I have just recently returned from 2 weeks at the gran caribe and i have nothing bad to say about it at all! It was the best holiday ever! The hotel and staff were amazing . The sports and entertainment team made the holiday for me and my best friend as we went out with them every night we went out, we got very close to Miguel from the sports and entertainment team as he made the holiday very special for us both and made sure that we and everybody else in the hotel was 100% happy 100% of the time, a very hard worker who deserves recognition!! Wish i could be back there now!!!

My boyfriend and I went to the Gran Caribe in the height of the swine flu hype, and I'm so glad that we didnt change our destination. We had a wonderful time, and really didnt encounter any problems (minus the last night when a senior trip invaded the hotel and were super obnoxious, but they're young so you cant expect too much). Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and accommodating, they were happy to answer any questions that we had. The location was fantastic, we actually ending up walking back from the clubs one night and I felt completely safe (although it was a bit longer than we anticipated). The food was terrific, like everyone has said Maria's is fantastic, the flaming coffee is so fun to watch as well. The drinks were great, and if you ask to make them strong they definitely do. Overall we loved our time here, and would definitely return.

While staying at the Gran Caribe Real, we met a bunch of people from all over the United States and from Europe. We are still talking to those people. It was a great atmosphere to meet new friends. The activities staff was amazing. I became close friends with Ale and Jesus. We went out to the bars with the them a few times, they were so much fun. During the day at the hotel Ale and Jesus were always keeping stuff fun and very entertaining. I miss them so much and they made a huge imprint on my life. I will remember them for the rest of my life.

My wife and I went on a short birthday surprise trip to Cancun. Because I booked this on the inexpensive side I was a bit leary of what we would find upon arrival. Let me say that we were thrilled. This resort was well within our expectations. Food was good to excellent, drinks were well portioned, staff was friendly and helpful. The people we met at the resort were very friendly as well. Overally our 4 day trip was very memorable and it turned out to be a very nice way to spend the week. We only left the resort to walk to two different markets for some local shopping. A couple things of note, this resort is very clean and nice, but it is also very small compared to others we stayed with in the past. This is not a problem for us but exploring this resort wouldn't take long at all. If you are into large sprawling resort properties this one is probably not for you. However, if you'd just like a place that gets you into the middle of the Cancun Hotel Zone action and provides a clean comfortable place to stay and offers good consistent dining and drink options then this is definitely a spot you should consider.
