Well, I really liked it here. Just to let you know a little about me, I am a college student who was looking for a good time clubbing and excursions with 5 of my closest friends! This place was in prime location! it was a block or two away from Coco Bongos, bull dogs, senor frogs, EVERYTHING! My friends and I couldn't ask for more in the location. The place was actually average, its not the best but tolerable! People were nice and yes we tipped everyone so that could have been the case. My rooms had a Safe so we just put all the money, passports, ipods and such in them when we were out! There wasnt much of a beach in front of the condos but to be honest, we walked a block to the left and there was plenty of beach to relax and chill. We probably spent most of our time out in the pool since the ocean water was really salty. The pool wannt that big but was nice. There were alot of mosquitoes in and out of the room so i suggest that you buy some spray. Other than that I recommend that this place is perfect for those on a budget and students!

Just got back from a week at Salvia. Rented a 2 bedroom unit #502 from Homeaway.com. The view was absolutely gorgeous. There are rocks out on the beach which you can sunbathe on and are just stunning to see. The beach was awesome..... right next door to the Hard Rock Cafe and a little beach bar (Corona Bar) where the wait staff were always right there with an ice cold Margarita :)

Our room was pretty nice.... had a fully equiped kitchen and plenty of space. Ocean views and terraces from the living area and master bedroom. The bed was very comfy in the master bedroom, but in the guest room..... the bed felt like bedrock. The guest room faced the lagoon side (party zone) where the music from Slices across the street started about 6pm and did not stop until 6am each morning. It was extremely hard to sleep..... so make sure the party goers in your group get that room LOL.

You can't get a better location as Hard Rock Cafe, Bull Dogs, Coco Bongo, VIPS (great food), Daddy O, Daddy Rock and the Forum (Rain Forest Cafe etc) are all within walking distance. I also stopped frequently for cerveza at a little market much like 7 eleven here in the states which has just about all the little things you need.

The pool is pretty small, but the pool area is well kept and relaxcing during the day. The staff are friendly and always available to help out. You only get 1 key at check in which is a bit of a pain..... but they say you can leave it down at the front desk with the staff who put it in a mail slot. We ended up making a spare key at Wal-Mart which was much more convienient.

Overall I had a great stay at Salvia and definately reccomend this place for families or those of you on a budget who want to be right by the party scene.... we saved a ton on cab fare.

I would definately stay here again :)

I had a very good experience at this property. I stayed in a 2nd floor studio unit last week, which I rented directly from Dennis & Wayne from CancunCondos.com. After mailing them a check, I simply showed up at the front desk with a copy of the e-mail they sent me, and the guy at the counter handed me a key to my room.

As the previous reviewer wrote, there isn't much beach in front of the condo building, but the hurricane and weather erosion have created a cool scene where it's a bit rocky and the waves crash in very nicely and splash up in the air. I kinda like that, as it's a different visual than the rest of the normal beach. If you want, you can walk north up to the NH Krystal property, and check out their beach / pool. Or you can simply walk 100 yards or so to the south and find plenty of sand, and good waves for boogie boarding, body surfing, etc. Another option is to jump on the cheap (65 cents) bus, and head down the road to a better beach area.

The condo location is great for nightlife. It's right next door to Carlos 'n Charlie's, Combalache Argentinian Big Steak House (had a fabulous dinner there!), the Hard Rock Cafe, and the rest of the party zone. It's also a short walk from Senor Frog's and convenience stores. I found this very convenient in the evening, and didn't have any issue myself with noise, though I must admit there wasn't much sound still coming from the clubs by the time I turned in! For me, the worst part about staying there was dealing with the mild harassment you face from people in the party zone trying to get you to go on their tours or check out their timeshares. Some of them are fairly relentless, and annoying.

For a large group trip, I wouldn't really recommend this place, unless everyone goes into it knowing that it's pretty much a discount deal, and you're not getting much in terms of amenities. The studio room was clean, for the most part, though there were some out of the way spots in the room that could've used a bit more elbow grease. Personally, I think it's well suited to young adults or a couple that wants to be close to the action, and wants a decent, affordable room.

  • Liked — Excellent proximity to nightlife - clubs and restaurants.
  • Disliked — Rooms could be a bit cleaner in spots.

Our friends organized a New Year vacation to Cancun and we tagged along. Have never been there before, so didn't participate much in the decision-making and just sent our money for deposit. Cut a long story short - basically we hated it.

First let me list the good things. To be clear - nobody tried to rip us off or misrepresented anything. The rooms were also clean inside (daily cleaning), furniture was on par with an ok college dorm. Staff was friendly, you are very close to the beach.

The negatives - it's located smack in the middle of downtown Cancun which means non-stop music blaring (we stayed facing hte ocean so could sleep, but i have no idea how you can sleep if your room faces the street) Also we come from a large city and when we travel want to feel like we actually left the big city. Here you fee like you're in the middle of Queens , with a beach behind you. Now the beach - it sucked. You have to either go to the beach club in front of the mall ($10 a person + $20 for a cabanna) or slum it out with the local kids on the public beach. They're nice, but favorite game seems to be 'throw mud at your friends'. Common areas of the condominium feel very bare, kinda run down. Doors either slam very hard or have annoying hinges on them that make closing very difficult. The main reason why my friends got it was cost, think we paid about 900 for a week. However, that doesn't include food. Think would have been a much better deal to get a nice all-inclusive hotel for 1500 with a nice beach. This way we tried to save but ended up not really liking the hotel or location.

The salvia is the perfect place to stay in cancun...with all the clubs and restraunts out the front door it is ideal.

the beach is terrific about 35-50 yards in either dirrection out the back door. directlly behind the condos the beach is made of 3 big flat rocks perfect for watching the sun come up with a bottle of sparkly and the wife!!!!

the room we were in was clean and big enough to sleep 5. i hghly reccomend this hotel for young couples and not too out of control party-goers.

make sure you try the juevos rancheros from the little poolside restraunt with a michilada (beer, ice, limejuice) to start your day right.

seeing as i was there for new years, i was suprised, but the noise wasn't too bad from the clubs. i would bring some earplugs just incase your a light sleeeper.

if you stay here or anywhere near this hotel i would make sure you get the 2x1 entertainment card. within 3 blocks there's atleast 5 restraunts you can use the card at.

carlos n charlies (next door) has a good deal with the card. incl....3hrs drinkn and dinner for $30 a piece....well worth it....

the seahorse and my place are a must for dinner as well....

if ya dont know; the card entitles you to a free entree when you purchase another!!!! the more you spend on dinner the more you save!!! basically after 5pm you have to get desert or an apptzer as well.

checjk this out...@the seahorse....lobster, huge steak, potatoe, veggies,garlic bread,chip n salsa, margaritas (2 huge ones) , desert....$50 incl. about $8 tip.

that right there paid for the card $15. my steak was free ($18)

if your interested just go to cacnuncare.com

anyway....salvia Good!!!!
