We are on our last day at this resort. Our home timeshare is at the Regina in Cabo but this is our second visit at the location. Last year, we did not have a great impression, but the beach and location next to the Westin are so great - we gave it a second try. They have significantly renovated the guestrooms since our last stay. The service has been very good and the people very friendly. The room was clean and I never saw a bug. I think it has one of the nicest beaches Mexico with the option to walk down a few hundred yards to a protected getty area that makes it always safe to swim. I am in the hospitality industry so I was not expecting the Ritz. I do like the low key getaway feeling this offers its guests. Check in did take about 1 hour as they prepared our room.

I just returned from my second trip to Club Regina. My Aunt has a timeshare, and she spends two months a year there. I went for 15 days last year, but only 8 days this trip.
I have no experience with the check in of the hotel, as she is always there when I arrive. I have nothing but good things to say about Club Regina, and it's staff. Lots of great people there! The beach is wide there, and wonderful! The hotel is far from downtown, but if you are going to relax, it is a great hotel to stay at.
My experiences there have been really great. We had a 6th floor room facing the ocean. The views are wonderful.
I look forward to returning if I get the chance to again!

My wife and I stayed at the Raintree Club Regina in Cancun the week of February 7th through the 14th 2009. We made our reservations 6 months in advance asking for an ocean view. When we arrived the first thing on their agenda was to get us to go to a 90 minute sales pitch where they want to sell you more interest in Club Regina. We made an appointment to go through their pitch on Thursday. After that we went to get our room and there were no ocean rooms available. When I inquired why they said there are only 21 ocean view rooms and they were all full. They asked if we wanted to go on a waiting list we said yes. At this time a Mexican (or latin) family came up and asked the front desk person next to us for an ocean front room and their guy told them they have one available. I asked the man that was helping me why there was one available for this family and not for us and he just smiled saying cryptically they made a special request? The room we ended up with after travelling over 3,000 miles was one with a very nice 2nd floor view of the street and thats where we remained for the week. My Wife and I decided to make the best of it and scheduled tours, went out to dinner, and enjoyed the beautiful water and sun for the week. The only downside for us on this vacation was Club Regina; Lousy room with no view, terrible rude customer service and an undercurrent of anti Americanism coming from the staff. It was weird because my Wife and I made a strong effort to be polite and nice to all the staff but it wasn't returned even though we allways tip generously? We read other negative reviews on this site concerning Club Regina Cancun but being glass half full types we thought they were an aberration, no I'm afraid it's as bad as they made it out to be. By the way the Club Regina in Las Cabos is fabulous, a heaven compared to the hell of Club Regina Cancun. My suggestion to Club Regina if you want to continue to grow as a timeshare club, remove the Cancun property from your offerings.

We are Raintree owners who spent the last week of January at the Club Regina Cancun. The good news is that the sheets were nice, the lounge chairs were comfortable, and the ocean is beautiful. The bad news is that the building is not well-maintained (we too received electric shocks---don't touch the bed lamp if you're damp). The shower didn't drain, and water leaked into the closet. Also, the food isn't very good. The ugly, well, that's in the eye of the beholder, but we didn't care for all the bright colors, preferring soft tones at the beach.

The saving grace is that you can sleep at the Regina and spend your time next door at the Westin, where the food is delicious and the staff are accommodating and nice.

We made the best of our vacation, which turned out nice. The key is to only sleep at the Regina. We had the buffet breakfast each morning at the Westin (20% discount for Club Regina members) and spent our days at the Westin's beach and pools. We enjoyed dinner at various restaurants in the Hotel Zone. (We especially enjoyed Captain's Cove and La Dolce Vita.)

If you enjoy the ambiance of cruise ship activities, if you're a guy who wears sleeveless tee-shirts and swigs beer out of the bottle at weddings, you'll enjoy the Club Regina. If your taste runs to taking tea at the Lanesborough, however, you'd best spend your vacation somehere else.
