Our family of four just returned from Cancun after spending a week at the Salvia. We had a great time however the Salvia may not be for everyone. Our family consisted of two adults and two children aged 6 and 7. Here is our assessment:

The Good - Excellent location right in the heart of downtown
- Oceanfront unit with the sounds of waves crashing on the rocks right below our unit
-On the bus route and also parking for your vehicle if you rent one
-Plenty of restaurants, internet cafes etc within easy walking distance
- The staff was extremely helpful as were the snowbirds and permanent residents in the Salvia
- Beach is either side of the Salvia and the kids loved playing on the rocks in front of the Salvia - also lots of waves for the kids to boogie board on - calmer beaches are on the north side of the Hotel Zone
- Amazing sunrises from the Salvia
- The in-house restaurant is cheap and good!!
- The balconies are a good size and have decent patio furniture

The Bad - The tennis court is not operational and is being demolished to make way for a piano bar - neither the owner of the unit who rented to us nor the Salvia website stated this as we brought our tennis racquets with us
- If you don't have an oceanfront unit the clubs play their music until 6 or 7 in the morning and could disturb you
- The beach is limited unless you walk in front of another hotel

If you are looking for a five star building this is not the place for you. If you want a clean, simple condo with basic amenities for a good price in a great location then the Salvia fits the bill. The maid service was good, the unit was clean, the lobby was updated and the pool was adequate.

We would definitely return and would recommend this resort.

We booked nine rooms from Cancun Wayne and were very satisfied. Wayne was easy to work with and even sent a left behind blankie and toy to my grandson in New Jersey. Eighteen of our family members stayed at the Salvia from Christmas through New Years and we all loved it. We had young children (a 1, 2, 3, 4 and a 9 year old) and it was perfect for them. We walked down the beach a ways and it was great for both the young kids, and the adults. We loved being right on the ocean and going to bed with the sound of crashing waves. The hotel/condo is kept very clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They happily gave directions and suggestions on places to eat and get groceries and how to set up tours.

I have been to Cancun many times and I have occupied many hotels but the Salvia is by far my favorite condominium in which to dwell. The beach is beautiful, the staff members are friendly plus attentive, and the rooms are nicely equipped while beholding to the most spectacular views of the turquoise sea. All of this splendor, and it is directly in the heart of the restaurant and club district, where all of the excitement unfolds.

I always book my rooms straight from the owner, Judy, who is very sweet and considerate to the needs of her guests. She asks for all of the details of your trip and goes over her available rooms with descriptive portrayals of each to ensure that your expectations are rightly satisfied.

I hold the Salvia and its surroundings with such great adoration that I was wed this past April on its grounds consisting of the beautiful rock formations and a white sand beach. My father, my uncle, my husband and myself had stayed there in different rooms, 204AB, 501AB, 403, all of which were spacious and creatively decorated. Room 403 was a gem, with a double balcony and master bedroom. It was absolutely astounding. And just as my stay a few months before in room 703, I had enjoyed myself fully as did the rest of my wedding party. Everyone loved it and the nicest part of it all was that the staff and Judy personally made sure that everything was perfect for my wedding, and even arranged meetings with my wedding planner.

I will always go back to the Salvia, not only for its great price and its fantastic, well.. everything, but mostly because the owner, Judy, and the wonderful staff make us feel like we are friends that are always welcome into our vacation home.

You must check out this place, it is the jewel of Punta Cancun!

Contacted vrbo, looking for a condo to sleep 5 people in 5 seperate beds. I made it very clear no sofa beds. Was put in touch with Judy. She rented me a 2 bedroom 3 bath suite. I made the reservation approx. 6 months in advance. Approx. 30 days prior I still had no confirmation. I am a prior owner of a vacation rental company ( unknown to Judy) So I was getting quite worried. I contacted her by phone, she reassured me a confirmation was coming and we again discussed the bed situation. I then received a very basic letter of introduction to Saliva. No other info in the letter as to what I rented or what was included. Being an owner of a simular business I new this was not normal. So I called her again wanting reassurance that I had a 2 bedroom 3bath suite ocean view with with 5 beds. She told me one bedroom had a king and queen, the second had a king queen and a single and that she was the owner of the condo. Which reassured me about the way the reservations were being handled. She was a owner not a rental agent. Come to find out this was not true she is a agent and should know better. Well as you can guess we get there and have a one bedroom condo with one king one double and 2 sofa beds. The condo was nice #403 but not what was requested or paid for. We went from a good price to over paying by $200 posted price for the one bedroom.

I, along with 3 other gals, and 3 teen age girls just got back from Cancun, where we spent a week at the Salvia. It was, as it has been for the past 15 years, fabulous!!! We had unit 501AB. The rooms were great, large enough that we all had plenty of space. (Thanks Judy.....again) We enjoyed the beach, and the pool. The small restaurant in the back of the hotel had all that we needed. There is a small grocery store right next door at the Forum by the Sea, for the things that we wanted to stock our refrigerator. In the past years we have had trouble with the bar across the street with loud music into the wee hours of the morning. I don't know if they were told they needed to shut it down or what, it doesn't matter, because my daughter had the back bedroom and it didn't bother us at all. The Salvia had all we needed. We are making plans for next year and the Salvia will be where we will stay!
