I stayed at this hotel in June/July of this year and found that it was not very good. The food is not the best as you get for breakfast what you had for dinner the following evening! - they started building a snack bar around the pool area while I was there and that was the final straw so asked to move. Would also say that this hotel can not be classed as a 3 Star more like a 1 Star. Think the hotel would be better off as a self catering hotel rather than an all inclusive.

One good thing I will say about this hotel is that the people are so nice and they looked after us while we stayed there for a whole 3 days before we moved and the rep is lovely.

Bit of a weird holiday, probably my favorite holiday, but the hotel will probably be on holidays from hell! we got transfered to the Torre Dorada 1 day before we were due to depart. We booked to stay at the El Publito, not exactly sure why we couldnt stay there as the hotel was packed when we went to see what was wrong with it!.. Nothing from what we saw!.. the Torre Dorada isnt a 3* hotel, it's a 2* if that!... the hotel had only just become an all inclusive hotel, they were not able to cope with what was needed. The food selection was awfull and it was barely edable. It was a complete building site around the pool! After we complained and asked to be moved we were told there was no room any where in resort, yet 3 days later 5 groups of people had been moved!...The hotels only saving grace was the effort of the staff, namley, Eric and gama who took us to all the night spots and gave us VIP entry everywhere!... made our holiday!.. however, if your planning a trip here but are not interested in the nightlife, avoid this hotel like the plauge!!!! (Cancun as a resort is amazing!, comming back nxt year)
We did get moved after a week and had a great time in a nice hotel.

If you are booked into this hotel you want to change it to somewhere else in Cancun or not go as the hotel is not finished. There is a building site around the pool, there are rooms that are not finished so it is like staying in a building site. There was hole in the floor around the pool that was covered in a safe way, covered with a fridge door! The food is disguisting you get 5 options for dinner with the all inclusive and the run out of everything from ketchup, bread, beer and water. If you do have to go Eric and Gama will sort you out with some wicked nights out and the rooms are clean and the air conditionings works.

We were transefered to the Torre Dorada by our travel agent without our knowledge and were surprised to note that it was apparently a three star hotel. The room was basic, with no sea or lagoon views, the 'all inclusive' buffet consisted of a very limited choice - no good if you are a vegetarian or diabetic, or even if you just enjoy food. The pool was very small, the bar limited, and rarely open. The building itself was full of health and safety risks, such as cracked steps and dodgy electrics.
The only positive was that the staff were frienldy and willing. We only ended up staying three of out fourteen days holiday before we were transferred home along wth several others. We were not the only people disappointed with the standard of this hotel, there were at least 30 others.
I strongly advise that you do your own research before staying. Great if you want an experience close to camping, but not for those who would like a little piece of Mexican luxury!!!!
