. Escpecially when he said that he could call me in Minnesota and update me on the situation. I don't want to know about it if they weren't going to give me a refund. Also my friends little sister has 1 dollar stolen out of her 2 dollars she got from the tooth fairy. Also they told you that there was a hot tub. What they don't tell you that it is at another hotel, located in the spa and you have to pay $10.00 a day or $40.00 for the week to sit in it. Also they won't let view the hot tub before you pay for it. The pool at our location was freezing cold so we had to go to the royal sands for a warm pool. The beach at our hotel was full of seaweed and almost impossible to swim, due to the fact that there were sting rays and it was long seaweed. If you like what you hear definatly check it out!!

I absolutely recommend Club International De Cancun! I have 5 star taste on a 3 star budget so my expectations are often let down...but I was very happy and satisfied with our accomodations and would come back again. I have 3 negatives and 7 positives on the place. 1) The surrounding area (neighboring hotels, etc) are not as pretty so you don't get the long walks on the beach. 2) I would not count on 2 people sleeping on the murphy bed in the living room. It is definitely a one person bed (maybe 2 kids). 3) There is a pirate party ship that leaves every night at sunset and fires a loud cannon which is annoying. The 7 things I liked best about the place were: 1) dive shop onsite that was excellent (boat and dock are onsite so no buses to deal with), 2) exceptional service from everyone from the maids to the bartenders to the drivers, 3) there is a mini grocery store in the hotel that is awesome with everything you need to do meals in your condo. We did spaghetti, breakfast, sandwiches, ice cream. They really have a great selection. 4) La Palapa (the hotel restaurant) is excellent and has great prices. 5) The beach is very calm and only a couple feet deep for about 50 feet out so it would be ideal for little kids to play in safely. 6) there are sunfish sailboats that are free to use and we had a blast on them 7) there is a free shuttle that runs to the other Royal resorts. We went to the Royal Sands for one day and the Haceinda in Playa for a day. Both places were a little more upscale than our place and it was fun to have a change in scenary.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — exceptional service from staff. very organized, friendly, helpful
    • Disliked — surrounding area (not bad but definitely not as nice so no long walks on the beach)

More than we expected ! What a great place to relax and enjoy the clean , clear amazing water . We had a 2 bedroom 1 bath unit. Room 1064. Amazing views overlooking the beach . The hotel was very clean and so was the beach . There is no waves which is nice for lil ones. We did spend a day over at The Sands, which is a sister hotel . It was very nice although it is much louder and busier . The waves there are great for boogie boarding which we did . You can rent boogie boards for 6.00 an hour. The pool water was chilly, as for the ocean ...... very warm . Our hotel was very accommodating to all of us. Bartolo's Pizza was great , its on the grounds and they deliver to the pool , room or beach . The kids loved it . The pool was was never crowded . I think at any given time maybe 10 people were in it . We did go into town to eat at the locals spots . Very good and reasonable , something not to be found near or in the hotels. If you plan on coming and have a little one that needs a car seat BRING YOUR OWN ! I was told through the rental company that one would be there upon arrival. As I received the rental I asked for the car seat , their response was " you don't need one here in Mexico ". Needless to say , it took 3 days for us to locate one 2 hours away ! Save your time and energy . Overall , no regrets . We enjoyed our stay . Isabel is a part of the concierge team and will tell you where to find all the great shops and spots to eat . Ask for her, you will enjoy all she has to offer !! Have fun !
