I stayed at this resort with my boyfriend 6/12/09-6/17/09. It was overall a very good experience. This was our first time in Mexico and have never stayed at a "resort" before. We had a lagoon view deluxe king room that was in the 3rd tower on the 2nd floor. This hotel is very easy on the eyes but not easy on the soles of your feet. Like stated before, there is a lot of walking required to get around. The pool area is quite nice and we were able to get a palapa bed every time we went to the pool. The hotel was not fully occupied though. There werent very many people there and thus it got really dead after the sun starts to set. The good news is that it isnt hard to get to some action just difficult to make up your mind. During our stay 2-3 of the restaurants were closed which forced us to have to find dinner or lunch elsewhere every meal. The bus does stop right in front of the hotel entrance but it is a five minute walk from the front door to the bus stop and up or down about 60 stairs. El Shrimp Bucket across the street was good food and the BBQ Bacon shrimp was AWESOME. The Store Manager Luis was extremely hospitable and the keg of beer at your table is good for the beer lovers. I do want to warn people about the so called "Concierge" desk. As soon as you check in there will be someone waiting behind you that snuck up while you weren't looking that will try to usher you over to the two concierge desks that sit smack in the middle of the walkway forcing you to walk past one of them to get to your room. Don't get suckered into the free welcome breakfast offer, there trying to sell you something. What you probably will need is the "Hospitality" desk. If you arranged round trip transportation through Bestday (which I highly reccommend) you will need to get to this desk sometime after check-in to arrange your transfer back to the airport. This desk is located halfway down the hall to the right of the concierge desk that you probably want to avoid. Past the Expedia office. The Breakfast buffet is really great even for $25 per person. My boyfriend did find a huge Cockroach climbing the wall near our tv the first night which gave me the heebee jeebees for a few days. I also suggest checking your sheets everyday if you don't place the card "do not change sheets today" on your pillow. We went the first 3 days with the card on the pillow but after all the activities and sand that was in our hair we needed the sheets changed and it never happened. FYI I could not find a bagel in Mexico anywhere and I even took the bus to a supermarket in Centro Cancun.
