This isn't the resort that really invites those who aren't up for a laugh and a good time. I thought this hotel was brillient. Breakfast was good, never went to lunch as snacks by the pool are great. Evening meals varied, I never had a bad meal there, you have to be willing to try new stuff. If not stay at home and get a take away.
The staff at this hotel are superb, you just need to tip once in awhile and stop being penny pinchers, all inclusive or not. There wages aren't great out there. Bar staff at Torre Dorada made my holiday, as great as it was, the bar staff were brillient. The maids that cleaned the rooms, absolutely great aswell. I've been on holidays where things go missing, I left money and expensive electrical equipment, they never touched it. Clean sheets and a made bed every day.
If don't like this place your rather snobish, and need to get over yourself and have a good time.
I'm already looking on the net to go back.

l totally agree the food wasnt the best they had good and bad days, you can get chips burgers and hotdogs by the pool. An excellent hotel for lads, girls and couples but not ideal for families with children. The maids did an excellent job on our room every day.! The reps eric and mini mex ( you know who you are gammo) were great taking us all into town every night, although they do need to give a wider selection of daily activities they were very very cheeky cheeky. Bar staff werent good at english losts of sign language but they always wanted to please us. A small selection of drinks but they will make most things, the slammers went down well before we went up town. As they have only just gone all inclusive l think it will get better with time. hey,,the hotel is basic..the food medi-ocre..but fudge it,,the atmosphere is amazing,,the reps are great,,and if you have the balls to talk to people it can be the best hotel in cancun..the maid service is great,.,our room was a bomb site and everyday it was spotless..v.v.friendly, for anyone whos not a superficial, pretentious git then this hotel is fine!

This hotel cannot seriously have a star rating at all.
The best thing about this hotel is the room but lets face it you don't go on holiday to sit in your room.
When we arrived at Cancun Airport we were informed that we could not go to the accomodation that we had booked (El Pueblito) for health & safety reasons, so they dumped us here at the Torre Dorada. We were told it was exactly the same rating and all of the facilities where the same.
It was suppose to be all inclusive, thats debatable!
The restaurant with the "all inclusive" buffet was discusting, we had 2 choices for the main meals and no vegetarian options, I was starving. I asked for the menu 3 times, I still haven't seen it!
You have a choice of a cheese burger or a hotdog for snacks through the day, we waited over an hour on one occasion for a hotdog!
The bar was tiny with no entertainment and only Lager, tequila & Vodka to choose from - not an all inclusive choice.
The two pools were small and the slide was out of order.
The pool area turned into a building site the day we finally got moved to a different hotel, 4 days after arriving, being told there was no other rooms anywhere in the whole resort.
This hotel is no more than a 2* if that.
It's safe to say we had the Honeymoon from hell, even when we were moved to a more suitable alternative.
I seriously advise you not to go here, you will not get what you pay for. I cannot understand how it can be called an all inclusive accomodation and rated 3*
Cancun though is great. The night life is amazing with plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants to choose from.
