Contacted vrbo, looking for a condo to sleep 5 people in 5 seperate beds. I made it very clear no sofa beds. Was put in touch with Judy. She rented me a 2 bedroom 3 bath suite. I made the reservation approx. 6 months in advance. Approx. 30 days prior I still had no confirmation. I am a prior owner of a vacation rental company ( unknown to Judy) So I was getting quite worried. I contacted her by phone, she reassured me a confirmation was coming and we again discussed the bed situation. I then received a very basic letter of introduction to Saliva. No other info in the letter as to what I rented or what was included. Being an owner of a simular business I new this was not normal. So I called her again wanting reassurance that I had a 2 bedroom 3bath suite ocean view with with 5 beds. She told me one bedroom had a king and queen, the second had a king queen and a single and that she was the owner of the condo. Which reassured me about the way the reservations were being handled. She was a owner not a rental agent. Come to find out this was not true she is a agent and should know better. Well as you can guess we get there and have a one bedroom condo with one king one double and 2 sofa beds. The condo was nice #403 but not what was requested or paid for. We went from a good price to over paying by $200 posted price for the one bedroom.

I, along with 3 other gals, and 3 teen age girls just got back from Cancun, where we spent a week at the Salvia. It was, as it has been for the past 15 years, fabulous!!! We had unit 501AB. The rooms were great, large enough that we all had plenty of space. (Thanks Judy.....again) We enjoyed the beach, and the pool. The small restaurant in the back of the hotel had all that we needed. There is a small grocery store right next door at the Forum by the Sea, for the things that we wanted to stock our refrigerator. In the past years we have had trouble with the bar across the street with loud music into the wee hours of the morning. I don't know if they were told they needed to shut it down or what, it doesn't matter, because my daughter had the back bedroom and it didn't bother us at all. The Salvia had all we needed. We are making plans for next year and the Salvia will be where we will stay!

I have stayed at resorts in Mexico for 20 years. All of the stays have been at all inclusive resorts. I decided to take the kids this time(teenagers) and did not want to be cooped up in a hotel room with everyone so I chose to rent the condo. The Salvia is not elegant. It is basically a hotel with a travel agent to book tours. Do not expect any activities that you get at the all inclusives. No buffets or any of that. Hence the low price. Take the bus into the city of Cancun and stock up on food at the Wal Mart. Believe it or not there were more Mexicans in that Walmart than the one in Houston! The view from the penthouse was unbelievable and probably the best i've ever had. The front was a perfect view of the beach and the back was the same of the lagoon and entertainment district. A few minutes walk away was the mall, restaurants, and supermarkets. The room was very roomy and comfortable by mexican standards(hot water, water flow, etc). Did not like that the pool closed early and the first night the elevator was broke(long walk on stairs to the 9th floor) but overall it is an economical way to go. Do not miss going to the El Shrimp Bucket for all u can eat shrimp & beer for 25usd!. It was great! Be sure and charge everything you can on your credit card, as the exchange rate is better when it comes through. Alfredo, the tour agent is excellent. Just tell him what u want to do and he'll take care of it. I suggest Garrafon on Isla Mujeras.

Well, I really liked it here. Just to let you know a little about me, I am a college student who was looking for a good time clubbing and excursions with 5 of my closest friends! This place was in prime location! it was a block or two away from Coco Bongos, bull dogs, senor frogs, EVERYTHING! My friends and I couldn't ask for more in the location. The place was actually average, its not the best but tolerable! People were nice and yes we tipped everyone so that could have been the case. My rooms had a Safe so we just put all the money, passports, ipods and such in them when we were out! There wasnt much of a beach in front of the condos but to be honest, we walked a block to the left and there was plenty of beach to relax and chill. We probably spent most of our time out in the pool since the ocean water was really salty. The pool wannt that big but was nice. There were alot of mosquitoes in and out of the room so i suggest that you buy some spray. Other than that I recommend that this place is perfect for those on a budget and students!

Just got back from a week at Salvia. Rented a 2 bedroom unit #502 from Homeaway.com. The view was absolutely gorgeous. There are rocks out on the beach which you can sunbathe on and are just stunning to see. The beach was awesome..... right next door to the Hard Rock Cafe and a little beach bar (Corona Bar) where the wait staff were always right there with an ice cold Margarita :)

Our room was pretty nice.... had a fully equiped kitchen and plenty of space. Ocean views and terraces from the living area and master bedroom. The bed was very comfy in the master bedroom, but in the guest room..... the bed felt like bedrock. The guest room faced the lagoon side (party zone) where the music from Slices across the street started about 6pm and did not stop until 6am each morning. It was extremely hard to sleep..... so make sure the party goers in your group get that room LOL.

You can't get a better location as Hard Rock Cafe, Bull Dogs, Coco Bongo, VIPS (great food), Daddy O, Daddy Rock and the Forum (Rain Forest Cafe etc) are all within walking distance. I also stopped frequently for cerveza at a little market much like 7 eleven here in the states which has just about all the little things you need.

The pool is pretty small, but the pool area is well kept and relaxcing during the day. The staff are friendly and always available to help out. You only get 1 key at check in which is a bit of a pain..... but they say you can leave it down at the front desk with the staff who put it in a mail slot. We ended up making a spare key at Wal-Mart which was much more convienient.

Overall I had a great stay at Salvia and definately reccomend this place for families or those of you on a budget who want to be right by the party scene.... we saved a ton on cab fare.

I would definately stay here again :)
