Well this is the first time I write a review on some hotel. I do not want to say that I had only bad experience but it was the highlight of my trip.
As a matter of fact first day we arrived around 12:30. Since we knew from previous reviews that pool area is noisy we requested a room far from the pool and with a balcony. At the reception told us that if we wanted a room with balcony we have to wait until 3.00 pm for check-in. It was fine with us although we arrived from cold NYC and had only warm clothes. Waiting for our check-in we went to browse around a little bit. At first we were not satisfied. We could not have normal lunch outside of buffet restaurant because there were a lot of birds. If you leave something on the table unatended birds immediately come to your table. Pool area was noisy and latter on while checking the gorunds someone throw glass of beer through the window almos hitting my girlfriend. Finally at the reception they told us that they did not have room with balcony and that we could get one tommorow (why were we waiting than?). Not satisfied we wanted to change the hotel and girl who was working for the Hotel told us that we could go to some other Oasis hotel or to Park Royal Hotel. If we want to move to Park Royal we should go there to check whether we like it. With a hope we paid for the wi-fi internet and went to our room. Of course there was no connection in the room. At the reception told us that if we want internet we have to be in the lobby because connection on upper floors is bad (Thanks for telling me that immediately). We did our work checked all hotels and did not find any Oasis good for our needs. We wantted to move to Park Royal and told that to girl who recomended us that hotel. Insteda to help us she insisted that we should go to see Park Royal before making a decision. I told her ok we would go but first tell us what was the rate. She did not know. Apparently her boss knew the rate and she would call him. When we came back she still hed not have the rate. "You can switch the hotel just go and check before you do it" she was telling to us (as a matter of fact she was trying to sell us time share). We lost our afternoon trying to get information from the hotel staff. Guy at the reception told us "between us she is trying to sell you time share and if you want to move to another hotel you have to pay full price". Oh really, like we did not know that.
What we could we stayed at the hotel. Tommorow moved to the room with a balcony. We spent our time far awey from the pool area (and there we could barrely hear any noise what was ok). Beach was ok. Enterance to the water is rocky but you can find your way to the sandy part. Watter is shallow and good for swimming (although maybe too shallow). At the restaurant we remained inside to avoid the birds. Food was ok. In my opinion even better than food in RIU Los Cabos. Sushi was excellent but you have to wait even more than half and hour to get your order. Hotel is worn out but cleaning ladies keep the rooms clean. Beach area was not mainatined good. Every morning there was a lot of glasses at the beach. All in all we were ready to give good raiting to the hotel having in mind what you are getting for the money.
Than on check-out day we had transportation at 10.00 pm. We were in the lobby at 9.45. Bellboy who was ther did not speak english but I could understand him that he did not have the key of the storage room and that we have to wait for his colleague to bring us our luggage. At 9.55 he was not there. I went to the reception and girl overthere told me to wait for five minutes and she would find solution. At 10.00 pm our transportation arrived but our luggage was not ready. We asked for a mannager and the girl at the reception was reluctant to call him (why?). At 10.10 some guy arrived and girl told us that he was the manager. He tried to open the storage room but did not have the right key. It turned out that he was not the manager (so girl at the reception lied to us). We wanted to call police but they told us that they could not call police from the hotel (imagine that!). Another guy at the reception told us that bellboy was at the service (how he can know whre is he? If he knows that why did not he called him to come down to open the door). In a meantime I spoke with the security of the hotel. At 10.15 manager showed up. He was listening but he could not help us beacause nobady had the key. Finally security guy brought key and after 30 minutes we got our luggage. They told us that they would pay us a taxi but if we waited for another half an hour we would be late for the plane. I do not understand why they had to lie to us. It happened first day it happened last day and it shows that if something happens you can not relly on the hotel staff and management.
In the end. I never go twice to the same place and if you ask me (after two Mexico trips Los Cabos and Cancun) I would reccomend you Dominican Republic. There they have better beaches and more attentive staff. Food was also better and for the money it is much better deal.
