My family + I went on a trip to Cancun and we found Oasis Viva beach. It was very nice. When we arrived from the airport, there was already a shuttle bus waiting for us ! It was LUXURIOUS ! They carefully took our luggage and put it in the bus. We offered help, but they were very nice and said "no, thank you " ! When we arrived at the hotel, we where charmed by the beautiful land scape that surrounded it. We walked into the lobby and we walked to the front desk. We were greeted with the general manager personally giving us fruity drinks. We easily got checked in, and a bellboy took all our luggage up to our room. The hallways were very cool because they were made out out of glass overlooking Cancun! Our room was very large + spacious !

By the time we arrived, got checked in, etc., it was dark. We were very hungry, so we went to the buffet. It was CLOSED ! At 9 ! So, we walked on the beach , and it was the best beach in Cancun !

Then, we went around Cancun, and Oasis Viva beach was really close to downtown !

We went to sleep in the really comfy bed. Then, wakeup was easy, and everyone stayed on the beach ! As I said, BEST BEACH IN CANCUN !

We ate at the main buffet, and the food was very, very, very, very extravagent ! We wanted to go to our room, except then , my mom + I went to the managers office (oh yeah, he LOCKED us in there !) and he said "just sign all of these papers and you will get a free spa day in the hilton!" My mom was so intreiged, she didn't even read any thing , just was begining to take her pen out when then my dad saw something was wrong, and knocked on the window and recued my mom from signing everything. I toolk my time to read the paper, and on the very last page it said " If signed must buy time-share from hilton". Thank god she didn't sign !

The family went to eat again and we became freinds with another family ! Then , they told us to never sign because they did, and they had their spa day but then, they were asked to buy the timeshare and they said "no", so they got locked in their room even though they threatened to call the police, so they did and they police had to take ALL the staff down ! The people sued and they got their money back !

Oh yeah , and leave tips if you don't want to get a rolled eye look and then wait half an hour for coffee !

Besides all of that, the room was very clean and large, the location was great, and the food was good !

I recomend coming here if you don't sign the time share, leave tips, and enjoy all the great things they have !

P.S. They have yoga classes in the morning, activities throughout the day, and free concerts at night !

P.S.S. The service CAN be good ! A lot if the staff gave warm smiles thoughout !

We were 2 families, a total of 10 people: 4 adults, 5 teenagers and a 6 year old coming from CA.. and Indiana. I initially wrote in my gringa Spanish (which my friend re-wrote) and mailed a letter asking for remodeled rooms and rooms that were either next to each other or adjoining rooms. These requests were accommodated before our arrival. The service and the food at the restaurants were good. Ok the sushi wasn't that great, but is that really a surprise? The wine was just ok, but again, it is an all-inclusive so what do you expect? We did go across the street and bought a bottle of wine to bring to dinner. I loved that all the rooms had an oceanview.
Domingo the bartender was especially liked by my son and girlfriend.

Yes, I knew about the swine flu. What I didnt know is that 3 days into our trip the hotel decided to close and move us all to the Oasis Cancun. ( but more on that later- thats a whole new review) We liked the Oasis viva beach it is worth the $ for a 3 star hotel. Our room had a beautful balcony view and the beach was the safest and most beautiful I'd seen.We loved the food, too.Since we went during the flu scare it was very mellow and quiet. Lots of beach chairs and room at the pool. The staff was very nice. The location was awesome ,you could walk or catch a bus anywhere.I would stay at the viva again if it werent for the "oasis" name. 3 days into our trip they decided to close due to "low volumes". We didnt want to go, but they told us we had no choice, they were closing!!. We hated the new hotel(see review on Oasis Cancun- If they post it.) 4 days after we moved , my husband remembered something he had forgotton in the Oasis viva beach room. He went there to see if someone could let him in and They never closed!! The same people were still there having a great time! Business as usual. I still have no idea why they made us move. The customer service stinks.

We arrived at the hotel at 8am, we had our room by 11am. Before we got the room, we had an appetizing breakfast, the spread was amazing, with all tropical fruits meats, chicken, pasta, cereals and all kinds of yogurts, etc.
We sat in the lounge chairs after breakfast, and enjoyed the sunshine. We were smart, we had packed our bathing suits in a carry-on so we were ready for the beach. At 11 am we had the bell boy help us take all our lugage to the room. We had a beautiful room with a panoramic view of the Ocean, king size bed, extremely clean. Very friendly staff. The bar staff and all other staff bent over backwards to serve us. We got a call from the front desk the next day inquiring if our room was ok and our stay was comfortable.

Food, food and more food!! Extremely good food!! catering to people of all backgrounds, children, youngster and elderly. They even put out sandwitches after the buffet was closed at night. What more can you ask for? At lunch, besides the buffet, the restaurant was taking orders for burgers, nachos, chicken wings and delivering to the individuals on the beach. We had two meals in the restaurants, and were ok.
Besides when people are out shopping or sightseeing, I would think, they could coin-up and buy some food for themselves, rather than wait for the whole day to feed their hunger and anger. I feel that people that are looking for more than what this resort has to offer, should go to an 8* or more.
If you want internet service in your room, I suggest you go to a Hilton or a Sheraton, obviously, you are not there to relax but work!! That's asking for tooooo much in Mexico!
Wake up and smell the coffee before complaining!
Do you change your sheets daily in your own bed at night??
The hotel is close to the strip of other hotels and night life, shopping and nightly romantic strolls. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, we will be back again this year.
Incidentally people were transferring from other Oasis Hotels to this one and calling it "SHANGRILA", Amazing isnt it, after other bad reviews.

Your trip is what you make it, if your expectations are unreasonable, you will never be happy, anywhere you go.

I will surely be back

We went to relax there not to work so we did not want internet service in our room. Also what do you expect when you are looking for a deal!!

April 12-16, 2009 This was our second stay in two years at the Oasis Viva. Even though our luggage didn't make the trip with us from Atlanta, we were excited to get to the hotel. We no more than walked in the door to get in line to check in and we were approached by a staff member. They were waiting on us, sat us down at the concierge desk and we were checked in within 5 minutes. Our room was on the 8th floor. We were a bit disappointed that there was not balcony, but that was minor. We had a beautiful view. The room was clean, they had made a towel deocration of two swans in a heart that was on our bed. Our luggage didn't come when we expected, they offered, without us asking, toothbrushes/toothpaste and anything else we might need while waiting on our things. Once our luggage did arrive, they called us, at 12:30 a.m., to tell it was there, but because all the bellmen had gone, they kept until the next morning and then brought it to our room.
During our stay, the food was good. We ate at the Italian Restaurant 2 nights and the Mexican restaurant once. The remaining evenings, breakfasts, and lunches were eating in the buffet restaurant. Each was adequate, we surely didn't starve the entire 5 days we were there. Yes, the drinks were watered down, but not so much that it kept us from having drinks. The banana daiqueries(sp?) were the best. Wine was offered with out evening meals without asking. Our room was kept clean on a daily basis, we always had hot water when showering.
The beach is the best part of the Oasis. There is no comparison between the Oasis' beach and the beaches of the resorts beside it. You can walk right out to the beach and into the ocean. We like being on the beach during the day and there were always enough chairs. We used the long pool and it rarely had anyone in it! The only drawback while we were there was the seaweed! There was tons of it. The workers worked each day to clean it up, but it just kept coming back! Our checkout was quick and effortless. The staff was always polite.
Overall, for the price we paid for this trip we had a great time and had very little to complain about. We would definately return.
