I'll keep it short and sweet....

We stayed between 28th May and 12th June

The food: People complain about its monotomy, but there is PLENTY of choice at the hotel, the sushi/poolside bar, Marias a la carte, The Sunset Grill and the choice of 2 Buffet style restaurants where the food is always fresh and varied (despite previous comments)

The rooms: Very generously sized with good facilities and a very well stocked mini bar!

The Staff: The entertainment team were AMAZING - a special mention for Esteban, Ale, and Miguel who made our trip so worthwhile that we will be back again next year!!!

I have been to the best hotels in Cancun and while this is certainly not a 5 star, I have trouble identifying huge differences between this one and those rated much higher. The room was definitely older and the hotel certainly has rooms with poor views, but they have great amenities such as the OKI Splash water park for kids and the buffets were as good as any I have eaten at in 5 star All-Inclusives. The a la carte restaurants were also good, especially Maria's. We got an awesome deal on this property and I would say we got MORE than what we paid for. Service was very good everywhere and the housekeeping could not have kept the property cleaner.

I have just recently returned from 2 weeks at the gran caribe and i have nothing bad to say about it at all! It was the best holiday ever! The hotel and staff were amazing . The sports and entertainment team made the holiday for me and my best friend as we went out with them every night we went out, we got very close to Miguel from the sports and entertainment team as he made the holiday very special for us both and made sure that we and everybody else in the hotel was 100% happy 100% of the time, a very hard worker who deserves recognition!! Wish i could be back there now!!!

My boyfriend and I went to the Gran Caribe in the height of the swine flu hype, and I'm so glad that we didnt change our destination. We had a wonderful time, and really didnt encounter any problems (minus the last night when a senior trip invaded the hotel and were super obnoxious, but they're young so you cant expect too much). Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and accommodating, they were happy to answer any questions that we had. The location was fantastic, we actually ending up walking back from the clubs one night and I felt completely safe (although it was a bit longer than we anticipated). The food was terrific, like everyone has said Maria's is fantastic, the flaming coffee is so fun to watch as well. The drinks were great, and if you ask to make them strong they definitely do. Overall we loved our time here, and would definitely return.
