We made a reservation six months in advance to insure a good room. We selected a mid range room which was larger and a bit nicer than the others. The room also had a balcony looking out over the water.
This place has some pros:
The pool area is fantastic, the rooms are beautifully appointed and the staff (all kids) that dealt with us tried to be very helpful.
The cons:
When we arrived we were put on the sixth floor on the end. The room was very nice with a great view. As we started to unpack I heard this loud roar of equipment. I walked onto the balcony and looked down to the side. There was the roof top of all the restaurants with giant vent fans and compressors. But the real clincher was when I tried to take a shower and all that came out was scalding hot brown crud.
I went to the front desk and explained the problems and asked for another room. I was told that I would get an upgraded room the same size with breakfast. That sounded good. When we got to the room it was their smallest cheapest room and a breakfast would be better at a Holiday Inn. And when my wife tried to wash off in the tub orangey water would come out.
I went to the front desk the next morning and requested the room that I was paying for. They moved us (third room in 24 hours) to the third floor to a room of the type that we were paying for. And yes they put us near the restaurant mechanicals. We gave up.
An additional frustration with this whole process is that the staff had to go into an office and get permission from a person that apparently was too important to come out and apologize and make sure we were happy with the accommodation.
