A business trip brought me to Aqua in March 2009 and because my company footed the bill, I have no idea what it cost, but I do know I would definitely return. The hotel was immaculately clean. The vibe is very zen-like with tons of aromatherapy scents in the air. The even offer aromatherapy in the room every night free of charge. One night they even brought a rock garden and a water fall which were incredibly helpful with calming my stress levels with my business trip. My room overlooked the center of the main pool, but I think there are at least 7. It looked amazing. The staff was nice, but my one issue was that they were not as prepared for guests as they should have been. I waited over an hour to check into my room, even though the hotel was only at 30% capacity, mainly because the hotel was understaffed (because tourism was down due to Mexico-border violence) . Which was the other down-side. The hotel had a really cool lounge, but there were so few people staying at the hotel that it was near-empty every night. In any case, I've been to Cancun 3 times - twice for personal trips - and this is the best hotel I've stayed at. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend it. (Almost forgot to mention - the spa is AMAZING!!)

We originally booked an oceanfront room with balcony. Once the flu scare kicked in, we watched for the US travel advisory status as our trip got closer. A week out, the advisory was lifted (we were going regardless). At the same time I checked the rates and they were lower for an ocean front room with a terrace and breakfast included. So I canceled, and rebooked. Great deal.

Our only other trip to Cancun was last year when we stayed at Le Blanc. So our comparison was constantly referring back to Le Blanc. Of course, that's not fair, so we tried to keep an open mind on Aqua.

Just like last year, I used Brant at Entertainment Plus for transport from the airport. Great people! Check In was flawless. We were led to our room where we unpacked and then headed to get some lunch. We ate at the hotel's Azur which was pretty good, but over priced for lunch.

The hotel is really nice with tile everywhere. The pool areas are great. Actually, I'd rate their pool areas as nice as Le Blanc I think.

We ate dinner at the hotel's MB which was great. We also ate several times across the street at the La Isla shopping mall. The hotels locations was great from this standpoint, as walking to several very good places for dinner was easy.

Our room was very nice and spotless.

We are hooked on Cancun and spent the ride back to the airport scouting future hotels we want to try.

Stayed with my husband the end of March for 3 nights and wish it could have been longer. The resort is gorgeous. Our room was quite large, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. The staff was very helpful. We also really enjoyed the food in the restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised by the wine list, wine cellar and knowledgeable staff. The outdoor mall across the street very convenient too. The Mexican restaurant there had excellent margaritas. Unfortunately, the hot tub was in the family area and overrun with kids in their floaties the whole time we were there. Oh, and why were there kids sitting at the wine bar one night?! I imagine the adult area must get crowded when the resort is more full - it couldn't have been at half capacity when we were there and one afternoon there were only two available chairs by the adult pool. Drinks were expensive and we were glad we bought a couple of bottles of wine at the airport before heading to the resort. And then a couple more at the mall across the street...The spa looked really nice. Didn't have any services there, but we changed in the spa upon arrival (at noon) because our room wasn't ready. The service wasn't quite 5 star but for just over $200 a night, it was an EXCELLENT value and I would stay there again. If I had to pay over $300 a night, I would at least look elsewhere, but I think that's about what it's worth.

We booked this holiday after Jetblue started direct flights from Tampa to Cancun, we have a 2 year old so direct flights are a must. From the minute you walk through the door of the hotel you know that it is something rather special, the hotel was beautiful, very zen and very relaxing, calming music and essential oils to make you feel like you are in a relaxing spa. We had booked a 3 night stay in an Aqua Suite, on check in we asked if the cabanas were included in the room but were told unfortunately not, but the receptionist managed to book one for us for that afternoon and complimentary as it was my birthday weekend.

The check in procedure was in my opinion a little long, we were sat in reception (albeit a beautiful one!) for over an hour, whilst we were brought peppermint tea and given all the information about the hotel - this was all very nice but we were only there for 3 days and just wanted to get to the pool as quickly as possible and all the information being given I could have read about in an info pack in the room. We were asked if we would like an upgrade to a bigger suite and we did view it but decided that the Aqua was actually nicer than the more expensive one that they showed us. The Aqua suite was beautiful, very large with separate living room and open plan bedroom and spa/jacuzzi tub, very modern, huge patio which got sun on it till about 3-4pm fantastic!

The pool, sorry pools there are 8 of them were amazing, there is a large sun shelf running the whole length of the largest pool and this was perfect for our 2 year old to splash around in he actually spent 3 whole days in the pool, it was not busy at all. The pool drinks service was amazing all of the waiters were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us - they even bought be a cake and balloons out when they found out it was by birthday and all sung happy birthday to me.

The breakfast buffet at the Siete is out of this world, and the spa breakfast on the a la carte menu was to die for. All of the food in all 3 restaurants was world class, - we actually never left the hotel for food as we didn't need to the selection was so good, - they even microwaved a Gerber toddler meal for my little boy as the menu is not that child friendly at MB but as I had read that on another review I took along a coupe for him, they brought it up on a china plate with small childrens cutlery, very sweet, we will definitely return just so that we can try everything that we missed on the menu's.

The only down side to this hotel is that if you like a beach holiday (luckily I 'd rather have a pool any day)! you will miss out here the beach is just to narrow and the waves were so bad whilst we were there you couldn't even dip your toe in.

Overall though for us as a family with a small child the hotel was perfect, we were able to have a family holiday but also have a grown up holiday at the same time.

Stayed at the Aqua from 4/16 to 4/20. Based upon pictures and reviews, my wife and I expected a beautiful beach/pool resort getaway, and the Aqua certainly delivered. What really impressed, however, was the Aqua's ability to combine their spectacular resort setting with clean, romantic, comfortable luxury and world-class food/drinks/room service.

I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed the food & drinks and helpful staff during our stay. The breakfast buffet was great, with highlights including fruit (esp. cantaloupe and honeydews), juice and eggs-to-order station. Poolside drinks were fantastic and made to order, with all the proper ingredients to offer pretty much anything we could request (frozen bellinis and perfect margaritas - grand marnier/1800/sauza w/ lime juice and simple syrup, on the rocks of course - were big hits). The mb(?)restaurant was posh and very good. Room service was top-notch. Proximity to La Isla shopping center was a big plus, too - not necessarily for the shopping, but for Thai (restaurant) - it is the top-rated restaurant in Cancun on TripAdvisor for a reason.

We also made use of the spa on the first day of our stay (prior to any sunburn) and had wonderfully relaxing massages. We left regretting not being able to stay longer, and would return in a heartbeat. Bravo!
