The first time we took our young family, the staff made us feel like we were family, NOT a ' Room-Number Guess " ... Now our children are grown & we STILL look forward on coming back to this "Family-Oriented" Home, (not hotel, as we see it) . Hope God grant us much more life to keep enjoying one of HIS many wonderful creations.

The location is great, it is on the beach and a little bit away from the main Cancun nightlife area. While much of Cancun looks like Las Vegas, the Fiesta Americana has some character....it looks like a Mexican village. The beach & the water are great and very uncrowded. Our room was cleaned daily and we did see a few sugar ants (very few), but keeping food off of the counters is the key (this is the tropics..so your choice is a ton of pesticides or a few ants). The rooms were maybe not the most up to date, but they were nice, comfortable and clean. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and their English was quite good. All of their suggestions for sightseeing, restaurants, etc. were right on the mark...like going to Chichen Itza early in the morning (we had a rental car) which avoids the heat & tour buses & then going to Ik Kil Cenote for a quick dip in the cool waters. We had a great stay.

We had been to Fiesta Americana prior to it becoming time-share many times. It was a great time with the family. It still is today - nice beach, calm water, nice staff, activities, etc. but needs maintenance and better staff communication (speak english). Our room was not cleaned for 2-days! But Miguel, the asst. manager tried to make it right - A+ when he found out.

The exchange rate was better than the banks! The prices for food/drinks in the resort were very reasonable with friendly and attentive staff.

House-keeping needs work! Ants all over in the pantry/sink area.

The kids really missed Felix - who is now at The Aqua Marina Hotel.

We stayed for 5 nights and overall had a great time.

We stayed here thru our Hilton Grand Vacation Club points ( they have agreement with FA in Mexico and Club Intrawest in Canada) and the reviews I've read are dead on. Rooms are big enough, yet dated. The mattresses were very uncomfortable with thin sheets. Staff are polite,
very helpful and prices were reasonable for food and drinks. Close to mini marts , so we grabbed bottled water, gatorades and 9 peso ( yes... $ .75 amer) Negro Modelo beer, my favorite and put in room fridge. they had the best exchange rate for the US dollar, for we stayed at the Fiesta Amer Grand Coral last 2 nights and they were 70 pesos less per dollar for a 5 star hotel. Guess they need to make money somehow. But, the Villas Cancun had a small pool and a very limited swimmable beach. In the busy part of Hotel Zone, felt safe walking day and night. We had 4 teens so they thought that kinda cool. Take the buses.. They are cheap and drivers are like NYC cabbies. Free washer and dryer on same floor, which came in handy with 6 people traveling. Don't think I'd rush back to stay there, most likely choose another location.
