We stayed at the Salvia in Feb. of 2009. It met & exceeded our expectations. The condo looks as if it is one of the older places in the hotel zone. The grounds could use a little work (which it appeared they were working on it). The lobby area was very nice and the person behind the desk was very helpful. The Salvia is right on the beach (allthough the "beach" consists of rocks in front of the Salvia). I am sure that it depends on which condo you rent, but ours was overlooking the ocean and it was very nice. I could see how if you had one overlooking the lagoon side it could be pretty loud. Since ours faced the ocean we slept with the door open a couple of nights and were put to sleep by the loud noise of the waves crashing against the shore. We felt very safe while staying at the Salvia, which was a big concern of ours. If you are just looking for a cheaper place to stay that has clean nice rooms then this place is for you. If you are looking for any extra amenities then you might want to look elswhere. Overall we were pleased with our experence and would stay here again if our travels get us back to Cancun.
